Hi! I’m Pina Russo, marketer and visual artist with a deep passion for shoe illustration.

My father was a shoemaker who learned the craft in Italy, post-World War II, when the country flourished as a high-end shoemaking epicenter. Family heritage, quality and expert craftsmanship became part of my family’s culture as I grew up.

I personally love unusual designs, the more extravagant, the better. I used to go shoe shopping with my dad one who could spend hours explaining what to choose one model over another, measuring different styles and buying them! He was the only person who owned more shoes than me!

Combining my passions, I created my first online footwear design course: it will take you through all the processes involved in designing a variety of footwear styles.

You’ll start by looking at how shape and function affect footwear design and learn drawing techniques to enable you to develop your own design ideas.
