H&M BODYWEAR BY EVA RAMIREZ, WGSN, 18 FEBRUARY 2013
H&M’s new S/S 13 Ad campaign has proven to be pretty action packed. Directed by Guy Ritchie the new commercial showcases a stripped down David Beckham relentlessly chasing down his robe that was snatched off by a car down. Now instead of trying to get back into the house our hero decides to sprint around the block in the sexiest Ferris Bueller fashion imaginable. The commercial seemed to prove the point that you men out there would fail to get a bunch of your undergarments up your bum while running a marathon.
IN LONDON MILLINER’S
London has a new spotlight on milliners. I’ve never been too much of a fan on headwear (nothing more than the ocasional beanie) but I can’t deny the similarities between the newly designed hats in the London Milliner showcase and the hats wore in the 20s and 30s. The slanted feel was present in the modern designs and the ornate detail was reminiscent of a preDepression America.
MOOD AND TONE BY JAIME CYK
The idea is that sex sells. But what exudes sex without being blatant or lude? The Naked palette from Urban Decay. UD has seen their franchise grow exceptionally since it’s first reveal. The Naked palette comes in an array of nude tones. It is forecasted that in 2013 nude will be the rage. Shades of browns and tones of tans will be the essential makeup. Rihanna is hopping on the bandwagon and named her new makeup ‘Nude’. L’Oreal, Physician’s Formula, and Revlon are have joined in also. In conclusion, “Nudeness always suggests a hint of bareness, the naked human body, conveying a subtle yet sensual feeling.
NASHVILLE
Nashville is a show based on a fading country star who is signed to open for a younger more “bubble gum version of herself. My guess is the viewers will be very much inspired by their style of dress. These women represent the glamorous side of the south one I could see women from Tennessee and the greater area of southern culture attempting to emulate. The outfit show a range of bright colors that are often golds or silvers. The gowns often are strapless with a very body hugging figure. When not wearing dresses the women are donning curve hugging jeans and a pair of boots topped off with a brown leather jacket.
