Tague is regional vice president for the New Jersey Agency Network, an agency alliance in New Jersey. Active in PIANJ, he is a chairperson of the Northwest Advisory Council and he is a member of the Executive/Budget & Finance. He was named Director of the Year by PIANJ twice. Get to Know Your Instructors
Cathy Trischan has been with the E&K Insurance Group in Eatontown, N.J., since 1996. Currently, she serves as the agency’s director of commercial underwriting. She began her insurance career after she graduated from Rutgers University in 1987. She has worked as a claims adjuster for a major property/casualty carrier, as well as in the commercial departments of several New Jersey agencies. In addition to her work with E&K, Trischan provides education and consulting services to other agents and brokers. She is a regular speaker for the PIA and a national faculty member of The National Alliance, in which she speaks in the CIC, CISR and Ruble programs. She also serves as a mentor for new CIC and CISR faculty.
Jon Persky graduated from Duquesne University, holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Pittsburgh, is a Certified Public Accoun tant, a Certified Insurance Counselor, and a Professional in Human Resources.He has spent the majority of his professional career in the insurance industry in positions such as Controller, Chief Financial Of ficer, and Personnel Director. Douglas L. Fleming entered the life insurance business in 1971 with the Boston Agency of the Connecticut Mutual Life Insurance Company. After 10 years of personal production, Fleming was named to a management position as new agent training supervisor—a position he held for three years before joining Berkshire Life as an agency supervisor—a position he held for 10 years. Currently, he is affiliated with the Boston-based agency of the Union Central Life, as a brokerage supervisor. He moderates licensing classes for PIIAM of New England and Educational Training Systems of Southborough, Mass. In 1990, Fleming was named to the associate faculty, Insurance and Financial Services of Northeastern University, Boston, Mass., and he was also named to the National Faculty of CIC, Austin, Texas.

John Fear has worked in the insurance industry for over 30 years in the areas of Life & Annuity, Small Commercial, Boiler & Machinery, Field Operations, Process Engineering and Personal Insurance. In 2007, he left the corporate life to start his own consulting firm—Premier Business Consulting. As national director of agency development at a Fortune 100 Insurance Company, Fear conducted over 100 workshops for agency owners and developed and facilitated dozens of sales training sessions throughout the country for hundreds of producers and customer service representatives. He has consulted with dozens of agents across the country, focusing on improving sales and maximizing operational efficiencies. Since starting his own business, he has been a featured presenter at several national sales meetings for major insurance companies and independent agency organizations.

Mishell K. Magnusson is the owner of KJM Consulting & Training Inc. in Munnsville, N.Y. KJM specializes in providing a broad range of highquality training programs to insurance agencies, insurance companies, and banks throughout the Northeast. In 2018, she was the recipient of The Gold Level Outstanding Course Leader Award, and in 2016 she received The Silver Level Outstanding Course Leader Award. Both awards are presented by The Institutes Risk & Insurance Knowledge Group in recognition of teaching classes that met or exceeded the national pass ratio. Magnusson was named the 2013 AIMS Society–CPIA Facilitator of the Year. She also received the 2014 Federation of New York Insurance Professionals–Tina A. Bobak Insurance Professional of the Year Award.
Steven D. Lyon is the founder and principal of Lyon Consulting Services LLC, an independent consulting and educational firm. He utilizes his 35 years of expertise and experience associated with owning, operating and managing an independent insurance agency in northern New Jersey. He has served as the regional director of education and regional vice president in charge of personal lines for the insurance division of a dynamic banking institution. Lyon conducts more than 150 insurance-related classes each year for agencies and companies throughout the U.S. His fast-paced, unique teaching style, makes him a favorite among seminar attendees.
