The Pierce football team will play for their first league title for the since 1985 on Saturday.

The game being played in the friendly confides of Sheppard stadium, is against Antelope Valley at 7 p.m.

Pierce head Coach Efrain Martinez giving his opponents credit said “Antelope Valley is the team to beat.”

Pierce enters the battle of conference unbeatens 6-2 overall and 5-0 in conference, while Antelope Valley enters the arena 5-3 overall and 5-0 in conference.

The emphasis of meeting will be on the Defenses. Antelope Valley comes in averaging 358.2 total yard per game. While Pierce is averaging 413.0 total yard per game.

Pierce players to watch are quarterback Matt Wabby, wide receiver Coleman Edmond, corner back Brandon Turner and linebacker Brandon Reeves.

Antelope Valley players to watch are quarterback Josh Firm, running back Kene' Martin, wide receiver Brandon Mims and line backer Chris Whitney.

Both teams enter the game on five-game-winning streaks.
