Pikes Peak Community College
COURSE SCHEDULE SUMMER 2015
PPCC.EDU
Welcome to eLearning at Pikes Peak Community College! PPCC’s class schedule includes a wide variety of online and hybrid delivery classes that meet the same high academic standards as their traditional counterparts. Like the rest of PPCC, everyone in eLearning is committed to helping you meet your academic goals, whether you are seeking a career and technical degree, the first half of a bachelor’s degree, or just a few classes to help you brush up your skills. And we know that you are busy! The flexibility of online and hybrid courses means that you can combine classes with work and family commitments into a schedule that is convenient for you. Some degrees are available fully online, or you can choose to attend by selecting a mix of online, hybrid, and traditional sections to suit your needs. A couple of notes to help you use this schedule:
PPCC offers two options for enrolling in online courses: 1. PPCC Online Campus Courses are identified by an “N” in the section number. (Example: ENG 121-1N1) These courses are taught exclusively by PPCC faculty and instructors, and are overseen by PPCC instructional divisions. 2. CCCOnline courses are identified by a “C” in the section number. (Example: ENG 121-C21) For these sections, PPCC combines forces with the twelve other community colleges in Colorado, and students and faculty may come from any of these schools. Both PPCC Online Campus and CCCOnline courses are taught fully online, and students may access them at their convenience within the assignment/discussion/exam due dates and other guidelines established by their instructors. Students should plan to log into their courses a minimum of 3 times per week (per class), and allow ample time for online discussions and other activities that the courses require.
The format for hybrid, or blended delivery courses includes some in-class meetings with online course content and activities. PPCC-based hybrid format classes are identified by an H in the section number (BIO 101-1H1, for example). In most cases, students will meet once a week for lecture, hands-on learning, and face-to-face activities. Other content and assignments will be accessed and completed online.
Whether you choose online or hybrid delivery courses, you can be confident that you will be accessing the same quality classes that we offer in a traditional format. Every course meets the same state-approved course outcomes as the face-to-face sections do. Also, PPCC faculty members are trained in the teaching and learning dynamics of nontraditional education, and their course designs reflect that knowledge. Finally, our eLearning Office at Centennial Campus (A-209) can answer your questions about how online and hybrid courses can work for you. Just stop by, email (elearning@ppcc.edu), or call us (719-502-3555).
