PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Thank you to the continued generous support of SONY, the PSNZ was able to hold the SONY National Digital Salon for 2024. It was slightly different this year as we opted for the digital-only salon to fill the gap caused by the change in the national convention date and the subsequent postponement of the traditional SONY exhibition.
It is with great pleasure that we are able to present to you the catalogue for the salon that celebrates the exceptional talent and creativity of photographers from the PSNZ. We had some 858 images submitted by 155 individuals, spanning diverse categories and showcasing our member’s breadth of photographic artistry.
In this catalogue, you will find a curated selection of the finest images entered into the competition. These photographs, carefully chosen by our esteemed panel of judges, represent the pinnacle of excellence in both the Open and Nature categories. Each image tells a unique story, capturing moments of beauty, emotion, and the intricate details of our world through the lens of our talented photographers.
The diversity of the submissions is a testament to the passion and dedication of our members. The Open category, with 534 submissions, offers a wide array of styles and subjects, reflecting the creativity and versatility of our photographers. Meanwhile, the Nature category, with 324 entries, showcases the stunning beauty of the natural world, highlighting the keen eye and technical prowess required to capture such moments.
I extend my heartfelt thanks to all the participants for their contributions and for sharing their incredible work with us and hope to see even more next year.
A special thanks goes to Annette Johnston FPSNZ, the PSNZ Councillor for Salons who has worked tirelessly to put this all together, and to the judges without whom this would not be possible. Their expertise and commitment ensure the integrity and success of the competition.
Finally, my deep appreciation to SONY for their continued support and sponsorship of this event, which provides a platform for photographers to showcase their skills and gain recognition for their artistry.
The PSNZ Council and I look forward to seeing even more exceptional work next year and encourage all our members to continue exploring their passion for photography, pushing boundaries, and capturing the world through their unique perspectives.
