Looking For A Community Job? The Southwest Community Development Corp. is looking for a Project Manager for the Woodland Avenue Revitalization Project. Below is a précis of the job description:

Responsible for managing the economic development activities within Southwest CDC. Reports to: Executive Director Job Responsibilities: Maintains Targeted Corridor Revitalization Management Program contract with the Dept. of Commerce. Engage stakeholders in supporting the Woodland Avenue Revitalization Project. Write proposals to obtain government or private funding designed to meet and sustain the strategy goals. Make presentations to business groups, civic groups and community-based organizations. May assist in economic-development budget preparation and presentation. Write monthly and quarterly reports to organizational management and funders. Support the production of the Southwest Globe
Qualifications: The Woodland Avenue Revitalization Project Manager must have a bachelor’s in City or Urban Planning or related field or three years’ related experience. Must demonstrate a commitment to community and economic development. The Manager must have an outgoing personality, good presentation, including being neat, well-spoken and enthusiastic about community development work. It is preferred that the organizer be knowledgeable about citywide community-development programs and the economic-development field. S/He should be self-motivated and have a strong commitment to aiding low-moderate income neighborhoods. S/He must also have excellent writing skills, be organized, self-motivated and

able to work without close supervision. S/He must have the means to travel independently throughout the city and have the ability to visit multiple businesses within the 10block corridor. The position requires computer experience with word processing, spreadsheet, graphics and database software, specifically Microsoft Office Suite. Some evening and weekend meetings require attendance. It is preferred that the applicant be a Southwest Philadelphia resident. Salary and Hours: The Project Manager position requires a minimum of 40 hours per week as an exempt employee. The annual salary is $36,000. Benefits: 20 Personal Leave days, 11 paid holidays, long-term disability, health insurance, $25,000 life-insurance policy.
