In 2006 a group of fans from Original Trilogy created Dawn of the Dead Ultimate Edition Volume 2. Spread over four DVDs, it was a companion to the recently released Ultimate Edition Box Set, collating commentary tracks, documentaries and features that were not included in it. This set is an updated version of that project, containing all the features used in Volume 2, with HD footage where possible and additional content. Japanese TV Version of Dawn of the Dead. This uses the unedited audio with a HD picture, however the audio has been cleaned up and enhanced. It was shown on 16th October 1980 by Tokyo Broadcasting Systems (TBS) and has not been aired since. It begins with a two-minute “explanatory” introduction by movie critic Tetsuya Fukazawa. It was retitled Zombie – Earth SOS Dead Rising and credits Dario Argento as the Director. It misses most of the violence and also large segments, presumably to bring the running time down to 90 minutes. The main difference however is it replaces the original score with tracks from Yes’ Tales from Topographic Oceans, Jean Michel Jarre’s Equinoxe albums and four of Goblin’s themes from Suspiria. The dialogue was also redubbed in Japanese. The following presentation contains English subtitles, however these are based on the English language audio and are not a translation of the Japanese dubbed audio.

G4 Icons - George A. Romero - This is Episode 8 from Season 4 of this show that aired on G4 on 31st October 2005. Clive Barker’s A-Z of Horror - This is the first part of Episode 3, titled Kingdom Of The Dead, from the BBC TV Show broadcast in 1997. It focuses on Night of the Living Dead and features interviews with George A. Romero. Son of The Incredibly Strange Film Show - This is Episode 6 from Season 2 of this UK TV Show that aired on Channel 4 on 27th October 1989. It features George A. Romero & Tom Savini. Mall Tour with David Emge, Ken Foree & Lenny Lies Airstrip Tour with David Emge, Ken Foree & Jim Krut Q&A - This is the 22 year cast reunion of Dawn of the Dead from Cinema Wasteland in September 2000. It contains interviews, questions and answers and clips from the movie. Dawn of the Dead Laserdisc supplementary material (27 mins) - This is a collection of the supplementary material included on the Elite Collector’s Edition Laserdisc, released in 1996. It includes original theatrical trailers, TV spots, radio spot, scenes from the Argento cut, a readable original shooting script, still photos, posters, collectibles and fan testimonials. German Super 8 - The following is a transfer of the German Super 8 Version of Zombie aka Dawn of the Dead. This was produced on three Super 8 reels from UFA and runs for 45 minutes. The German language audio has been replaced with English language. Full credit goes to Spookydaz at WGON. Japanese Explained Opening - When shown theatrically in Japan this opening ‘explosion in space’ scene was added by Herald Enterprises, explaining that the radiation from the explosion caused the Zombie outbreak. Japanese TV Introduction - When the Suspiria version of Dawn of the Dead was shown on Japanese TV on 16th October 1980 it was introduced by movie critic Tetsuya Fukazawa, who explained the Zombie epidemic to the audience. George A. Romero’s Introduction to Dawn of the Dead from UK TV 1997 (8 mins) - The following is an introduction by George Romero to an airing of Dawn of the Dead on BBC 2 in the UK. Biohazard 2 Trailer - In 1997 George Romero directed a trailer for Resident Evil 2, aka Biohazard 2, which aired on TV in Japan. Included are two versions of the trailer and a making of documentary.
