Met trots presenteren we u de nieuwe uitgave van de Pilat&Pilat famylje collection, 2013/2014.
We proudly present you the latest edition of the Pilat&Pilat famylje collection, 2013/2014.
Met dit famylje book willen we u graag kennis laten maken met de meubelen van de Pilat-collectie; zoals o.a. de nieuwste modellen BERND tafel, KEES bureau en TWA bed.
This famylje book gives you a glimpse of the furniture of the Pilat collection; for instance, the latest BERND table, KEES desk and TWA bed models. We travelled some distance for very special as well as everyday backdrops for photographs of the collection. We did so in combination with other furniture brands, designs, modern art, and antique utensils - and worked as much as possible with natural daylight. Such a variety shows the diversity of the collection in a warm, austere and timeless atmosphere.
We zijn op reis gegaan om de collectie op bijzondere, maar ook alledaagse locaties te fotograferen. In combinatie met andere meubelmerken, design, moderne kunst, antieke gebruiksvoorwerpen en zo veel mogelijk in natuurlijk daglicht. Deze mix toont de diversiteit van de collectie in een warme, sobere en tijdloze sfeer. In het midden van het sfeerboek treft u 7 verhalen, allen gerelateerd aan de Pilat&Pilat famylje collection. Zo laten we een aantal gebruikers aan het woord, over hoe en waarom zij voor de Pilatsfeer gekozen hebben. Verder geeft Gjalt Pilat ons een kijkje in de fabriek in Bosnië.
In the centrefold of the “family album”, we printed seven stories related to the Pilat&Pilat famylje collection. Several buyers are telling the reasons why they prefer the Pilat atmosphere. Gjalt Pilat also gives us a glimpse of the plant in Bosnia.

Uit het juryrapport: “eigenheid, eigenzinnigheid, puurheid, ambachtelijkheid en een door de jaren heen volgehouden hoge kwaliteit. Pilat stoort zich niet aan trends. Hij is trouw aan zichzelf. Zijn werk is puur, ambachtelijk, sober. De kracht van eenvoud. Hij brengt de dingen terug tot hun meest elementaire vorm en daarmee staat hij met twee benen in de Nederlandse traditie.’’ Met de Vredeman de Vriesprijs voor Vormgeving wil de provincie fryslân een impuls geven aan de belangstelling voor vormgeving in fryslân.

In 2011 heeft Gjalt Pilat met de tafelserie ‘Pake Sytse’ de Vredeman de Vries Prijs voor Vormgeving gewonnen. De tafel met bijzonder onderstel is gebaseerd op de klokkestoel.

In 2011, Gjalt Pilat earned the Vredeman de Vries Design Award for his ‘Pake Sytse’ table series. The table has a very peculiar belfry-shaped support. Some of the comments taken from the jury report: "Individuality, obstinacy, purity, workmanship and high-quality products retained throughout the years. Pilat does not care about trends. He is true to himself. His work is pure, traditional and austere. The power of simplicity. He brings things back to their most elementary form and has both feet firmly planted in the Dutch tradition by doing so." The Vredeman de Vries Design Award is an initiative of the Province of fryslân to stimulate the interest in design in fryslân.

EIGEN PRODUKTIE IN BOSNIE Alle meubels en houten woonaccessoires van Pilat & Pilat worden geproduceerd bij Nordent. De eigen fabriek in Bosnië, waarin een kleine veertig vaklieden continue werkzaam zijn. Pilat&Pilat koopt voor de productie graag particulier hout aan, via kleine bedrijven. In het boomrijke Bosnië is de boomgaard van oudsher een duurzame oudedagsvoorziening. Gemiddeld heeft een familie zo’n twee hectare bosgrond met tientallen vruchtbomen, zoals walnoot en kersen. Na het jarenlange plezier van het oogsten is de boom tenslotte rijp geworden voor de kap. Met de opbrengst van drie bomen kan het gezin, dat vaak uit drie generaties bestaat, aangenaam de winter door. De jongere generatie zorgt voor steeds nieuwe aanplant en voor het onderhoud van de boomgaard. Een persoonlijk keurmerk van zorg en toewijding wordt automatisch, van generatie tot generatie aan het groeiende hout meegegeven. Van familieboomgaard tot Famylje Collection. Een duurzaam en verantwoord proces. DUURZAME SELECTIE VAN HET HOUt In de massief houten meubelen van de Famylje Collection staan vijf houtsoorten centraal; eiken, walnoot, esdoorn, iepen en kersen. Bij elk meubel blijft het unieke karakter van de boom bewaard. Geen twee exemplaren van hetzelfde type meubel zijn daardoor qua uitstraling exact hetzelfde, maar kunnen verschillen in bijvoorbeeld kleur nuance. Voor de Famylje Collection zal een meubelmaker voor elk meubel een zo evenwichtig mogelijk beeld creëren door een juiste selectie van het meubelhout. Wanneer een klant speciale wensen heeft met betrekking tot de selectie van het meubelhout is het verstandig dit via een dealer kenbaar te maken. Het is veelal wenselijk dat nieuwe meubels qua uitstraling passen bij meubels die de klant al heeft. Kleur en structuur zijn zaken waarop gesorteerd kan worden. Hierbij zal een meubelmaker zijn best doen de gewenste selectie te maken. Mogelijk levert dit een meerprijs op. Zoals hierboven beschreven gaat de houtinkoop in Bosnië iets anders in zijn werk dan bij nederlandse meubelfabrieken, die hun hout betrekken via de houthandel. Hier kan naar wens een bepaalde kwaliteit ingekocht worden voor een prijs die daar bij hoort. Pilat&Pilat en Nordent nemen verantwoordelijkheid voor het milieu door van een ingekochte boom zoveel mogelijk grote delen kwaliteitshout te gebruiken voor de productie van meubels. Kleinere delen die resteren na selectie en de productie van meubels worden gebruikt voor de productie van woonaccessoires. Wat dan resteert wordt gebruikt voor het verwarmen van de droogkamers en de meubelfabriek. Op deze wijze wordt op duurzame wijze gebruik gemaakt van het inheemse hout uit bosrijk Bosnië. MAATWERK De meubelen worden gedurende het hele productie proces continue gecontroleerd op kwaliteit. Elk meubel wordt op maat gemaakt in de houtsoort naar keuze. Voor maten die niet in de prijslijst staan kan een speciaalaanvraag gedaan worden. Ook kan gedacht worden aan alternatieve bladverlijmingen en detailleringen. Een eigen ontwerp aanvragen is mogelijk en wordt vergezeld door duidelijk tekenwerk.

OWN MANUFACTURING PLANT IN BOSNIA All furniture and wooden home accessories from Pilat & Pilat are produced at Nordent. They have their own manufacturing plant in Bosnia, employing some 40 craftspeople on a full-time basis. Pilat & Pilat like to buy their wood privately from small-scale operators. for many generations, orchards have been a sustainable source of income for the elderly in the woody regions of Bosnia. on average, families have about two hectares of woodland with dozens of fruit trees, such as walnut and cherry trees. After many years of harvesting the fruits, the trees are finally given the chop. Three trees will get a family, often consisting of three generations, comfortably through winter. The younger generation always takes care of new plantings and the maintenance of the orchard. A personal hallmark of care and dedication is automatically passed on to the growing wood from one generation to the next. from family orchard to famylje Collection. A sustainable and sensible process. SUSTAINABLE WOOD SELECTION The solid wooden furniture of the famylje Collection revolves around five types of wood: oak, walnut, maple, elm and cherry. The unique character of the tree is retained in each piece of furniture. In terms of appearance, no two pieces of the same type of furniture are exactly identical, because of a different shade, for instance. for the famylje Collection, a furniture maker will endeavour to create the best possible balance by choosing the right wood. A customer with special requirements with regard to the preferred furniture wood is advised to first talk to his dealer. In many cases, it would be desirable to match the appearance of new furniture to the customer's preference. Colour and structure are variables for the customer to choose from. The furniture maker will do his best to meet the customer's choice. However, this may result in an ex tra charge. As was pointed out, the procedure of purchasing wood in Bosnia is quite different from the methods followed by Dutch furniture manufacturers, who buy their wood from wholesalers. We buy a certain quality of wood as required, at a price to match. Pilat&Pilat and Nordent take responsibility for the environment by using the large pieces of high-quality wood for making furniture. Smaller pieces, left over after selecting and manufacturing furniture, are used for the production of home accessories. Any remaining wood is used for heating the dry kilns and the furniture plant. In this process, native trees from wooded Bosnia are being used in a sustainable manner. TAILORED TO SUIT INDIVIDUAL REQUIREMENTS The furniture quality is continuously monitored during the entire production process. each piece of furniture is custom-made of the type of wood chosen by the customer. Please contact us for a price of nonstandard items. Also for alternative bonding of tabletops and details. Customers may also come up with their own design together with a clear working plan.

In de massief houten meubelen van de Pilat&Pilat famylje Collection staan vijf houtsoorten centraal; eiken, walnoot, esdoorn, iepen en kersen. Bij elk meubel blijft het unieke karakter van de boom bewaard. Geen twee exemplaren van hetzelfde type meubel zijn daardoor qua uitstraling exact hetzelfde, maar kunnen verschillen in bijvoorbeeld kleur nuance. Het hout wordt gesorteerd en verwerkt door ervaren meubelmakers in de eigen fabriek in Bosnie. De meubelen worden gedurende het hele productieproces continue gecontroleerd op kwaliteit. elk meubel wordt op maat gemaakt in de houtsoort naar keuze. De afwerking van het hout is met natuurlijke olie of speciale meubelzeep. HOUT IS EEN NATUURLIJK MATERIAAL en daardoor zijn mogelijke afwijkingen in kleur en structuur inherent aan het materiaal. Ondanks de behandeling kan de kleur van het hout veranderen door plaatsing in direct zonlicht of kunstlicht. Hout heeft een open structuur en is daardoor onderhevig aan de blootstelling van de luchtvochtigheid. Vooral wanneer het afgewerkt wordt met een olie en/of zeep kan het gaan werken. In de winterperiode wanneer er veel gestookt wordt in huis, kan de luchtvochtigheid te laag zijn voor het hout. Om het krimpen van het hout zoveel mogelijk te voorkomen, adviseren wij een gezond woonklimaat, ca. 20 graden celcius kamertemperatuur en 55% - 65% relatieve luchtvochtigheid. Wanneer het te droog is kunnen kleine scheurtjes ontstaan in het hout, die ook weer dicht gaan naarmate de vochtigheidsgraad omhoog gaat. HOUT IS EEN HOOGWAARDIG MATERIAAL en moet met de nodige zorg behandeld worden. Scherpe, hete of vochtige voorwerpen kunnen het houtoppervlak beschadigen. Gemorste vloeistoffen dienen direct weggenomen te worden om vlekken te voorkomen. Het gebruik van ‘agressieve’ schoonmaakmiddelen en zeker schuurmiddelen wordt afgeraden. Veel vlekken kunnen worden voorkomen door het gebruik van onderzetters en door de inwerktijd van de vlek te verkorten door het tijdig weg te nemen. KLEINE REPARATIES ZELF UITVOEREN Een voordeel van niet gelakte en niet kunstmatig gekleurde massieve meubelen is dat u deze zelf mooi kunt houden en kleine beschadigingen kunt herstellen. Vaste en sterke vervuiling zoals sporen van regelmatig vastpakken of rubbersporen van schoenzolen op de tafelpoten kunnen met fijn (korrel 220) schuurpapier weggeschuurd worden. Daarbij moet voorzichtig in de lengte van de houtrichting geschuurd worden. Hierdoor wordt de olie- of zeeplaag die normaal de vervuiling tegenhoudt weggenomen. De oppervlakte bescherming moet na de behandeling weer opnieuw aangebracht worden. Een diepe kras of deuk kunnen door wegschuren of opzwellen (vochtige doek kort onder een warm strijkijzer op de beschadigde plek) hersteld worden. Zo is het herstellen van kleine beschadigingen van uw meubel ook zonder vakkennis probleemloos mogelijk.

The solid wooden furniture of the Pilat&Pilat famylje Collection revolves around five types of wood; oak, walnut, maple, elm and cherry. The unique character of the tree is retained in each piece of furniture. That is the reason why no two pieces of furniture are exactly identical, but will differ in things like colour shade. Timber is selected and processed by experienced furniture makers in our own factory in Bosnia. The furniture quality is continuously monitored during the entire production process. Each piece of furniture is custom-made of the type of wood chosen by the customer. The wood is finished using natural oil or special furniture soap. Wood is a product of nature, and for that reason the colour and structure are not always identical. In spite of the treatment, the colour of the wood may change through putting it in direct sunlight or in artificial light. Wood has an open structure. As a result, exposure to humidity in the air may have an effect on the furniture. Changes may occur at any time. Particularly during winter months when heaters are turned on full power, the air may become too dry for the wood. To minimise the risk of shrinking wood, we suggest a healthy indoor climate with a room temperature of approx. 20 degrees Celsius and a relative air humidity of around 55% - 65%. Dry air may cause minute cracks in the wood, which will close again as the humidity level goes up. Wood is a high-grade material that needs to be treated with care. Sharp, hot or wet objects may damage the wooden surface. Spilt liquids should be removed immediately to prevent stains. The use of caustic - and certainly abrasive - cleaning agents is not recommended. Avoid stains by using coasters for your drinks and removing any spills without delay. Small do-it-yourself repairs The advantage of unpainted and not artificially coloured solid furniture is to have the routine maintenance and small repairs in your own hands. Permanent and serious stains, such as traces of regular touching or rubber shoes on table legs, can be removed using fine (220-grit) sandpaper. Make sure you sand lengthwise in the direction of the wood grain. This will remove the film of oil or soap that had been put on for protection. Remember to re-apply the surface protection after treatment. A deep scratch or dent may be repaired through sanding or swelling (briefly pressing a hot iron onto a moist cloth on the damaged spot). In that way it will be a breeze to repair small damage to your furniture without expert knowledge.

Algemeen De massief houten meubels worden standaard afgewerkt met natuurlijke olie en/of zeep. elk model kan in principe in 5 houtsoorten naar keuze gemaakt worden. Verder kan gekozen worden voor een lakafwerking, transparent of dekkend, eventueel in combinatie met een beits. Het stalenmateriaal geeft inzicht in de mogelijkheden. zeep en/of olie Afwerkingen Standaard worden de massieve meubelen naar keuze afgewerkt met een zeep en/of olie. Het natuurlijke karakter van het hout blijft op deze wijze bewaard. Het onderhoud van gezeepte en geoliede tafels is essentieel om uw meubel in goede conditie te houden, maar ook eenvoudig. (zie pag. 108). Door het meubel regelmatig aandacht te geven blijft het in een goede conditie. Vooral in de wintermaanden is dit erg belangrijk. lakAfwerking Naast de behandeling met olie en zeep biedt Pilat&Pilat een lakafwerking aan. een transparante lak kan gecombineerd worden met een beits. Verder kan eikenhout in een kleurlak gespoten worden, waarbij de structuur van het hout nog zichtbaar blijft. Naast de standaardkleurlakken is een lakafwerking in vrijwel elke RAl of Sikkenskleur mogelijk. een lak sluit het hout zodanig af dat luchtvochtigheidsverschillen nauwelijks invloed hebben op de werking van het hout. Verder is lakken praktisch: vlekken dringen niet in het hout en een meubel is eenvoudig af te nemen. een gelakt meubel voelt anders aan dan een meubel met olie- of zeepafwerking. Door de lak verdwijnt het contact met het hout voor de gebruiker. een eventuele beschadiging is lastiger op te lossen. Waar bij een zeep- of olieafwerking een meubel bijgewerkt kan worden zonder zichtbare sporen zal een gelakt meubel veelal geheel geschuurd en opnieuw gespoten moeten worden. Verder wordt voor een lakafwerking een meerprijs gerekend. GEBAKKEN ESDOORN EN IEPEN Gebakken hout is alleen mogelijk in iepen en esdoorn. Bij het ‘bakken’ wordt het hout verhit tot een temperatuur tussen de 200 en 240 graden. Tijdens dit proces wordt het vochtgehalte in het hout teruggebracht en verandert de structuur van het hout zodanig dat het praktisch ongevoelig is voor krimp en uitzetting. Daarnaast krijgt het hout een mooie karakteristieke donkerbruine kleur. Dit alles maakt het ‘gebakken’ hout tot een ecologisch verantwoord alternatief voor tropisch hout. Het gebakken hout verkleurt in zijn geheel, waardoor bij krasje of kleine beschadigingen de kleur gelijk blijft. Dit is een groot voordeel t.o.v. kleurafwerkingen die op het hout worden aangebracht. Na verloop van tijd kan de ‘donkere’ kleur enigszins vervagen, vooral wanneer het meubel gezeept is en in het volle zonlicht staat. De standaard afwerking is met olie en/of zeep. De dikte van het ‘gebakken’ hout bedraagt minimaal 10 mm en maximaal 20 mm. Meubels met delen hout van meer dan 20 mm dik worden bij ‘gebakken’ hout samengesteld uit meerdere lagen. GEROOKT EIKEN Tijdens het rookproces reageert het looizuur dat van nature in het eikenhout aanwezig is met ammonia. Dit geeft het eikenhout een rokerige kleur. Het roken gebeurt niet door-en-door; de reactie houdt op ca. 1,5 mm onder het houtoppervlak. Het effect van het proces wordt beïnvloed door de concentratie looizuur in het eikenhout, de verdunning van de ammonia en de tijdsduur van de reactie. Na verloop van tijd ontkleurt het gerookte eikenhout enigszins, naar een kleur die het hout van nature heeft. Het roken van andere houtsoorten dan eikenhout is niet mogelijk.

IN general Natural soap and/or oil are used for standard finishing solid wooden furniture. each model can be made in five types of wood. further options for wood finishes are a lacquer finish, transparent or non-transparent, in combination with a woodstain, if so required. lacquer Finish As well as treatment using oil and soap, Pilat&Pilat can offer a lacquer finish for their furniture. Transparent lacquer is combined with wood stain, if so required. oak can have a spray-painted coat using coloured lacquer, while retaining the visible structure of the wood. options do not only include the standard colours, but also a lacquer in just about any RAl or Sikkens colour. lacquer seals the wood from the ambient air, so that fluctuations in air humidity will hardly have an effect of the wood. lacquered wood also has practical benefits: stains will not penetrate into the wood and furniture cleaning is a breeze. lacquered furniture feels different from furniture treated with oil or soap. lacquered furniture takes away the user's touch of wood. Any scratches are harder to fix. furniture treated with oil or soap can be fixed without leaving any marks, but lacquered furniture may often require sanding and repainting. A lacquered finish will also incur an extra charge. Cured wood The Process During the so-called ‘curing’ process, the wood storage area is fired up to reach a temperature of between 200 and 240 °C. This is done to reduce the moisture content of the wood and to change the structure of the wood to make it almost insensitive to shrinkage and expansion. In addition, the wood is given a fine, characteristic, dark-brown colour. All that makes the cured wood a fantastic ecological alternative to tropical wood. The wood discolours as a whole, so the colour will remain the same in case of small scratches or damages. This is a great advantage compared with colour finishing applied to the wood afterwards. In the course of time the ‘dark’ colour may somewhat fade, particularly after the furniture has been treated with soap and is exposed to bright sunlight. The product is finished with oil and/or soap. The thickness of the cured wood is between 10 and 20 mm. Cured wooden parts thicker than 20 mm are made up of several layers of wood. The wood discolours as a whole, so the colour will remain the same in case of small scratches or damages. This is a great advantage compared with colour finishing applied to the wood afterwards. SMOKED OAK During the smoking process, ammonia reacts with the tannin naturally found in oak. This leaves the oak with a distinct smoky colour. The smoking process will not entirely penetrate the wood; the reaction stops at about 1.5 mm below the wood surface. The process depends on matters such as the concentration of tannin in the wood, dilution of the ammonia, as well as the length of time for the reaction. As time goes by, the smoky colour will slightly fade and the wood will regain its natural colour. oak is the only type of wood suitable for smoking.

Het meubel normaal schoon houden met een vochtige doek. Bij gebruik van wit gepigmenteerde onderhoudsolie het flesje voor gebruik goed schudden en eventueel roeren, zodat het witte pigment zich goed met de olie vermengt. Een kleine hoeveelheid onderhoudsolie op een katoenen doek aanbrengen en in het hout masseren. Na een droogtijd van 20 minuten het meubel droog wrijven met een schone katoenen doek in de richting van de houtnerf. Deze behandeling na ca. 40 minuten herhalen. Het meubel mag pas na 4 uren weer normaal gebruikt worden. Na de behandeling met onderhoudsolie mag het hout op de behandelde plekken 24 uur niet met water in aanraking komen in verband met het uitharden van de olie. Waarschuwing: vergeet niet om de katoenen doek waarmee de onderhoudsolie is ingewreven na gebruik goed uit te spoelen met water en buiten te laten drogen, of nat gemaakt met water in een plastic zak op te bergen en weg te gooien. Dit in verband met zelfontbrandinggevaar. De natuurlijke oliën die worden toegepast op Pilat&Pilat meubelen versterken de structuur en kleur van het hout en zorgen voor een sterk en slijtvast oppervlak. De speciale samenstelling van de oliën zorgt er voor dat het hout blijft “ademen”. Het hout is daarom veerkrachtig en duurzaam en behoudt zijn natuurlijke eigenschappen. Door het gebruik van het meubel kan het hout vaal worden. U kunt uw meubel dan ‘opfrissen’ met de bijgeleverde onderhoudsolie (naturel of witgepigmenteerd). Deze onderhoudsolie herstelt de oorspronkelijke olielaag en geeft een zijdeachtig, soepel, vuil- en waterafstotend laagje. Belangrijk: Pilat&Pilat meubelen die met olie afgewerkt zijn hebben een uithardingsperiode nodig van 8 tot 10 weken. Gedurende deze periode vormt zich een beschermend laagje over het hout. Wij adviseren u in deze periode het meubel niet intensief te gebruiken: • De eerste 8 tot 1a0 weken uw meubel NIET met onderhoudsolie behandelen. • Bescherm uw geoliede meubel tegen vocht door het gebruik van onderzetters. Use a moist cloth for everyday cleaning of the furniture.When using the white-pigmented maintenance oil, remember to shake the bottle (and possibly stir the fluid) to ensure the white pigment and the oil are mixed well.Apply a small amount of maintenance oil to a cotton cloth and rub into the wood. Allow drying for 20 minutes; rub the furniture dry with a clean cotton cloth in the direction of the wood grain. Repeat the treatment after approx. 40 minutes.Do not use the furniture in the usual manner for 4 hours. After treatment with maintenance oil, avoid water contact with the treated areas to allow the undisturbed curing process. Warning: After use, remember to rinse the cotton cloth that has been used to rub in the maintenance oil and let it dry in the open air. Alternatively, dip the cloth into water, put it into a plastic bag and throw it away. That is to avoid the risk of spontaneous combustion. The natural oils used for Pilat&Pilat furniture enhance the structure and the colour of the wood and create a strong and abrasion-proof surface. The special composition of the oil ensures the 'breathing” ability of the floor. That is the reason why the wood is resilient and durable, while it retains its natural properties. The colour of the wood may fade through frequent use of the furniture. In that case you may wish to bring the furniture ‘back to life’ using the maintenance oil supplied (natural or white-pigmented). The maintenance oil repairs the original film of oil and gives a silky, resilient and dirt & water resistant layer. Important information: Pilat&Pilat-Furniture treated with oil will require an 8 to 10-week curing period. In this time, the wood will be covered with a protective layer. We advise against the frequent use of the furniture in this period. • Do NOT treat your furniture with maintenance oil for the first 8 - 10 weeks. • Protect

Het zepen dient u te herhalen, afhankelijk van het gebruik en vuil worden: - eet- en salontafels: 1 x per 1 tot 3 weken - dressoirs en kasten: 1 x per 1 tot 3 maanden Het zeepmengsel bestaat uit: 1 deel zeep en 20 tot 40 delen water. De verhouding is afhankelijk van de intensiteit van het gebruik van het meubel en de kleurnuance die u wilt bereiken. Bij intensief gebruik adviseren wij u een verhouding van 1:20 tot 1:30. Bij minder intensief gebruik kunt u volstaan met 1:30 tot 1:40. Vóór gebruik van een zeepmengsel van wit gepigmenteerde zeep het mengsel goed schudden of roeren, zodat het witte pigment zich goed met de zeep vermengt. Het is aan te raden dit mengsel te bewaren in een afsluitbare fles of plantenspuiter, zodat het altijd klaar staat voor gebruik. Breng het mengsel aan op de ruwe kant van het bijgeleverde schuursponsje (katoenen doek gebruiken bij een geolied meubel) en zeep het hele meubel in, in de richting van de houtnerf. Laat dit ca. 2 minuten inwerken. Daarna het meubel met een schone, vochtige doek afnemen waardoor overtollig zeep en vuil in de toplaag van het hout worden verwijderd. Het water zal zeer snel verdampen en een nieuwe zeeplaag in het hout blijft over.

The ratio depends on the intensity of using the furniture and the shade of colour you wish to achieve. For furniture used frequently, we suggest a ratio of 1:20 to 1:30. For less frequent use, a ratio of 1:30 to 1:40 will do.Before using the white-pigmented soap mixture, remember to thoroughly shake or stir the mixture to ensure the white pigment and the soap are mixed well. We recommend you keep the mixture in a bottle with a cap or a plant spray to always have it ready for use.Apply the mixture on the rough side of the scourer supplied (use a cotton cloth for oiled furniture)and soap the entire piece of furniture in the direction of the wood grain. Leave this for approx. 2 minutes. Clean afterwards, using a clean, moist cloth to remove the excess soap as well as dirt in the upper layer of the wood. The water will quickly evaporate and the new layer of soap in the wood will remain.
Zeep als onderhoudsmiddel voor houten meubels werkt op twee manieren. In de eerste plaats werkt zeep preventief. Na elke zeepbehandeling volgt een verzadiging van het oppervlak door de cocos- en sojavetten waardoor vuil en vocht minder kans hebben om in het hout door te dringen. In de tweede plaats werkt de zeep ook reinigend door het vuil in de bovenste laag van het hout te verwijderen. Wanneer een gezeept meubel aan u wordt geleverd is het reeds een aantal keren gezeept en vergt het daarna regelmatig onderhoud. De zeep (witgepigmenteerd of naturel) is vervaardigd uit plantaardige grondstoffen zonder gebruik van kleur- en geurstoffen, conserveringsmiddelen of andere kunstmatige toevoegingen. De zeep is uiterst geconcentreerd en dient te worden verdund met water, alvorens op het hout aangebracht te worden. Hoe hoger de concentratie zeep hoe witter/ bleker het hout wordt of blijft. Hoe vaker u het zeept des te witter/bleker zal het hout worden cq blijven en des te meer bescherming voor het hout. Vuil en vlekken kunt u verwijderen door de zeep onverdund op de ruwe zijde van een schuursponsje (katoenen doek gebruiken bij een geolied meubel) aan te brengen en op de te reinigen plek in de richting van de houtnerf met druk, al naar gelang de intensiteit van de vlek, te schuren. Vervolgens de plek afnemen met een schone, vochtige doek. Indien nodig, een aantal keren herhalen. Aansluitend het meubel volgens normale gebruiksaanwijzing zepen. Moeilijke vlekken, zoals vettigheid en rode wijn kunt u verwijderen door een kleine hoeveelheid pure zeep op de vlek te leggen en dit af te dekken met een vochtige doek waarna u de zeep ongeveer 10-12 uur laat inwerken. Daarna het vlak opnieuw inzepen. Inhoud van onderhoudskistje: • flesje 250 ml onderhoudszeep (wit of naturel) • schuursponsje
Soap as a maintenance product for wooden furniture works in two ways. Firstly, soap works in a preventive manner. Following every soap treatment, the surface is saturated with coconut and soy fats to stop dirt and moisture from penetrating into the wood. Secondly, the cleaning action of the soap removes the dirt in the upper layer of the wood. When you buy soap-treated furniture, it has already been treated with soap for several times. All it then needs is regular maintenance. The soap (white-pigmented or natural) has been made from vegetable materials without the use of colouring, aromatic substances, preservatives or other artificial additions. The soap is extremely concentrated and must be diluted with water before applying it to wood. The higher the concentration of soap, the whiter/paler the wood will be. The more you treat the furniture with soap, the whiter/ paler the wood and the more protection it will give to the wood. Remove dirt and stains by applying undiluted soap on the rough side of a scourer (use a cotton cloth for oiled furniture) and rub on the soiled area in the direction of the wood grain under pressure, depending the seriousness of the stain. Clean afterwards, using a clean, moist cloth. Repeat several times, if necessary. Go on to apply the soap on the furniture in the usual manner, as described in the instructions. To remove difficult stains, such as grease and red wine, put a small amount of pure soap onto the stain and cover it with a moist cloth for approximately 10-12 hours. Afterwards, soap the surface once again.
