Derek Kreckler: Accident & Process

Derek Kreckler: Accident & Process is the first survey exhibition of one of Australia’s most rigorous conceptual artists and appeared at PICA in 2015. It brings together photography, video, installation, sound and performance works drawn from the artist’s early experimental practice of the 1970s through to his more recent focus on still and moving imagery in the 21st century.

The exhibition considers the relationship between culture and the environment, focusing on representations of landscape, national identity and the role of chance.

Curated by Hannah Mathews. Australian Tour Dates

In 2016 this PICA exhibition toured to Bunbury Regional Art Gallery, Geraldton Regional Art Gallery, SASA Gallery University of South Australia, and Horsham Regional Art Gallery.

In 2017 it went on to tour at Contemporary Art Tasmania & Plimsoll Gallery, Maitland Regional Art Gallery, and Wollongong City Gallery.

The final showing will be at Bathurst Regional Art Gallery from 9 February – 1 April 2018.

Greater Together PICA Donors

PICA Donors demonstrate the power of collective impact.

They know that art brings us together. They know that audiences are excited, empowered and often challenged by the exhibitions, performances and events presented by PICA.

They know that we can be greater together - that when we do things together as a group of friends, a community, an organisation, a partnership, a party – all pulling together for one cause - it makes a bigger impact.

They know that the unique combination of all facets of PICA’s programs support our community by providing opportunities to look at the world through the artist’s lens and by shining a spotlight on current political and social issues.

PICA Donors are masters at collective action – their joint forces ensure that PICA is able to create career-defining moments for artists and life changing experiences for audiences.
