BANGKOK CENTER OF PERFORMANCE ART New Bangkok center of performing arts will house a 800 seats auditorium accompany production areas, restaurant, small gallery and a blackbox theater for 200 seats. The building is well-lit and accompany by natural features from bottom to top while maintaining the typology of a lowrise building and its function. industrial heritage context of Bangkok is turning into a place for people rather than another “iconic building type : auditorium / public space area : 20,675 sqm. year : 2017
Located at the old Bangkok dockyard, the site is surrounded by historic setting and culture. the site was once a shipment pier of Bangkok. Next to the pier are residences of Chinese descendatnts who have been living here until today With rich cultures and historic setting, the aim of the project is to be part of the urban instead of being iconic building which is rather bold for the building type. Main considerations of layout planning are the urban grains of the surrounding and the axis related to neighbors
site development strategy
The old waterfront will be developed into public waterfront and public pier. The drydock will be outdoor amtheaters and other functions such as outdoor cafe’, an art stage and food kiosk
The concept of masterplanning is toinvites diversities back to the neighboorhood. instead of building a single block of program, This project proposal is to divide the landuse into 3 programs 1.Green space where the park is located. 2.The public lawn where people can come and use all the time. 3.The stage, hardscape urban public space where activities can occurs such as market and other public events each stripe is about 30 meters wide based on human perception of a relatable open space then the process is repeated throughout the site. The perpendicular alignment with the river quarantees that everyone can have direct access to the river.
Site is devided into 3 programs perpendiculat ro the river. In the East-West the stripes connect the river to the urban as a linear access while the North-South the Stripes act as boundaries between each programs creating feelings of sudden change.
The red stripes connect 1.waterfront to the entrance of the auditorium 2.the cultural axis from Yannawa temple and school nearby The central stripes is the park which separates site into 2 parts first the auditorium and sceond, the warehouse.
The building concerns about urban grains where the surround is historically and culturally crucial to the planning. Rather to build a large auditorium, the programs is splitted into main auditorium and the artist studios which located at the old warehouse.
Old warehouse is used as rentable studios for public to encourage local artists or new bloods. the ware house will be a place where artists, students, or enthusiast can meet and exchange ideas or business. Next to the warehouse is an open space connected to nearby school which can be use as a marketplace for nearby area creating jobs and income for the community. The area between the auditorium and old warehouse is used as completely public space where everyone can use The auditorium lobby cantilives creating oppatunities for activities such as a small concert or play arey or the large screen theater that will occur the entire red axis. While conventional auditoriums appear to be closed for normal people . This concept challages the idea of stage for everyone. The show is not only happens inside the auditorium but also happens all over the site. This will create a dynamic and lively acitivities in urban scenery
Main auditorium foyer entrance is on the 3rd floor with cantilivered lobby overlooks the park nearby while the entrance for Blackbox theater is on the 2nd floor with more frequent use.
Front building is designed in the scale of small scale shophouse while the auditoruim is designed in the scale of river building. new axis connecting the neighborhod to the park. the Red Carpet will be use as evernt ground.
NAI LERT HOSPITAL 2oo Beds Hospital 200 beds hospital project dealing with complex relationships of programs, circulations and functional uses of hospital building type. the project, located in one of the most valuable plot in Bangkok , tries to maintain the use of building while introducing urban activities to the area . type : healthcare area : 20,000 sqm. year : 2017
while surrounding areas are full of highrise buildings due to the land value, the whole plot still maintain plentiful of green area in the heart of Bangkok. the setting of the building try to use as little land as possible and cutting down almost nothing on site.
Typical typology of the hospital are podium, tower and a parking garage
The project starts with typical arragement off hospital building
With little change to reponse to site. this project can provide interesting activities to this area such as a marketplace, events or simple as a recreation are for the patience and staffs
URBAN APARTMENT Located in Bangkok commercial district, the apartment building accomodates 156 units of apartments from 58 sqm. to the penthouse. the project is a part of the mixed use compound connected on ground level. despite being a high rise, the building tries to create a high rise residential building in tropical city with a sense of human scale type : residential area : 21,850 sqm. year : 2017
The language of the facade is treated as simple gesture among the skyline of Bangkok. Offsetted facade is a strategy for tropical highrise building giving shades and terraces to every room.
The linear planning of the builder ensures natural light and cross ventilation for each room while minimizing the area ofcirculation.
The rooms are symtemetically arranged concerning lacks of transitional space of modern building. Master and servant spaces are clearly placed. the master spaces are opened to the terrace while the servant spaces are arranged to have the most efficient use.
Located on ground level, the water court brings down the scale of a highrise. playing with the sequence of approach and reflections, the courtyard appears to be larger that it is. The bold color is used in order to seperate the place from the outside.
PINK PARK Located in Bangkok suburb, Pink park is a facility and hospice mainly for breast cancer reseaches and treatment. The project is planned into 2 phrase. the first is breast cancer clinic and conference building, the second is the hospice area for recovering patience. The intenrtion of the proposal is to create architecture based on modular system that will be both space generator and visual element for the whole type : healthcare area : 14,600 sqm. year : 2016
The main planning of the clinic is to seperate functions of patient and supports functions such as doctor rooms or cleaning area. Programs are organised in linear plan. The building can be seen as 3 sets of building modules the lower is a patient programs, the middle is treatment room and clinic where staffs and patients meet. The upper are support programs for treatments and cleaning.
The site located in an agriculture area with rarely any man-made context. so the main idea is to make the architecture seems like the surrounding. to have it seemless with the agriculture pad of the setting. The first is to capture the essence and the topography of the place, in this case is the linear lines of agriculture field. The building is assembled as a module. configurations can be arranged to each specific space requirement such as courtyard for reidential units while the clinic canbe linear to captures sunlightfrom both directions.

BORDER SCHOOL CLASSROOM UNIT Classroom unit for border school. The requirement for the project is to design a easy-to-building structure with constrains on small budget and transportation method. The idea comes from a simple method of contruction and simple member for each part of the project plus the flexibility of other uses.
type : construction area : 106 sqm year : 2015
a single unit breaks down into each component. Using only simple members, the unit is designed to be easy to construct like a children toy. With an instruction, the unit can be constructed with minimal tools and workers. A single constructed unit is 3.60 x 6.00 square meters.
Long eaves create sufficiant protection from sounthern sunlight and from rains in monsoon season. Stacked roof allows cross-ventilation through the classroom also reflects light from the roof to allowing the indirect light to enter the building. Louvres are used to protect the building from direct light.

The project owner is a small family of 2 generations, old cou- The family has just moved in from suburb to Bangkok. The ple and a niece.the functional requiements of the project is quite owner’s interest in nature and open space is the main concept for the simple. 2 Bedrooms, 1 Masterbedroom, a dining and living space, house. and service part such as kitchen and laundry. though the funtions is a typical for residential project. The specific needs of 2 different generations are the interesting part for the project.
The project requirement for a bicycle retail with residence unit for 2 owners families. From programs, the area requirements are the main challenge for the site due to small site area and large area requirements for both retail and residence. main concept of the project is to maximize area of the site then put each function as a unit inside the constructed system. with this method, the flexibility of the project is quite interesting and easily adapted to the contexts.
