Rod Mireau – Sculpture

Rod Mireau (b. Saskatchewan, 1971) incorporates reclaimed wood and hardware to create “forms on the edge of recognition, forms that conjure a space between fact and fiction, past and present.” Using traditional and experimental wood-working techniques Rod constructs large scale sophisticated sculptures that hint at contemporary narratives.

Natura Studios

Natura Studios showcases specialty botanical prints on Nepalese paper. Each print is carefully selected for its beauty and exceptional quality. The specialty paper used in creating these prints is of the highest quality, allowing for a more detailed and vivid representation of the botanicals. The vignette serves as a tribute to the beauty and diversity of nature, highlighting the unique characteristics of each plant specimen.

With this guiding principle at the forefront of our minds, we are proud to present our first bi-annual event of 2023, a thoughtfully curated celebration of Organic Expressions.

At the heart of this exhibition lies a fundamental question: what inspires artists to create, and how can we capture that magic for our clients? We believe that the answer lies in the natural world that surrounds us. From the gentle interplay of light and shadow to the vivid hues of a breathtaking landscape, nature has always been the ultimate muse for creative minds.

Ken Prescott

Ken Prescott is a celebrated artist from London, Ontario. His artistic journey began at the Danforth Technical School in Toronto, where he honed his skills. Ken’s love for traveling has taken him across the globe, and he draws inspiration from his adventures in the Far East, Southeast Asia, Australia, Europe, Africa, and the South Pacific, which is evident in his artistic style.

With over four decades of experience, Ken has exhibited his masterpieces in solo and group exhibitions throughout Canada and the United States. In 1975, he relocated to Vancouver, where he was swiftly appointed chairman of The Federation of Canadian Artists and elected to senior member status.

Ken’s creative approach is uniquely his own, where he paints on papers that are later “assembled” to form a likeness. His works are highly regarded and have been included in more than 100 elite corporate and private collections across Canada and the US. Distinguished clients such as Air Canada, The Royal Bank, Bank of America, Bank of Montreal, and IBM Canada have showcased his masterpieces.

Ken’s artistry is a testament to his incredible talent and dedication to his craft, captivating audiences for decades and continues to be celebrated in the art world today.

Everything in Ken’s work evolves from papers covered with paint that start out on the studio floor an are later “assembled” to form a likeness.

Nancy L. Moore

Nancy L. Moore’s art is a product of her upbringing and innate talent. Growing up under the influence of her father Wayne Moore, a natureloving artist, Nancy developed a strong foundation for her artistic endeavors. Her passion for fine art has been unwavering, even as a co-owner of Seastar Images Inc., a graphics company based in Ajax since 1997.

Nancy has honed her artistic skills over the years, graduating from the Graphic Design Program at George Brown College and attending various workshops and classes. Her artistic style is largely experimental, with a focus on abstracting nature and landscapes. Rather than replicating images, Nancy’s art seeks to evoke moods and emotions through loose lines, rich textures, and bold colors, bringing her unique vision to life.

As a member of prestigious organizations such as the Federation of Canadian Artists, Society of Canadian Artists, Ontario Society of Artists, and Artist Network Toronto, Nancy’s art has been showcased in galleries across Ontario. From Cobourg, Port Perry, Ajax, Whitby, Oshawa, Collingwood, to Toronto, Nancy’s artwork has left a lasting impression on those who have had the pleasure of experiencing her unique expression. Nancy L. Moore is a true talent, and her artwork is a testament to her creative genius.

Nancy’s artistry knows no bounds, as she explores different mediums to bring her vision to life. She uses loose lines, rich textures, and bold colors that blend abstract and natural elements, to evoke emotions and create a visual narrative.

Rachel Taggart

Rachel Taggart’s artistic journey is one of passion, exploration, and dedication to her craft. After completing diplomas in Biology and Education, Rachel turned her attention to painting in 2001, and has been pursuing her art career with fervor ever since. Her work has been exhibited in prestigious galleries in Toronto and New York. As a highly sought-after artist, Rachel’s work has graced the walls of many spaces, including condominium lobbies, corporate board rooms, and hospitals. Notably, in 2017, Rachel was commissioned by the United Nations to create a painting that is now displayed at the United Nations Environment headquarters in Nairobi.

Rachel’s love of nature and the outdoors is evident in her work, which draws inspiration from the natural beauty that surrounds her. Her art is a reflection of her adventurous spirit, and her travels around the world have informed her unique perspective.

Over the years, Rachel’s work has evolved from land and nature themed paintings, to a diverse body of abstracts. In her “Transformations” series, Rachel relinquishes structure for fluidity; form for the unrecognizable; and control for trust in the unpredictability of the painting process. Subtlety and softness with a dynamic element of spontaneity, movement and energy are the overarching themes in this body of work.

Rachel’s work reflects her passion for the natural world, featuring vibrant colors, bold brushstrokes, and a deep appreciation for the beauty of the world around us.

Maryam Ebrahimi

Maryam Ebrahimi is a Canadian-Iranian artist whose works possess a magnetic quality, drawing in viewers and collectors alike. Ebrahimi’s compositions are characterized by their limited color palettes, heavy layers, and seamless brushstrokes, all executed with her preferred medium, acrylics. Her exquisite training and life experiences have informed her captivating works, which have been showcased and collected both nationally and internationally.

Ebrahimi holds a bachelor’s degree in fine arts from the University of Tehran and a diploma in graphic design from Tehran. Her works, which incorporate unexpected textures like music sheets and mechanical drawings, invite viewers to explore the hidden elements and dynamic movements within each piece.

In her artistic practice, Ebrahimi strives to achieve harmony and balance by merging the dynamism and energy of the yin with the tranquility of the yang. She creates a space where viewers can rest their eyes and find peace, showing that opposing forces can be complementary and interdependent in the natural world.

Custom Framing

When it comes to displaying artwork, selecting the right piece is only part of the equation. The way it is presented can have a significant impact on how it is perceived. Custom framing is a great way to add beauty and value to your artwork.

Matting: Allows the artwork visual separation from the frame, and can be done using paper mats, conservation cotton, or even fabric.

Canvas Floaters: We offer a variety of styles and colours, as well as spacing options for the “reveal” (gap between canvas and frame).

Shadowboxing: A fun way to create dimensionality by using deep frames and lifting the glazing off the artwork/object being framed.

Glazing: We offer regular glazing as a standard, but also supply glass that is museum grade, low-reflection, UV protection, acrylic, etc.

Float Mounting: This technique involves suspending the artwork on a riser so that it appears to be floating.

Lamination: When a protective film is laid over to protect art from damage and to preserve it colours. Typically used on large photography & posters.

Hand Sewing & Object Framing: This application uses nylon thread to ensure strength and flexibility as delicate materials are fastened to conservation matboards.

Multi-Window Framing: This application is the cutting of multiple mat openings in order to display various items in one frame.

Conservation Framing: The usage of acid-free materials and museumgrade applications to ensure the preservation of an artwork over time.
