“I want your fear. For your fear, like a current, rushes through your body. Your fear makes your heart pound, it renders your veins rich and full. Your fear hemorrhages deliciously within you.” This adaptation brings the suspense and seduction of Bram Stoker’s classic novel to the stage. As Count Dracula begins to exert his will upon the residents of London, they try to piece together the clues of his appearances in a valiant attempt to save themselves from a hideous fate. Rich with both humor and horror, this play paints a wickedly theatrical picture of Stoker’s famous vampire.

It is the classic tale of hard-hearted Ebenezer Scrooge who is visited by the ghost of his late partner, Jacob Marley, and the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future. We once again meet such beloved characters as old Fezziwig, Bob Cratchit, Tiny Tim and nephew Fred. The spirits gradually warm old Scrooge’s heart, as well as ours.

Here is Oscar Wilde’s most brilliant tour de force, a witty and buoyant comedy that has delighted millions in countless productions. This superb satire is one of the funniest plays in the English language-the delightful repartee and hilarious piercing of hypocrisy and pomposity will make you laugh out loud. Two bachelor friends, the dandy Algernon Moncrieff and the utterly reliable John Worthing, lead double lives to court the attentions of the exquisitely desirable Gwendolyn Fairfax and Cecily Cardew. The gallants must then grapple with the riotous consequences of their deceptions, as well as with the formidable Lady Bracknell.
THE MIRACLE WORKER
12+
Drama by William Gibson This classic American play tells the story of Annie Sullivan and her student, blind and mute Helen Keller. It dramatizes the volatile relationship between the lonely teacher and her student. Trapped in a secret, silent world, unable to communicate, Helen is violent, spoiled and almost sub-human and treated by her family as such. Only Annie realizes there is a mind and spirit waiting to be rescued from the dark, tortured silence. With scenes of intense physical and emotional dynamism, Annie’s success with Helen finally comes with the utterance of a single, glorious word.

VOLUNTEERS The success of every Theatre Charlotte production depends on the time and talents of people just like you. Our volunteers are performing onstage, working backstage, selling refreshments, and seeing you to your seat. There is something for every interest and no experience is necessary! ON STAGE At Theatre Charlotte we are very proud of the talent we are able to put on stage. Our actors are all volunteers and devote up to six weeks of rehearsal time and three weeks of performances to give our audiences an outstanding theatre experience. Anyone interested in performing on stage is welcome to audition! Audition dates and information can be found at theatrecharlotte.org/ auditions. BACK STAGE Each of our shows involve a hardworking team of production crew. This team of volunteers comes together to make each performance consistent and seamless. A typical production crew consists of a light board operator, a sound board operator, and stage hands who move scenery and set props. There are also volunteers who help build and paint the set during our volunteer work days. Visit theatrecharlotte.org/volunteer for more information and upcoming opportunities. FRONT OF HOUSE We also need volunteers during performances to sell concessions, usher, and provide box office support. These volunteers are the smiling faces who greet our audiences! Front-of-house opportunities are scheduled through a partnership with Hands On Charlotte. Signups are posted 3-4 weeks prior to the opening of each show. If you are interested, please go to handsoncharlotte.org, search for Theatre Charlotte on the Volunteer Opportunity calendar, and follow the directions to register and sign up. To keep up to date about all of our volunteer opportunities, sign up for our monthly volunteer newsletter by visiting our website at volunteer.theatrecharlotte.org.
