President’s welcome
The last few years have been a challenge, but welcome back! I’m honored to experience this year’s Connecticut Convention with you. Thank you to everyone—the sponsors, exhibitors, advertisers—and especially you, for helping to make this event possible. Please take advantage of all the convention has to offer you. This year’s event will focus on knowledge and networking.
DO YOU NEED CE?
Over the next two days, you will have three chances to attend CE-approved education courses. Cathy Trischan, CPCU, CIC, CRM, AU, ARM, AAI, CRIS, MLIS, TRIP, will lead a morning and an afternoon class on Thursday, which will focus on commercial property coverages, and personal lines coverages, respectively. And on Friday, John Fear, CPIA, CISR, will instruct a course on how to avoid errors-and-omissions claims either from what you say—or what you write—to clients. If you’ve been wondering about the latest offerings in InsurTech, or the newest insurance products and services, you are in luck. During this convention, there will be dedicated time for demonstrations from several InsurTech companies and from other companies that are exhibiting in the trade show.
NETWORKING
I hope you were able to take part in the CTYIP Happy Hour Wednesday night. Don’t forget to attend the networking luncheon Thursday afternoon and the networking reception later that night, which will feature the musical styling of DJ Michael Nigretti. More information about what is happening over the next two days—not just what I’ve mentioned here—can be found in this program book. Enjoy your Connecticut Convention, and thank you for being a part of this year’s event.
