AMAN RESORT NEW YORK CITY, UNITED STATES
A new urban sanctuary and an architectural icon is reborn in the very heart of Manhattan. Within the gilded grandeur of the Crown Building, Aman’s first urban Residences invite guests to experience the Aman way of life, in harmony with the heartbeat of the city. For the purpose of the evening illumination, the building’s unique identity is the arrangement of the gold spandrel panels and their relationship to the gold elements on the crown/roof. With this simple lighting gesture, we have captured the essence of the building, for its night-time expression. The highlighting of the grid of spandrel panels provides a strong enough formal arrangement to sit over the unpredictable arrangement of haphazard illumination of the interior spaces/rooms/apartments that is expressed by the random “lit-windows” pattern.

PARK HYATT RESORT PHU QUOC, VIETNAM
The project is the result of a multilayered lighting strategy that fosters the vernacular inspired by the traditional Vietnamese Village. The Park Hyatt Resort is deciphered into the interconnecting zones, the architectural elements, the spaces of gathering, and the water surfaces. Having considered these elements, the design aim to filter them according to the principles of good lighting design and health considerations, all in support of the architectural, landscape and interior design intentions.

HOTEL METROPOL MOSCOW, RUSSIA
The project aim to preserve and enhance the particularities of Moscow modern/art nouveau style with the contemporary architectural and interiors’language of the building. This means the acknowledgment of the unique history of the Metropol building, including the original conception as a theatre and cultural arts centre. The lighting strategy distils the best of the opportunities through the identification of the architectural intentions for relevation and/or emphasis, respecting the heritage and therefore the conservation of the past.

AMSTERDAM LIGHT FESTIVAL AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS
The installation borrows a direct formal inspiration from the principle used by the early navy signal lamps for optical communication, normally used when silence is needed to spread a message. The aim is to create a powerful visual effect that connects metaphorically two elements: light and message. It transmits a message by opening and closing the shutters mounted in front of a vertical lighting screen. The message is the outcome of the manipulation of light, which stands out as the principal medium. The scale of the installation amplifies and magnifies the visual impact, which turns the message in a powerful and vibrant experience.

ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN COURSE
DOLMEN CAPRI, ITALY
The aim of the project was to create an intimate and meditative artist residency on the head of the ridge Massullo, located on the island of Capri. The concept is intentionally characterized by minimal and simbolic forms. The name “Dolmen in fact, refers to the ancient megalitic structures and reminds of transcendence and spirituality. The project develops on the top of a cliff through a sensorial path with indoor and open spaces, enjoying the beautiful view, the fragances and the ripples of the sea.

INTERIOR DESIGN COURSE
THE VILLA ROME, ITALY
The project is a single-family villa for an artist. It focuses on the indoor areas and the alternative techniques to define different functions. The starting point is the rejection of the wall as a physical border. The research aim to use alternative ways to identify spaces such as different materials, light effects and different height levels. The result is a dynamic and multifunctional space, strongly connected with the emotional part of the end-users.

MISCELLANEOUS POTTERY AND CANVAS
The following pottery artworks were made for the exhibition “Ceramic ideas in suspension, organized by Ceramica Pinto Company in its showroom. The company is an historical ceramic factory with high standard artisanal quality, located in Vietri sul Mare, Amalfi Coast (Italy). For the exhibition I merged architectural language and volumes with the local hand made process of the ceramic tiles.
