“SUCCESS THANKS TO LUCKS ?”
The well-known Pham Hong Thuy Van is obviously familiar amongst youth. When mentioned of her, the first thing that comes in mind is her beauty, persuasive talking skill and gentle gesture, a figure for many to look up to as an “Alpha girl” of modern society. On October 6th 1993, Thuy Van was born. Throughout her adolescence, she was brought up with artistic enthusiasm runs in her blood. After attending musical school, she soon seek self value in modeling. And in 2015, Thuy Van became the first Vietnamese 2nd-runner-up of the 2015 Miss International, one out of a few succeeded comparing to her predecessor. However, put aside the fame and glory, Thuy Van chose the path of Master of Ceremonies for many Vietnam’s famous TV shows.
And just after 2 years, TV shows hosted by Thuy Van such as Asia’s Got Talent or Shark Tank Vietnam, was loved by the viewers and she was honored by Her World magazine as “MC Of The Year”. Thuy Van’s characteristic is strong and independent, but behind that tough appearance is an emotional and heartwarming young lady. Before the interview with Thuy Van, there is barely a resemblance to this “figure”, we could have come up with. At the age of 25, her achievements are extraordinary on many levels, therefore there’s hardly any ways to deny her talent. Blood Sweat and Tear When being asked about her impressive achievements, Thuy Van stated that making use of all the advantages that life offers is the key. As the fulfillment of responsibility and professionalism of her job. However, it’s still a bit bother when the thought of having “already succeeded” comes to Van’s mind, because at the age of 25 there are plenty of things ahead to accomplish. But rather than looking at it as an obstacle, this motivates and inspires her to do more. And contrary to what fans and viewers see on medias, no pain no gain is the young lady’s moral.
As a result today’s triumph are is based on effort in the past. Thuy Van mentioned think that each and every person has a particular moment in their youth where they are free to explore their own desires and passion. And for herself, the biggest fear isn’t having to many dreams to pursue, but it is having none at all. Benjamin Franklin once said “ most people died at 25 but they aren’t buried until 75”. Having grew up in the obsession of dreams and passion, nourished them is so that they become reality, Van’s appearances in many other fields in the future is unavoidable. “There’s no greed when you’re fighting tooth and nail for your victories”, Van stated.
Fall seven times and stand up eight When sharing about the challenges Thuy Van had and still have to face everyday, she said failures are the inevitable of life, and that’s maybe because of the lack of experience or preparation when doing something. In her ideology, the scale of failure is treated differently by different people. For instance, if 2 students both receive B for a test, the one who set a lower goal than B would considered it as a success, but for the one who aimed higher, it’s a failure. Having been on the roller coaster of life many times, her business plan didn’t work out or failed a test as a student, Van told us the challenges that she had dealt with is 10 times the success viewers see.
“
family is everything
“
But the young lady never once mentioned the difficulties to public, contrary to many celebrities out there. There are 2 reasons to this, according to Van. First of all, the things that are going on in her life only need to stay present as hers alone, therefore empathy is the least she would want to receive from her fans. Secondly, Van’s awareness of being a public figure’s responsibility is to stay optimistic and divulge it, so that it’s movre a lesson learned rather than unnecessarily compassion. And believe it or not, thinking of surrender is her daily emotional feast. But each and every time, Thuy Van would reassure herself with one thought only: “ Van, you’ve come this far, why giving up now?”. And at that moment, Van immediately think of parents, her beloved fans and supporters. Knowing that for every home run hit, people who support her would be more happy and cheerful. Thus, Van’s thrives for success isn’t as important as thriving for the value of it.
Hearsays and Scandals One thing about being a celebrity is you will have to deal with rumors from public. Thuy Van is no exception, with hers being gossiped as a the golden child of the family. And fair to say, it is true she was born with a silver spoon in my mouth. But there are many whose condition are the same ended up being the waiter on providence in their life, or head over heels in debt. And in reverse, there are those who down to take a beating and success will be what await them. Thuy Van said: “ it’s undeniable I was on the finish line from the beginning, but you should look back to what I’ve gained to judge me, not from what I was given”.
Going an Extra Mile
As mentioned at the beginning, we thought Van possessed by the ghost of being the 2nd-runner-up internationally. But she proved herself worthy and suitable for being an MC and successfully pursued it. Sharing with us, the youvng MC stated that talent is just another way of saying hard work and self-discipline. Try your best at what you do at the present, even for the tiniest things. Be responsible with yourself, give yourself a specific goal, don’t turn down chances offered, but also remember to filter what is important and what isn’t. Last but not least, don’t rest on your laurels, push harder and the result won’t be a disappointment.
The message It’s had been a honor to be able to share with you about my story. Believe it or not, I was once like you, not knowing what to do or what to choose. It will be okay at the end, if it’s not okay, it’s not the end. Do the thing you want and don’t be afraid of anything. And remember that your family is always with you no matter what. Also I know telling this to you might be a little too soon, but just because you’ve got your success doesn’t mean you can rest on your laurels. Don’t forget that! Wish you all the best.
