I don't think people realize how important Monks are to party composition. They're super hard to hit, just like me. They've got really high mobility and are really good at controlling the battlefield. I call em' quickie tactics cus you're just shooting off as a blur of white all over the place, supporting your team where need be. No I didn't choose Monk because they're commonly depicted as bald. That's actually a very hurtful stereotype.

I think a druid fits me best! You know, I heard they can actually turn into animals! I'll finally be able to live out my wildest fantasies of sitting in a field eating grass with the herd. Technically I could do that now, but it just wouldn't feel right. In order to get the right effect, I need to be able to step into the animal's skin and really feel what it's like to be poor, hunted, and in danger of becoming someone's meal. Yes I was a wolf girl growing up, how did you know?

Which Dungeons and Dragons class are you playing as?

Which class lets me be a domestic terrorist the fastest? I really need to know how to min/max my skills in order to disrupt the humanarchy

Can an Artificer make bombs? I'll go with Artificer and take proficiencies in survival and mathematics so I can go out in the woods for 20 years, and mail my bombs to the bourgeoisie, all the while my DM has to keep making up enemies who don't get mail. Too bad! Everyone gets mail mother fucker- it's in the constitution.

Here's your last call to volunteer at the URS next week! You know the drill! The URS is on Friday, April 26 and it's really crunch time now! Kate Votaw is panicking planning the event and needs YOU, student volunteers, to help! Really. She'll take all the help she can get! You get to pick for how long you work (8:00-5:00) and which tasks you’d like to do (examples include setting up the MSC, introducing presenters, tallying judge feedback, and many others) so come on…why haven’t you signed up yet?? You’ll get a free shirt, legit food, and Kate’s appreciation always and forever. The form to volunteer is here!

Are you going to the Undergraduate Research Symposium on April 26??! You've received messages all semester long regarding the URS and it's finally here! Wait, you haven't ever attended a research symposium and don't know what to expect? It's great, low-pressure fun, especially for you nerdy types! Students are sharing the projects they've been working on this year! There are presentations from all different majors (including Honors classes!) and the format has been compared to science fairs and even Ted Talks. But from fellow students! You can come and go as you'd like and there's a reception with (good) food & drinks at the end. Come check it out! You won't regret it.

You Have Been Reading Brain Stew!

What the hell did I just read? “Brain Stew's mission is to provide for the Pierre Laclede Honors College student body a forum for uncensored free thought, commentary, and creativity, as well as news and event listings from PLHCSA and other related campus organizations,” yak yak yak! We publish A LOT OF THINGS. Like, things that make Ed regret ever taking a job at the Honors College!

We’ve been publishing since 1991 (or 1993). Longer than Dan’s car has been running, somehow. We must be doing a good job though. Despite our best efforts, grown-ups keep giving us awards stuff like Best Sustained Program in 2012 and 2017, and Best Cultural Awareness Program in 2018. Even some shady committee called the “National Collegiate Honors Council” gave us awards in 2017, 2018, and Program of the Year in 2020.
