Absorption Why is Digestion very important? When you eat food, such as meats, vegetables or breads, these are not in a form that the body can use as nourishment. Nervous System The nervous system is the part of an animalâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s body that coordinates the voluntary and involuntary actions of the animal and transmits signals between different parts of its body.
