LFA Reunion 2010

Page 1

Dear Fellow Alumni, We extend to you, your classmates, and families a very special invitation to come back to Lake Forest Academy for a terrific Homecoming and Reunion Weekend on Friday, October 1 and Saturday, October 2, 2010. Please take a moment to look over the exciting events we have in store for you this year! Plan to attend your Milestone Class Gatherings on Friday night to catch up and relax with your LFA friends. Special events on Saturday include forums with students and faculty, our Hall of Fame inductions for outstanding alumni achievement, and celebrations throughout the weekend of dual LFA-Ferry Hall history. Stop in at Reunion Headquarters where you can meet up with classmates and friends or take a break between events. Bring your children and grandchildren to the family-friendly events on Saturday, especially the family picnic and Homecoming football game. Most importantly, class committees for milestone Reunions (years ending in “0” or “5”) are already forming and are planning a meaningful Reunion experience. Please take a moment to reconnect with some of your classmates now and encourage them to attend, join your own class Reunion committee, and mark the date on your calendar. Alumni and their families are invited to join in all campus activities and meals for the entire Reunion Weekend at the rates below (one price covers the respective alumnus/a and his/her entire family). This modest fee helps LFA partially offset the cost of putting on such a fantastic weekend for our alumni and their families. Classes 1995 – 2010 Classes 1961 – 1994 Classes 1960 and Earlier

ALCOHOL POLICY Lake Forest Academy is a residential, independent secondary school with students on campus throughout Reunion. The Academy takes a very strong position against drug and alcohol use by students, and the use, possession, or even proximity to these substances results in dismissal from the school. We therefore request in the strongest possible way that adult guests not jeopardize our students by leaving alcoholic beverages unattended, by serving and/or drinking alcoholic beverages in areas and at times other than those designated by the Alumni Office, or by bringing alcoholic beverages onto campus. Non-compliance with this policy will result in confiscation of beverages and possible dismissal from the campus. Your cooperation with this policy is appreciated. WEEKEND COMMUNICATIONS If you are running late, want information, need directions or special assistance on October 1 or 2, please contact the Alumni Office at: (847) 615-3238. ATTIRE SUGGESTIONS (not requirements) While fall weather in the Chicagoland area is typically pleasant, it can be unpredictable. We suggest checking the weekend weather forecast before you arrive, and bringing along a raincoat, umbrella, sweater or fleece, and sun hat. As you will likely be on your feet for most of the weekend, we recommend that you wear comfortable shoes.
