Pop goes Mindanao Over the years Mindanao music has been boxed in the “ethnic” or “world” music category. This is probably because the first Mindanaoan musicians who broke into the mainstream brought instruments like the kulintang, kubing, kuglong, kudyapi, and agung into their musical styles. Audiences in Metro Manila lapped up the “new sound,” but in the process also set a limit to what they believe Mindanao music should be. Soon the “new” sound, boxed in as it was to only one style, became run of the mill and old. It was a case of “if you’ve heard one, you’ve heard them all.” But there is so much more to Mindanao music than that. This was brought home perfectly on November 9 when the Mindanao Popular Music Festival (MinPop) was launched to the media in Davao City. That night the 10 finalists were revealed, and their songs showcased the diversity that Mindanao artists can create. Festival director Jeremy Sarmiento said the process started in the middle of this year when MinPop did the rounds of various areas in Mindanao to conduct song writing workshops. This was followed by invitations for
submission of entries, and MinPop was flooded with more than 300 songs. This was whittled down to an initial 70, then 30, then 15, and eventually to the final 10. Many of the songs were good, Sarmiento says, and it was, in fact, difficult to come up with the final 10. In the end the following were selected: 1. #Buang by Sherwin Fugoso of Jabonga, Agusan Del Norte 2. A.M. by Mau Ria Pama of Lupon, Davao Oriental 3. 9. Sayaw by Marvin Asis of Davao City 10. Tethered by Marckenny Joshua Bohol of Iligan City As you can probably tell by the titles, these songs run the spectrum from love songs to social commentary. But you’d have to hear the songs to tell that the styles are far different from what many non-Mindanaoans expect. There is no “ethnic” sound, no boxed-in style, no restriction as to what the sound should be. And that is what pop music is. MinPop is simply “pop music created by Mindanaoans,” and while Sarmiento and the other organizers made no conscious effort to exclude the stereotypical “Mindanao” sound, the songwriters themselves showed that they are not about to be restricted by anyone. MinPop is more than just a contest or a music festival: It’s a movement whose vision is to have globally recognized pop music created by Mindanao. Its mission is to position Mindanao as a pop music generator, and based on the top 10 as well as other songs that have already been produced, this is a totally doable and achievable goal.
Mindanaoans have actually already started making their mark in pop music. Last year Chud Festejo of Davao City won the first prize in the Philippine Popular Musical Festival (PhilPop) with his song Nanay Tatay, while his fellow Davaoeño Kyle Raphael Borbon won the first prize in the Himig Handog songwriting competition with his song Sa Mga Bituin na Lang Ibubulong. They have proven that pop music is not the exclusive domain of those in Luzon or the Visayas, and that Mindanao music is not just about kulintang, kubing, kuglong, kudyapi, or agung. So what is Mindanao pop? Like all music, it is still evolving, but based on the MinPop Top 10, MinPop is heartfelt music written and sung by a people who know what it is to be neglected, sidelined, and ignored. There is a certain edginess, to be sure, but it is not the kind of edge that hurts the listener. There is also hugot – an emotion that’s pulled from deep inside – that seems to pervade even the upbeat entries. Sarmiento says MinPop, which is supported by prominent business leaders Ricky Floirendo and Mike Ayala, will culminate in a three-day music festival on February 2, 2020 (02/02/2020), in which the highlight will be a concert featuring the Top 10 where the final winners will be announced. Prizes at stake are P100,000 for the first prize, P50,000 for the second prize, and P25,000 for the third prize. It’s almost immaterial who will win because in the end, all the artists share one goal: for all Filipinos, no matter where they are and what language they speak, to appreciate the music of Mindanao. Intimacy after breast cancer treatment Dear Ate Anna, My wife has recently had breast cancer treatments. Thankfully, she is OK, and is at home and feeling better. Is there anything we should know or be careful about when showing care for each other? Worried Husband Dear Worried Husband, Thank you for your email. I am very glad your wife is feeling better. A cancer diagnosis can bring a very difficult time for the family. Each person is experiencing different types of emotions and needs different things. I would recommend communicating with each other as much as you can about every partner’s needs, and how you can care for each other while she is recovering. It is important to talk together about physical touch during this time. Unfortunately, there is no manual about how to love each other after breast cancer treatment. Every person is different and responds to treatment differently. For some people, their desire for sex does not change, and for others their desire may change
significantly. It can be normal for her to experience one or more of these side effects: • decreased interest in sexual touching • being too tired to engage in sexual touching • feelings of fear, anxiety, guilt, frustration or sadness regarding sexuality • changes in sexual response (this may be linked to medication use) It can also be normal for you, as her spouse, to experience feelings of confusion, stress, anxiety, sadness and other things as you work through this together. This may feel heavy, but there are many things you can do. Here are some ideas: • talk as much as you can about your feelings and your desires, including any fears you both may have • make a plan beforehand, talking about what types of activities you will be trying and any boundaries either of you need • go slowly and gently as you two get to better understand any emotions and physical changes • remember there are many
ways to express care for each other through touch; if one type of touch isn’t working, try others • be as patient as possible with yourselves and with each other. This can be a challenging time A lot of this information came from the Canadian Cancer Society. They have a great online resource that you can access at www.cancer.ca. They have specific pages on sexuality and cancer that may be helpful.
And before you start any serious touching, I encourage her to talk with her health care team about sexual intimacy. They may have information about her specific case, which is important for her to know. Experiencing cancer treatment can be very challenging as a family. I strongly encourage you to talk together as much as possible about each of your needs and feelings, and to work together

I was heartened by reading the results of a new public opinion survey on Canadian attitudes about immigration published in CIC News. In a poll taken between October 7 and October 20, 2,008 Canadian respondents expressed their support for continued immigration to the country. Following is a breakdown of some of the questions and responses given. The responses show that a growing majority of Canadians reject the notion that Canada takes in too many immigrants. The survey found positive support for immigration across most of the country, with noticeable increases in Atlantic Canada, Quebec and the Prairie provinces. In Atlantic Canada 71 per cent disagreed with the statement that Canada is “taking in too many immigrants.” Younger female respondents with a higher level of education and financial security were the most likely to hold a favourable opinion

of immigration. Those who held negative attitudes about immigration were persons who were “concerned about job loss in their household.” In terms of the major political parties on the eve of the federal election, the Conservative Party of Canada supporters were most likely to hold an opinion that there were too many immigrants entering Canada. Among respondents who self-identified as Conservative supporters, 51 per cent held negative attitudes about immigration, while 45 per cent held a positive attitude. Among NDP supporters, 79 per cent expressed a positive attitude about immigration and 74 per cent of Liberals also supported immigration to the country. These findings were borne out by the federal election results with the Liberals returned to power in a minority coalition with the NDP. The Conservatives, who promised a return to the Harper approach to governance,

Canadian attitudes on immigration polled, October 2019 including limiting immigration, remain the official opposition. Most Canadians, 80 per cent, agreed that immigration is a boost to the Canadian economy. The Environs Institute found that this was the highest support recorded in 25 years. Most respondents from Atlantic Canada (82 per cent) shared this view, with 84 per cent of those in British Columbia and 76 per cent in both the Prairies and Alberta. The majority of voters also agreed with this view ranging from 68 per cent of Conservative voters to 90 per cent of Liberal voters. Some Canadians continue to question the integration of newcomers but that number is down by one per cent from the April 2019 results. Half of respondents now hold that “there are too many immigrants coming to this country who are not adopting Canadian values.” Attitudes about immigrants in Quebec showed that “public
opinion about immigration is as positive, if not more so, than in other parts of the country.” The breakdown of attitudes by political party association show the split between negative attitudes about immigrants with 71 per cent of Conservative voters believing that immigrants are not adopting Canadian values as compared to 36 per cent of Liberals and 34 per cent of NDP supporters who hold a similar opinion. The results of the survey show that immigration continues to be something that unites Canada. Canadians are supportive of immigration. We can compare a 30 to 40 per cent approval of Donald Trump’s Muslim ban, border wall and limited immigration with a strong repudiation about similar sentiments held by Maxime Bernier and the so-called Canada Party. We Canadians are supportive of immigrants, regardless of where they come
from. There was quick and round condemnation of Hockey Night in Canada commentator Don Cherry who attacked newcomers whom he said refused to wear poppies on Remembrance Day. His dismissive “you people” comment has caused him to be removed from the airwaves. The TV colour man and the defeated leader of the Conservative Party both discovered something that the survey also found. Most Canadians support immigration. This is who we are. Why should I check my credit history? - Part II by Tim St Vincent Hopefully you read part I of “Why should I check my credit history.” If not, I strongly suggest that you pull it up on the Pilipino Express web site and give it a quick read. I left off part I promising to share some stories with you of mistakes with the credit bureaus and their impacts. Recall that there are two credit bureaus. They are both private, for profit, competitive, non-government companies. So let’s start off by discussing an error I recently spotted with my own credit history. As recommended, I check my credit history with both of the credit bureaus once a year. I did this about four months ago. One of them came back fine, no issues. The other came back with four errors on it. This example shows
the importance of checking with both the bureaus. If I had stopped with just the first one, I would never have been aware of the error with the other! A financial institution I use had incorrectly reported that I had applied for credit three times within one month, and that I had missed a mortgage payment! All of this was totally incorrect, but it caused my score to drop 148 points. My wife’s credit score was similarly impacted, as she was a joint signatory on the mortgage. Note, if there is an error and it relates to a jointly held account, it is very important that the error is addressed for all of the holders of the joint account as they will all be similarly impacted! Once I had confirmed the source of the error I contacted them. (Note, always start with the source of the error; this is the easiest way to correct it. If the
source of the error disputes the error, or won’t work with you, then contact the credit bureaus.) After a few phone calls they agreed that there was an error on their end and they would correct it. It took about two months and then they advised me that all was well. Important: once you are advised that the error has been corrected, confirm that your credit score has recovered. If not, you will need to continue to work with the source of the error and/or the credit bureaus until your score has returned to its correct value. Keep in mind, as mentioned in Part I, if I were to apply for my current job with the Credit Counselling Society, with the incorrect credit score I would not have this job. My score would have been too low. Not enough people recognize the link between employability, the credit bureaus, and their credit scores. I will finish up this article with a second example of a mistake
with the credit bureaus, but the bureau itself, not the lender, made this mistake. I was delivering a workshop on “The Truth About Credit” where I advise people, among other things, on how to check their credit history. One month later I was running another workshop on “Budgeting 101” when a woman from the credit workshop came up to me to share her story. She was an unemployed surgical nurse who had been looking for work for six months and had been unsuccessful. She would always get called in for the first interview, things would go great, but she would never be contacted for a second interview. After attending the credit workshop she did as I advise and checked her credit history. One was perfect, nothing wrong with it; the one from the second credit bureau had only one thing correct, her name. Everything else was completely wrong. What happened? Someone at one of the
bureaus had cross-referenced her file with another woman, with the same name who was also a nurse! Imagine you are the hiring manager. You call the nurse for an interview. Everything goes great, before calling her back for a second interview you run a credit check on her (as she gave permission in the fine print of the job application). Everything comes back fine from the first bureau. Great! So you run her through the second credit bureau. None of her information, other than her name, matches what she told you about herself! Her address, her birthdate, her most basic information doesn’t match! You can’t take this risk, you don’t know this person – maybe she is trying to steal someone’s identity to get access to hospital records or drugs! You don’t have time to sort this out and you can’t take this risk because this woman would have the lives of patients in her hands! Your solution? You See CREDIT p7

CREDIT... See CREDIT p7 discard her application, don’t contact her again, and move on to the next well-qualified applicant. The woman who applied never hears back from you. The result? No job because of a clerical error. Once this error was spotted, the nurse contacted the bureau (the source of the error) to have it corrected. Within one month of the correction being completed she found a job. There is real value in checking your credit history once a year with both credit bureaus. It is free

and has no impact on your credit score. The perfect feng shui wallet Money is a form of energy that is given and taken, spent and saved, acquired and lost. But, if you find that you have had a tough time holding on to your hardearned cash, or that you have too little of it in your wallet, it could be you need some good wallet feng shui. It stands to reason that if your wallet is a symbol of your finances, it’s a good idea to see what your financial symbol is actually symbolizing. Does it symbolize that money is hard to see? Or worse – hard to get? If you can get into your wallet quickly, so can money. If you can’t, money will have a hard time getting in there, too. Is there a perfect wallet out there with great feng shui? There are certain qualities that make some wallets better than others, that’s for sure. These tips explain good wallet feng shui, including how to select a wallet that will work for you, helping you attract and hold onto more money. I see dollar signs Yep, you can bet that if you can see money, money sees you. If you have to play hide and seek with your cash, you can bet money is hiding from you. One of the best wallets is the wallet where you see your money as soon as you open it. Make sure that you can see your bills, coins, and credit cards easily, and then money will make sure it can get to you. The confused wallet This is the wallet that is hard to tell which way to open. They often have a middle section for credit cards. These are a type of wallet that can look like it’s upside down when it’s open, depending on which way you turn it. If you have this kind of wallet, you’re likely confused, and so is
your money. Get a wallet where you clearly know which side is up and which side is down, which side is the front and which side is the rear. The best wallet Is there a singular best wallet? Yes, there is, and that is the wallet that works for you and that works for your money. When you work for your wallet, meaning that it’s hard to see the bills, tough to dig out those one-pound or Euro coins or quarters, then something is wrong. That’s your wallet working against you. If you can see your bills, get to your coins without using tweezers, and pull out your ID and your credit cards without breaking a nail, well, then, that’s the best wallet. The balanced wallet This wallet is neither too big nor too small. When they’re too small, so is your bank account. A wallet with 15 or more credit card slots is too big. Too many slots and not enough space for bills means more bills, as in credit card bills. Look for a wallet that carries your most-used credit or debit cards. Less is more with credit cards. If you need more room for membership cards, like Costco or insurance, carry that in a separate card carrier. My favourite women’s wallet This wallet is often called the continental style. This opens with a flap or a zipper and displays credit cards on either side of the paper money. Your bills are open and easy to see. There is often a divider for the small and large bills. The coin purse is usually zippered and may be in the middle. Another variation of this wallet is called continental flap. This may have a snap front or a flap that lifts up away from
the divided sections of the centre. The flap usually has an ID area and open slots for credit cards. There will often be a divider for paper bills and a zipper or clasped coin area. My hands-down favourite wallet It’s the continental flap with the kiss clasp coin section I can see everything – bills, coins, and cards easily – and get to my ID quickly. Here’s a quick tip, and one TSA agents comment on almost every time I go through airport security. Put a clear piece of packing tape on your ID and double back on it so it’s not sticky and is double-sided. You can pop your ID out of your wallet quickly and not bend your nail back or stand there trying to fight with it. For years, I have been buying the Ted Baker Matinee style wallets. They’re a good example of the continental flap style wallet, and they are so easy to use. Another benefit? They always have a sweet saying inside, like “See a penny pick it up for luck.” My favourite men’s wallet The wallet that I like best for men fits a lot of the same criteria that it does for women. It needs to be easy to use. The ID should be easy to get to, and I like the ones that have an ID flap for their ease of use. I also like a divided wallet so large and small bills can be sorted. As for double-fold
or triple-fold, I think the double fold is more auspicious and more comfortable to sit on. I don’t like a man’s wallet to be too small, and the triple-fold makes the wallet too small and compacted. Wallet colour Without question, the colour has to be red. We want our money to be activated, working and excited! Red is the colour that does all three of those things. A red wallet inside a woman’s purse also activates her handbag, so that’s a double benefit. For men, it’s not always easy to find a red wallet, and for a lot of guys, carrying a red wallet might not be something they’d be willing to do, but if you are a guy and you’re willing and a bit daring, why not? I’ve seen some men’s wallets that are black and red on the inside – that’s also a great combination because the red is where the money is. FENG SHUI Q&A Question: A single friend of mine doesn’t believe in feng shui but has miserable luck in her life. Her birthday is coming up. Is there something I can give her for her birthday to help her attract better luck in her life? Answer: Aren’t you a great friend! She’s lucky to have you, that’s for sure. Sometimes we want good fortune for others more than we do for ourselves. That’s especially true of our children.
Some people are closed off and not open and receptive to good fortune. I’ve learned that when we constantly expect the worst in life, the universe gives it to us. Never ask – “what else can happen,” because something else certainly will! Now, back to your question. I’d buy something for your friend that you like because, as my mother used to tell me, if you like it, your friend will probably like it, too. Buy her something pretty with auspicious symbols. I especially like butterflies because they represent a rebirth and they’re also a wonderful symbol of love – and since you say she’s single, it might just be the symbol she needs to attract a special someone. It might also help your friend “turn over a new leaf.” I hope so. She’s already got a good start with you as her friend. Igalang ang Remembrance Day (Itago muna ang mga parol) Kailan ba talaga ang appropriate na timing sa paglalagay ng Christmas decorations at pagpapatugtog ng mga mga pamaskong awitin kung tayo ay nasa Canada? Alam kong hindi ito question noong nasa Pilipinas pa tayo dahil kapag sumpapit na ang “ber” months ay nagsisimula na tayong magpatugtog ng mga Christmas carols, naglalagay ng mga parol, nagtatayo ng Christmas tree at nagpapailaw ng mga Christmas lights. Napakahaba nga daw ng celebration ng Pasko sa Pilipinas. Although tinatanggap at nirerespeto ng bansang Canada ang diversity at niyayakap nito ang iba’t ibang kultura, sa palagay ko ay dapat din tayong mag-adjust ng ating mga kinagawian kapag tayo ay nandirito na. Hindi ulit nakagisnan na natin ang ilang mga tradisyon ay ipagpapatuloy natin ang mga ito sa Canada kahit na nakaka-offend tayo sa ibang mga Canadians. Bakit napaka-sagrado ng Remembrance Day sa Canada?
Ang Remembrance Day ay araw ng paggunita sa kabayanihan ng mga sundalo na lumaban sa giyera noong First World War partikular ang mga bansang kasama sa Commonwealth tulad ng Canada. Bakit November 11th? Noong 1918, ay nagtapos ang giyera sa 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. Maraming mga sundalo mula sa mga Commonwealth na bansa ang nagbuwis ng buhay para makamit ang kalayaan, sovereignty at demokrasya na atin ngayong tinatamasa bilang mga immigrants. Tulad ng mga bayani natin sa Pilipinas, napakahalaga ng mga iniambag ng mga sundalo noong First World War upang magkaroon ng matibay na pundasyon ang Canada. Ang Remembrance Day ay gumugunita rin sa lahat ng mga veterans ng sandatahang lakas ng Canada. Marami tayong mga peacekeepers sa Middle East ang nagbuwis ng buhay para tumulong sa kapayapaan ng mundo.
Ang Remembrance Day ay sagradong paggunita ng kamatayan ng mga sundalong nagtanggol sa bansang ito na atin ngayong bagong tahanan. Tanong: Marapat ba na magdiwang tayo ng sobrang aga ng Pasko habang ang majority ng mga Canadians ay mataimtim na nagdadasal at naggugunita ng kamatayan ng mga bayani? Igalang ang Canadian tradition Tulad ng paggalang sa atin ng bansang ito sa ating sariling kultura, sana ay ibalik din natin ang respeto sa mga nakaugaliang tradisyon o practices ng Canada. Bagamat walang nasusulat na batas na nagbabawal sa maagang pagdiriwang ng pasko ay dapat siguro nating bigyan ng konsiderasyon ang mga kaugaliang kinalakihan na ng mga Canadians bago pa man tayo dumating dito. Huwag nating bastusin ang sagradong tradisyon na nakaugat na sa kasaysayan ng Canada. Kung akala ninyo ay masyadong “oa” or overacting naman ang aking pananaw tungkol sa Remembrance Day at pagdiriwang ng Pasko ay medyo nagkakamali po kayo. Noong
una ay hindi ko mapagtanto o ma-realize kung bakit ganoon na lamang ang kaugalian ng mga Canadians tungkol sa maagang pagdiriwang ng Pasko hanggang sa later on ay naramdaman ko at napatunayan base sa aking mga karanasan ang kahalagahan ng Remembrance Day para sa mga Canadian families. Sa 11th hour Habang isinusulat ko ito ay inabot ako ng alas onse ng tangahali ngayong November 11th. Itinigil ko ang aking pagsusulat at nakipagkwentuhan sa aking mga anak tungkol sa Remembrance Day. Tinanong ko sila ng significance ng Remembrance Day sa kanilang buhay at naglaan kami ng ilang saglit ng katahimikan bilang paggunita sa mga bayaning sundalo. Sabi ni Franco at Francis, “It’s the sacred hour to honour our Canadian soldiers who fought for the freedom of this country”, How did you observe your 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month? Magkano ka ba? May mga taong binabase ang kanilang halaga kung paano sila tinatrato ng ibang tao, kung ano na ang narating nila sa buhay, kung gaano na karami ang kanilang pera at ari-arian. Kaya nga nasasaktan sila kung kaunti lang ang “likes” nila sa mga pino-post nila sa Facebook. Nagtatampo sila kapag binigo sila ng tao, hindi sila naimbita sa malaking party, hindi sila nabati noong birthday nila o binale-wala ang kanilang imbitasyon. Kapag nalugi sa negosyo, natanggal sa trabaho, o biglang nagkaroon ng pinansyal krisis, kung anong bagsak ng kabuhayan ng ibang tao, gayon din ang bagsak ng pagpapahalaga nila sa kanilang sarili. Pakiramdam nila wala na silang silbi sa buhay. Nakakalungkot na may mga taong nagpapakamatay kapag na fire out sila sa trabaho. Kapag hindi naabot ang pangarap, hindi nakuha ang posisyong ina-asam asam, parang naguho na ang
buong mundo ng ibang tao. Alam n’yo bang ang mga bagay na kadalasang pinagbabasehan natin ng ating halaga ay hindi maasahan. Nagbabago ang mga ito. Hindi tayo makakasigurado sa ekonomiya. Maaaring maganda ang takbo ng negosyo mo ngayon pero paano kung biglang bumagsak ang ekonomiya sa Canada? Paano kung biglang nagkasakit ka at hindi mo na kayang magtrabaho at unti-unting nawawala ang kabuhyan mo? Paano kung niloko ka ng partner mo sa negosyo at tinakbo ang pera mo? Paiba-iba rin ang trato ng tao sa atin. Maaaring kaibigan mo sila ngayon pero bukas ay kaaway mo na. Alam naman natin na maaaring masira ang ugnayan ng tao dahil lamang sa maliit na bagay. May mga magasawa na nangakong magiging tapat hanggang kamatayan pero ngayon ay hiwalay na at hindi nagkikibuan. Ang mga dating
mag-BFF ay mortal enemies na. Sa biblia, mababasa na tinanghal ng mga Hudyo si Hesus bilang kanilang Hari. Nakasakay si Hesus sa isang kabayo sa Herusalem. Winelcome at pinangaralan siya ng mga tao. Hindi nagtagal ang mga taong nagtanghal sa kaniya ang siya ring nagpapako sa kaniya sa krus. Ang mga taong kaniyang pinagaling, binigyan ng pagasa, pinakitaan at ginawaan ng kabutihan ang siyang sumisigaw na ipapako siya sa krus. Mahalaga sa atin ang sasabihin ng tao. Lalo pa tayong mga Pinoy – ayaw nating napipintasan kaya nakikiuso tayo. Mahilig tayo sa mga gamit na mamahalin ang brand tulad ng Michael Kors, Coach, Prada, Lacoste at kung anu-ano pa. Wala namang masama na bumili at magkaroon ng mamahaling mga gamit lalo na kung kaya naman ng budget natin pero minsan kahit hindi na kaya ng bulsa natin, bibili pa rin tayo para lang ma-approve tayo sa mga kakilala natin, para lang huwag mapintasan. Kaibigan nakakapagod ang palaging nakikiuso para lang gumanda ang pakiramdam
natin. Malalaos din ang mga mamahaling gamit na binibili natin ang at may bago na namang lalabas. Tapos mapipilitan na naman tayong bumili. Nagiging cycle na. Ang ating halaga ay hindi nanggagaling sa tao at sa mga gamit. Hindi rin ito nababase sa kung sino ang kakilala natin, sa mga bagay na nalalaman natin at sa mga ginagawa natin. Ang ating halaga ay nagmumula sa Diyos na siyang lumikha at nagbigay ng hininga sa atin. May DNA tayo ng Diyos na Makapangyarihan. Ang sabi sa biblia, tayo ay obra maestro ng Diyos at kamanghamangha ang ating pagkakalikha. Ang sabi sa biblia sa Mateo 10, “Hindi ba ipinagbibili ng isang kusing ang dalawang maya? Ngunit isa man sa kanila ay hindi nahuhulog sa lupa na hindi batid ng inyong Ama. At maging ang mga buhok sa inyong ulo ay bilang na lahat ng Diyos. Huwag kayong matakot; kayo ay higit na mahalaga kaysa maraming maya.” Noong unang panahon, nagkakahalaga ang isang maya ng kalahating kusing Batid ng Diyos
ang nangyayari sa kaniyang nilikha na napakaliit ang halaga sa paningin ng tao. Lalo pa kaya ikaw na nilikha sa larawan ng Diyos? Kaya, kaibigan, huwag mong hayaan na ang ibang tao o bagay ang magdikta ng iyong halaga. Nilikha ka ng Diyos. Walang katulad mo. May dakilang plano ang Diyos sa iyong buhay. Kevin Lamoureux, Terry Duguid, Dan Vandal, and Jim Carr, na ayon sa balita ay may mabigat na karamdaman. Noong nakaraang Trudeau majority government ay inabot daw ng about one month bago napili ang head ng mga department sa ilalim ng Prime Minister. Nabalita noong nakaraang second week ng November na ang mga re-elected at hindi pinalad ay tinawag daw ng PM sa Ottawa. Naalala ko tuloy ang sinabi noon ng former high ranking LP leader, Lloyd Axworthy. Malaki daw ang possibility na mga may pinag-aralan at/o nakakaalam ng mga batas ay maging cabinet member. May nakakita kay Angel sa isang grocery na namimili ng mga importanteng produkto, may kinuha silang lugar para sa pag-aatado ng mga pambigay, pagkatapos ay nakipag-ugnayan na sila sa mga opisyales ng mga lugar na nilindol. Napakagandang puso. Minsan man ay hindi natin nakita ang aktres na ipinaglaladlaran sa publiko ang mga branded niyang kagamitan. Mayroon siya, marami, pero hindi niya ipinamumukha sa buong bayan ang kung anumang mayroon siya. Pero sa panahon ng kalamidad ay tahimik siyang kumikilos, hindi niya iyon pinakukunan ng
coverage sa anumang istasyon, nagsisimula at natatapos ang pagmamagandang-loob niya nang walang fanfare. Yun ang pagkakaiba ni Angel Locsin sa mga kasabayan niyang mga artista. Tahimik siyang tumutulong, hindi niya ipinaaalam sa kanan niyang kamay ang ginagawa ng kaliwa, doon naguugat ang tunay na indulhensiya sa pagtulong. Sabi nga ng mga kaibigan naming sumasaludo sa kagitingan ng mga ginagawa ni Angel Locsin,
“Kung gaano siya kaganda, ganoon din kaganda ang kalooban niya.” Ganoon ang tunay na indulhensiya ng pagtulong, iyon ang binibilang ng Diyos, ang kusang-loob na pag-ayuda nang walang anumang kapalit at walang pagpapabango ng pangalan para sa kandidatura. Si Angel Locsin ang tunay na ehemplo ng isang taong magandang-maganda na ay busilak pa ang kalooban. – CSF
