The Elimination of Prejudice 2013 Launch Management Plan Brothers, In the historic moment Pi Lambda Phi was founded, so was a movement dedicated to advocating a better understanding between people. Since its inception, our movement has helped more than 46,000 members develop an appreciation for participating in, and building, inclusive environments where people with varied perspectives, skills and experiences collaborate. Although our fraternal order has been eliminating prejudice for 117 years, we did not start calling our movement The Elimination of Prejudice (EOP) until 1996. Regardless, our mission remains just as relevant today as the day we were founded in 1895. The Elimination of Prejudice movement creates long-lasting community change by addressing the underlying differences between people. Our mission is to set the conditions for sensitive societal conversations to take place. By setting the conditions for people to talk about sensitive issues, the EOP advocates a better understanding between people. To ensure the longevity of our movement, we need your help. We need help increasing awareness for The Eliminate Prejudice programs and fundraising to support these programs. This launch management plan makes it easy to get involved! The following seven steps were designed to help you participate, but not burden you with countless hours of work. Please share the plan with other chapter member today. If you have any questions, please send them dire to info@eliminateprejudice.org so our committee can help support you as quickly as possible. As a bold individual or chapter, you can make a difference and advocate for "a better understanding ‘twixt men. It’s a great time to Eliminate Prejudice! Fraternally,
Jeff Buhler, IEC President

Fundraise!
**To ensure EoP fundraising is successful, we need chapters to help in two ways.** First, chapters should continue to plan philanthropy fundraisers. We want you to continue to be creative and plan programs that promote EoP awareness, build Brotherhood and make memories. The professional staff is here to help make those events a success. Let us know what type of events you wish to see on your campus and we would be glad to help you navigate through the challenges of planning that event. We have also created a Philanthropy Event Handbook, which can been found by following the following sets:
Visit our Fraternity’s homepage at http://www.pilambdaphi.org/ Once you go to Pi Lambda Phi homepage click on the “Members Only” tab on the left hand side of the page. Once in the “Members Only” section click on the “Knowledge Center – Undergraduates” Tab Once in this section scroll down until you find the “Philanthropy” header. Below the “Philanthropy” header you will find the Philanthropy Event Handbook
This handbook is 44 pages and contains great "how to" information for putting on some of the best philanthropic events our undergraduate chapters put on across the country. This handbook also gives great ideas for how to plan, advertise and execute any possible event your chapter may wish to attempt. Secondly, and most vital to the success of The EoP, we need you to distribute your team and personal fundraising pages to everyone you know. Viral marketing is the primary fundraising tool today for philanthropic organizations. The Elimination of Prejudice website makes it easy for your to send all your friends and family fundraising emails through the site. This is the same technique used by many of the most widely known Philanthropic organizations you may be familiar with – March of Dimes, American Heart Association, etc. A quick overview of the website features: Once logged in at http://eliminateprejudice.org, the **My HQ** page will provide Brothers a snapshot of their individual and team fundraising efforts. With customizable goals, email statistics and several administrative links, much of what you can accomplish through the website can be found in this section.
**My Webpage** allows you to create a personal page with message content just for your friends and family. The email message you send will link your friends and family to this page to make their gift. The **Email** tab allows you to email friends and family through the site. You may import contacts from your address book, view a log of all email activity, and post to Facebook or Twitter from this tab. When sending emails, you should fill in the greeting name and corresponding recipient email address for each contact. You can send up to 30 emails at once. We have already included a recommended message on the webpage for you to send to friends and family but feel free to add an additional personal note to your message to help the email resonate with your friends and family. 7.
International Elimination of Prejudice Week
February 8, 2012 marked the first annual International Elimination of Prejudice Day (EoP Day). In support of the EoP Day, chapters throughout the country held various events. Because of the strong support in its initial year, The Elimination of Prejudice has extended EoP Day to be a week long event. The 2013 International Elimination of Prejudice Week (EoP Week) will be the first full week in February (February 4 – 8). As an individual and as a chapter there are many things you can do to support EoP Week. Some ideas are provided below. Individual: On Facebook and Twitter complete and post the following statement: Twitter: “@elimin8prejudic I will help eliminate prejudice by [fill in the blank] #EoPWeek” Facebook: “I will help eliminate prejudice by [fill in the blank] #EoPWeek” Encourage others to show their support by also posting: Twitter: “Complete the statement and share: @elimin8prejudic I will help eliminate prejudice by [fill in the blank] #EoPWeek” Facebook: “Complete the statement: I will help eliminate prejudice by…” Chapter: Host a small event, whether it be a diversity panel or another idea from the Philanthropy Event Handbook referenced in Step 6. As a Chapter you can also post the individual tweets and Facebook posts on your Chapter Fan Pages, and encourage all of your members to take less than a minute to make a post or tweet.
