You can withdraw from a class by using the online registration system or completing a withdrawal form and turning it in to any registration location or withdraw online. Instructors cannot withdraw you from a class. NOTE: If the Web registration system will not allow you access to register for your initial registration, you may not be able to use the web registration for any subsequent adjustments. This would include adding, dropping or withdrawing from classes. Grading Options. You may request to audit a class or select the satisfactory/unsatisfactory option. These options must be selected at the time of registration. Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory options require dean approval. Audit courses are not COF eligible. Students who audit a class will be responsible for total tuition without the COF stipend. Course Delivery Methods PPCC Online Campus Internet-based Classes Students can access these classes from any computer connected to the Internet, including computers on campus. Students will receive assignments, participate in threaded discussions, turn in assignments, and take examinations online. In most cases, no trips to campus are required. Most instructors establish due dates for assignments and examinations, but within those time frames students work at their own pace, with no specific times to be online. For more information, check "eLearning" on the PPCC website or call 719-502-3555. NOTE: PPCC Internet-based classes follow the same schedule as regular classes regarding start, end, drop and withdrawal dates. Important Facts About PPCC Online Campus 1. Textbooks are usually the same books used for on-campus classes. All textbooks are available at the Centennial Campus bookstore or online at www.ppccbookstore.com. 2. Classes are accessed through the PPCC Portal. Click on PPCC Online Campus in the Online Course access box from the portal. 3. PPCC Online classes are NOT self-paced. You are responsible for logging into your online class within the first three days of the semester, or earlier if the class is less than full term. If you do not log in within this time frame, you may be dropped as a “no-show” in your online class. Most instructors will have assignments due within the first week. CCCOnline Classes CCCOnline combines the efforts of most community colleges in Colorado to provide classes and in some cases full degrees for students who want to pursue their education online. All students must choose a home school, and grades earned by students who choose PPCC will go directly to their PPCC transcripts. Students can access these classes from any computer connected to the Internet, including computers on campus when PPCC classes are in session. Students will receive assignments, participate in threaded discussions, turn in assignments, and take examinations online. Campus visits are not required. Most instructors establish due dates for assignments and examinations, but within those time frames students work at their own pace, with no specific times to be online. On the first day of classes CCC Online students should go to the PPCC Portal and click on CCC Online in the Online Course access box. Schedule Preface

CCC Online students may purchase textbooks at the Centennial or Rampart Range Campus Bookstore, the PPCC Online bookstore at www.ppccbookstore.com, or through the CCC Online website, www.ccconline.org. Important Facts about CCCOnline 1.

Textbooks are usually not the same books used for on-campus classes. All textbooks are available at the Centennial Campus bookstore or online at www.ppccbookstore.com.

2.

Classes are accessed through the PPCC Portal. Click on CCC Online in the Online Course access box.

3.

You are responsible for logging into your online class within the first three days of the semester. Most instructors will have assignments due within the first week.

4.

CCC Online classes have different registration and start dates than PPCC Online or on-campus classes. Refer to the current Academic Calendar.

CCC Online information is subject to change. Please check www.ccconline.org for the latest information. Hybrid Classes Hybrid, or blended, classes combine on campus class sessions with Internet-based course work or live televised lectures. In most cases students will meet once a week for lecture, hands-on learning, and face-to-face group activities. Remaining assignments will be completed online. Students can access online activities from any computer connected to the Internet, including those in campus computer labs. Sections 1H*= Classes based at Centennial Campus 2H*= Classes based at Rampart Range Campus 3H*= Classes based at Downtown Studio Campus Weekend College Doing anything special this weekend? It is possible to earn an Associate of Arts degree at Pikes Peak Community College in two years by attending college only on the weekends. PPCC Weekend College at the Downtown Studio Campus offers a variety of classes for the student who wants to earn a degree but can only attend on the weekends or for the student who just wants to pick up an extra class or two. Classes are offered Fridays in the afternoon and evenings, and Saturdays throughout the day. Your Weekend College experience can also be enhanced with online classes, Internet and Hybrid offerings, blended classes that allow you the flexibility of combining a traditional classroom experience with at-home Internet learning, are a perfect complement to Weekend College. For more information, call 719-502-3000. CIS/CSC Open-Entry/Open-Exit Courses Through the Open-Entry program students may take a limited number of self-instructed classes in a flexible lab environment. Each course is self-paced and must be completed within the current semester. There are two enrollment dates for open-entry classes. Refer to "Important Dates" on the semester calendar. Students must take an Orientation Quiz for each course in an Open-Entry lab within the first week of the scheduled session or be dropped from the class. O/E lab hours can be found online in D2L under "Getting Started". Minimal instruction is available in the open-entry labs. Students will complete all exams under the supervision of the open-entry lab facilitator. O/E classes (except CIS 110) are recommended for self-motivated students who are computer literate, and already have significant knowledge in the subject area of the course. Students needing significant instructor guidance are not considered good candidates for this program (except students in CIS 110). The Schedule Preface

O/E lab facilitator will schedule tutoring sessions for students enrolled in CIS 110. Students wishing to complete CSC 105 and CIS 118 in Open-Entry must first enroll in a classroom or online section of the course and be recommended for transfer by their instructor. For more information regarding O/E, students may contact Frank Kuehn at 719-502-3267. Learning Communities Learning communities are pairs of team-taught classes of two different subjects, offered back-to-back. You can take two subjects integrated and taught together by two different instructors. You get the same credits and two grades that you would earn for taking the courses separately, but as one student wrote, "It's like getting two teachers and two perspectives for each subject, and all in a way that makes them feel like the subjects were made to go together". Interdisciplinary learning is not only fun, but encourages higher levels of critical thinking. Two integrated classes with the same instructors and students become a community: "Taking these classes together made me feel like a member of the college. I have a greater sense of belonging because of the bonds created". Remember when you sign up for a learning community, you will need to make sure you sign up for the correct two sections of the two different courses. For assistance with registration, go to Enrollment Services at any campus or call 719-502-4357.
