elcome to our second issue! After the rapid success of the first one, we were double excited to release this one. On our cover you see Sarah Nesbitt, and she is a fabulous local entrepreneur who has a special feature in our centerfold as well. Our music focus, rising superstar Christine Campbell spent a lot of her time opening up for Chantal Kreviazuk— quite an accomplishment if I do say so. There are some great things coming up for PinkBlitz Magazine, that’s for sure. This month, we’re participating in the Children’s Wish Foundation Charity Miniputt. As the majority of us are moms, you can only imagine how close to our hearts this cause is, so we’re jumping in with both feet! One new thing that I’ll mention for this issue is a dedication. I dedicate this issue to my nanny, Linda Babkirk, who we lost very quickly shortly after Mother’s Day of this year. Between the two issues. She was a beautiful, remarkable woman who praised me and my work until the very end. She will be loved and sadly missed for the rest of our lives, and it’s with honor that I dedicate this issue to her. Thank you again for your support and encouragement, and stay tuned for great things coming with and from PinkBlitz Magazine. Editor-in-Chief, Lilly Babineau

ne of the biggest mistakes any job seeker can make is to believe that their portfolio or resume will do all the speaking for them when they get to their interview. Whether or not you want to accept it, the truth is that employers look at everything about you- from the way your hair is done to whether or not you bothered to polish the back of your shoes. Yes! They pay attention to that.

t’s almost that time of year again. That time that all women of different shapes and sizes dread most. Bathing suit season. Each year, women are tasked with finding swimwear that is both fashionable and flattering. The thought of trying to find a decent suit and then wearing it in public is humiliating for those who don’t think they have the bodies to pull it off. We are all in search for that “eureka” moment we get in the fitting room when we find the perfect bikini. The media world has an ideal type and with air brushed models sporting swimsuits all over the newsstands it’s hard not to feel compared. The trick to finding the best bikini is to find a style and fit that best works with your body. Every woman has areas she’s not confident with and it’s easy to get caught up with what we consider “flaws”, but don’t let that distract you from all your great assets. Take a look in a full length mirror and choose your areas you want to downplay and those you want to highlight. This will help you when choosing the right bikini. The most important thing is to be comfortable in your bikini, because if you’re confident wearing it, you will be sexy. To be a bathing beauty no matter what size you are, here are a few bikinis dos and don’ts to help in search of the perfect bikini.
Burning doesn’t look hot on anyone, so lather on the sunscreen throughout the day.
Some overall, Dos and Don’ts that everyone should consider; Your bikini should never look like it came from your lingerie drawer. Too many straps and ties will leave you with a maze of tan lines. Few two piece bikinis fit the same size on top and bottom. Opt for pieces you can buy separately to properly fit. Leave thong bikinis to the celebrities. They show more than most people want to see. Keep your footwear simple with flip-flops or wedges. Leave the high heels at home. DO rock your bikini with big earrings and a fabulous pair of sunglasses. Burning doesn’t look hot on anyone, so lather on the sunscreen throughout the day. Remember ladies, sexy is a frame of mind so wear your bikini with confidence and embrace your inner goddess.
For those fabulous curvy girls; • Don’t choose high cut bottoms. This makes your thighs look fuller than they are. Choose a full bottom or boy shorts in a dark color. If you are shorter, stay away from boy shorts as these cut across your leg making them appear shorter. • Stay away from large prints. Small uniform patterns are more flattering. • Horizontal lines on a bikini actually gives the illusion of an hourglass shape. • To avoid the dreaded muffin top, pick a suit that sits higher on your waist. Low rise bottoms actually emphasize your thicker middle section. • For elegant coverage, try a sarong.
For the busty babes; (Pear shaped / Triangle) • Seek support and coverage. You can’t pull off a teeny weeny triangle bikini. • Halter style bikini tops and underwire are your best friend. Both create great cleavage and lift. • If you want to downplay a large

bust, choose a dark color or small pattern. If you need to balance out your bottom, pick a brighter bottom color. • Stay away from embellishments, bows and ruffles up top. This adds fullness.
For a fuller bottom; (Apple shaped / inverted triangle) • Choose a dark color in a boy short or full cut. High cuts will only emphasize your waistline and thighs. • Stay away from bows, ties and any embellishments. This adds fullness. • To bring attention up, wear a bright color for your bikini top.
Tall; • Bright colors and embellishments add fullness and curves • Minimize the distance between top and bottom. A shorter top should be paired with a higher waist bottom and vice versa.
Petite; • Stay away from boy shorts or skirted bottoms. This makes your legs look shorter. Go for high cut bottoms, this will elongate your legs. Bows, ties and ruffles will add curves. • Do include details and prints that keep the look flirty and girly. • Bandeau tops are great for petite girls, it adds curves. A padded bikini top will add fullness. • Don’t just go with solids, they won’t add definition to your shape. • Vertical lines will only emphasize a straight figure.

ow many times have you gone out in your favorite pair of heels, thinking you look fierce, feminine and fabulous only to end up hobbling around, knees bent forward and a look of distress on your face? Rather than looking like the confident and sexy woman you really are, you just look uncomfortable and miserable. The peplum style dresses establish more of an hourglass silhouette to define your shape. Girls, show me those hips! Never disregard the use of accessories, we find the use of waist belts and jackets to complete some of the new outfits for the new collection. The belts give a more defined shape to the models to further show off the hourglass look. Different textiles always look good on the runway. We can see that Calvin Klein has not ignored this factor as their new collection demonstrates many different and chic textures. Various patterns alongside layered fabrics are present within the new 2013 Spring Collection. Apart from layering patterns, Calvin Klein has also incorporated swirling, and stripes of fine leather within their designs. ressing day to night sound relatively easy, but how many of us actually know how to successfully make an office outfit club ready? Here are a few tips on how you can turn a decent business outfit into a fun and sexy ensemble for your night out.
Shoes
Blazers
Dresses / skirts
Don’t underestimate the power of the heels. Just a change of heels can make bring out the outing look you are looking for. Try heels that have that pop art color: red, deep blue, yellow. These colors are fun and give you that edge look that you’re looking for.
Blazers are lifesavers when it comes to making an outfit great for work. You can wear it over almost anything. After work just take it off and you’ve got a whole new look.
Wearing a dress to work with a blazer over it can make it extremely easy for you to transition from your day to night outfits. Skirts can also make it easy to switch from daywear to eveningwear. Try pencil skirts. They make you look very professional as well as very sexy.
Accessories
If you’re wearing your hair up at work, wear it down for the night. Some messy waves make you look more relaxed and ready to have some fun.
Switching up the accessories you’re wearing is quick and easy and can change your whole outfit around. Try wearing a big necklace or bangles for your night out.
Hair
The key to a quick change from business to party is having a versatile closet. When shopping for clothes, try imagining all the outfit possibilities that you could make with what you are buying. Having the perfect combination of clothing can solve that time issue that you might be having.

Da ti n g Yo u r Best Fr ie n d

I
have never dated my best friend. Although, believe me I would have in a heartbeat if I had been given the chance. Now, I never managed (or tried really) to get myself out of the “friend zone”, but I’ve had the experience of being involved with several “friends-turnedcouple” relationships. Trust me they can get complicated and difficult.
If you’re like me, you tend to categorize the types of relationships out there. You have everything from: “Love at First Sight”, “Hookup Turned Real”, “Gradual Fall” and finally “Should Have Done This Years Ago ”relationships. Dating your best friend generally falls into the “Should Have Done This Years Ago” category.
Don’t badmouth him to his special friends in the group. You know its true; in a group of friends we are closer to some then others. If he is pissing you off for some reason, try not to complain to friends who are going to empathize with him. Just in general, please try not to negatively criticize, badmouth or complain about him to anyone in your group. Keep the relationship problems away from your mutual friends as much as possible, it is much healthier for the sanity of the group.
I have had enough friends-turned-couple to know that when you date your best friend, it will usually start out as a fragile relationship. As terrible as this sounds, you have several more pitfalls to watch In regard to you… out for then other new couples. You have to navigate around the other friends in you Do not assume that just because you were social group and deal with the leap from a best friends with him before you know plutonic relationship to a romantic one. everything going on in his life. New things might pop up about him that you didn’t Here is some helpful advice when it comes know before. You cannot blame him for to dating your best friend. hiding things when you were ‘just friends’. Also, under no circumstance tell anyone In regard to friends… the privileged information that he confides in you. You’re his girlfriend now, and Keep the PDA minimal. The people you girlfriends are entitled to information not grew up with aren’t going to appreciate meant for friends. If he trusts you with seeing two of their best friends sucking a secret you cannot run and tell a mutual face in front of them. Not only is a lot of friend his like you may have done in the PDA classless anyways, but watching two past. people you know and love get physical is just uncomfortable.
Try not to get nervous the first time you have sex. Unless you two have hooked up in the past for one reason or another, you may think the first time you have sex will be awkward and uncomfortable. It doesn’t have to be. To keep the sex not awkward (and good), wait until you are both totally comfortable in taking that next step. Do not rush into it.
Remember that you were friends first. Yes, you are now involved in a new type of relationship. But you were friends before lovers and no matter what happens in your relationship.

BY MARISA ECHAVARRI Condoms. Condoms are one of the most important tools when it comes to contraception. You should always have the man wear a condom when you are having sex with someone for the first time. When you sleep with someone, you are sleeping with everyone he has ever slept with, so protect yourself from STI’s and pregnancy with a condom. Pros: 99% effective at preventing pregnancy and STI’s when worn correctly, multiple brands and types for your personal pleasure, can sit in your closet for along time without “going bad”, come in different materials in case you are allergic to latex. Cons: Sex usually doesn’t feel as good, male can experience flaccidness when putting them on, expensive.
Marisa tip!: Get tested for STI’s at least once a year. Even if you are sure you don’t have any STI’s it doesn’t hurt just to get blood drawn at your yearly physical to get tested. The Pill:
serious relationship…the pill will protect you from an unplanned pregnancy. Pros: 99% effective at preventing pregnancy when taken correctly, levels out your PMS and can clear up your skin. Cons: Have to stick to a strict schedule when taking them, when you’re on antibiotics they are less effective, if on certain medication for mental disorders they are less effective, can cause you to gain weight, don’t protect from STI’s.
Diaphragms: A diaphragm is an intrauterine device to protect a woman from pregnancy. It is inserted up into the vagina and blocks the sperm from entering your body. Although a lot of women have not been using diaphragms recently, they are making a comeback in the contraceptive world. Pros: When used correctly is 95% effective at preventing pregnancy, can insert several hours before sex (in case you are anticipating it), don’t have to remove it from the wagina right away, comes in latex and silicone incase you are allergic to latex. Cons: Have to be fitted for it by an OBGYN, need to replace it every few years, generally need to use a spermicide with it, can cause multiple urinary tract infections.
afe. Sex. If you are anything like me, you’re not ready for a miniature you running around the house. Pregnancy is not at the top of my list at the moment, so I ensure that I keep myself safe from that risk by always having safe sex. Safe sex has more importance than just protecting against pregnancy; it can you STI free and healthy. Each contraceptive method has its pro’s and cons, and it is important to know them before you choose one.
NuvaRing: The NuvaRing is another intrauterine device. It is a hormonal birth control option in the form of a little ring inserted into the vagina. our heart is broken. You feel as though every moment spent with him was a lie; that all your happiness has disappeared so suddenly that you’re left gasping for air. It doesn’t matter if it is early on in your relationship or if you have been together for years, he cheated on you. You’re left wondering if he ever really loved you and if you are crazy for considering giving him a second chance. Before you make the decision about whether to stay with him, consider the following points.
Come to terms with it. It happened. He went out and slept with another woman. As far as I am concerned, cheating is one of the lowest things a person could do. But, he did it. Accepting that is one of the first things you have to do before you start considering your options. Cheating cannot be swept under the rug or purposely forgotten about. Say, “he cheated on me” several times to yourself, then when that fact has sunk in, take your next steps.
Take time. Please. Please, please take time. At least two weeks before you decide whether you are going to stay with him. Take two weeks, two months or a year. I don’t care if he is begging and crying for you to stay with him, give yourself the space to think everything through. If you mean anything to him, he’ll give you the time and space.
Did he tell you right away? This is the biggest factor, in my opinion, when it comes to determining your plan of action. If he comes straight out and tells you (in person) within the first 24 hours give him some credit. It usually means he is sincere in his apology; however, if you find out through someone else or if he tells you days, weeks or even months later… that is almost a definite sign that he isn’t worth a second chance. When he comes out and tells you directly it means he wants to make it better right away. That is, if he doesn’t break up with you after telling. If he doesn’t tell you immediately, it usually means he just wants the fact that it happened to disappear and for you to live in the dark.
Keep it private. I know that the first thing you want to do is text all your friends and cry your heart out. And that’s fine. Call or text two or three of your closest family or friends and let them help you through it. However, do not send out a mass text or spam Facebook and Twitter. Yes you want everyone to know how terrible he is, that’s understandable…but remember if you decide to stay with him, everyone will know what happened. You don’t want to be flooded with criticism and unwanted advice for whatever decision you choose. Just keep your information in a small group of your closest. Ladies, you need to remember it is not your fault. I don’t care if you had a fight, were having issues or about to take a big step in your relationship…he should not have done it. Now, that being said remember the above points, look into yourself and go from there in your relationship.

was watching Say Yes To The Dress on TLC the other day. It featured a lesbian couple who were both buying wedding dresses. Watching the two gorgeous women find their perfect dresses got me thinking about homosexual stereotypes.
Watching the show triggered the memory of this stereotype about lesbian women: that lesbian couples always have a “butch” and a “femme”. A butch lesbian is generally the more masculine of the pair, with more resemblance to a man. A femme is also known as a “lipstick lesbian” and is extremely feminine and into her hair, looks and fashion. A common misconception is that femmes are only attracted to butch and visa versa. This is not the case. As seen on Say Yes To The Dress, femmes can be attracted to and paired with other femmes while butches can be paired and attracted to other butches.
and appearance. Being homosexual does not define a person’s entire personality; a gay man can be just as into sports and “butch” activities as a straight man. A gay and straight man can be the same in every single way except for their sexual and romantic preferences.
Another belief out there is that gay men are all into drugs, being promiscuous and having unprotected sex, and unable to achieve long term relationships. The idea of Party and Play (PNP) refers to a small subculture in the gay community where men use drugs (meth, MDMA or GHB), go to clubs and then have group orgies. There is a similar stereotype with men. This is only a small group within the gay That there is always a “feminine” and community and the majority of gay men “masculine” man in the relationship. do not participate in these activities. In There are plenty of homosexual relationfact, it has been shown that approximately ships that have feminine and feminine men 40%-60% of gay men are involved in long together and masculine and masculine term and steady relationships. A study in men together. 2007 showed that gay men had the same amount of unprotected sex as straight Building off the stereotype above, there men and women and not more like is comis the common misconception that all gay monly believed. men are flamboyant, outgoing and loud. People believe that gay men are obsessed A lesbian stereotype still perceived in towith fashion and wearing the hottest deday’s society is that lesbians have a differsigner clothes; however, there are plenty ent psychology and lifestyle than straight of gay men not interested in fashion, hair people. There is the common belief that
the majority of lesbians have been sexually abused as children, leading them to shy away from men. I am not saying that some lesbians were not sexually assaulted as children, but not all of them were; they were just born with a preference for women. Also, not all lesbians hate men and have “penis envy”, don’t shave their legs, listen to the Indigo Girls and watch The L Word. Be careful when it comes to stereotypes in general. Although there is sometimes truth to stereotypes, they can be cruel and hurtful, so avoid spreading them whenever possible.

ave you ever had an uncomfortable talk with someone? Perhaps you’ve walked in on someone in an awkward position - Like the time I caught my roommate making sock puppet movies. Or maybe you need to tell a friend that they should re-apply their deodorant, or clean their apartment before the ants start a rebellion. On the other hand, maybe you have something very serious and important to tell someone. Maybe you’re pregnant, gay, getting married, or all of the above. These kinds of topics can be difficult to approach without sounding disrespectful or offensive, and you could be fearful and anxious of how certain people will react to your news. No matter what your conversation is about, here are some ground rules that will help you navigate the proverbial mine field with as few casualties as possible.
#2 Be prepared for anything:
respectful of that. - Which leads me to my next rule.
Practicing a conversation beforehand is a great way to prepare yourself for possible outcomes. However, people are not always as predictable as you think. So be prepared. Have a response ready for all possible reactions. Being prepared will help to ease some of the anxiety you may be feeling, and it will help you to be ready for what’s ahead.
#4 Be Respectful:
#1 Plan Ahead:
#3 Be Open Minded:
Planning your conversation ahead of time may sound odd and mechanical. However, when it comes to difficult conversations, it’s best to make sure that everyone is in the right frame of mind to receive what is being said. Timing is key when approaching a sensitive subject. The last thing you want to do is catch the person off-guard, and then not allow proper time to process and react to what has just been said. For example, It would be unwise to shout “I think you’re cheating on me” as your partner was leaving for work.
When dealing with an uncomfortable situation, ask yourself why you’re uncomfortable in the first place. Most of the time our level of discomfort is dependent on our fear of being judged. It is important to have an open mind when talking about dif- #5 Be Available: ficult issues. The oxford dictionary defines respect as “the due regard for the feelings, wishes, or rights of others.” When I asked a class of pre-schoolers what it means to be respectful of others, I received answers like “be kind; don’t call names; listen; don’t interrupt; follow the rules,” and my personal favorite, “use your words for helping - not hurting.” Being respectful to the other person involved is the most important rule of all. Don’t attack them, be nice, and consider how they are feeling throughout your conversation. Sounds pretty easy doesn’t it?

BY ANDREA MACDONNEL Main Cast: Sarah Michelle Gellar - Buffy Summers: Sarah Michelle Gellar is well known for choosing to play strong willed, independent women. However it is her role as Buffy Summers; a petite, blonde, vampire slayer who kicked some major monster ass, that people will always remember her for. After BTVS ended in 2003, SMG has been loving family life with her husband Freddie Prinze Jr. and her son and daughter, Rocky and Charlotte. In 2011 she was working on a television series: The Ringer which, despite high viewership in the beginning has since been canceled. Sarah Michelle Gellar has also been doing some voice acting for shows like Robot Chicken and American Dad. Most impressively (in my opinion) she has become the second playable female character in the Call of Duty game series. Lastly, it has been rumored that Sarah Michelle Gellar is set to act alongside Robin Williams in a new TV comedy called The Crazy Ones.
Allison Hannigan – Willow Rosenberg: Willow Rosenberg was quite possibly the most transformative character in the whole series. Willow started out as Buffy’s nerdy sidekick, became a pretty helpful witch, allowed the magic to turn her into a power hungry ‘big bad’ in Season 6, to a recovering magiholic in season 7. She eventually became so powerful that became a Goddess in the final episode. Since BTVS, Allison Hannigan has been seen in various movies like Date Movie, and American Pie. She is probably most well known for her famous ‘band camp’ stories. Allison Hannigan is currently married to her BTVS Co-star Alexis Denisof who played Giles’ replacement watcher, Wesley. Career wise, she is currently starring alongside Neil Patrick Harris in How I Met Your Mother. Nicholas Brendon - Xander Harris: Who can forget the witty, charming, and ever adorable Xander Harris? When it came to having bad luck, Xander must have had misfortune tattooed on his forehead. But despite becoming Dracula’s ‘spider eating
man bitch’, and being the recipient of a syphilis inducing tribal curse, Xander Harris remained a loyal ‘Scooby’ to the very end. Since BTVS ended, Nicholas Brendon starred in a made for TV movie entitled Celeste in the city, and is now the spokesperson for stuttering foundation of America. Anthony Stewart Head – Rupert Giles: There was always a level of mystery surrounding Giles character. As Buffy’s watcher, Rupert Giles acted as Buffy’s protector, teacher, father figure, and friend throughout the series. Buffy, along with the other scoobies, looked up to Giles and revered him with love, respect, and a little light mockery. Anthony Stewart Head is actually a classically trained actor and was always more comfortable on a Broadway or in a theatrical capacity. After BTVS concluded, Anthony Stewart Head has made small appearances in movies like Sweeney Todd, and on stage. David Boreanaz – Angel: So here’s how it goes. Buffy, the chosen one, sworn to kill vampires, falls in love with one of the most ruthless vamps in all of history – Angel. This sultry vampire, cursed by gypsies to have a soul, helped the Scooby gang by

feeding them inside information and using his superhuman strength to help battle evil. His presence also made for one of television’s most tragic love stories and paved the way for more current vampy romances. Angel went to hell and back for Buffy, and she for him. After David Boreanaz left BTVS in season 3, he began starring in the spin-off show Angel. Since then he has been starring as agent Booth in the forensic drama Bones. James Marsters – Spike: After first appearing as a villain in season 1 of BTVS, Spike was actually supposed to be killed after only a few episodes. However he became such a well-liked character that he was asked to stay on as a full time cast member. No one could ever forget Spike’s unrequited love/hate relationship with the slayer, or the lengths he went through to make her love him.
James Marsters was named sexiest vampire at the nocturnal 2K Convention in London, England. He later starred in Smallville, Torchwood, and Saving Grace. There are simply too many amazing and memorable characters to list in a small article like this. Therefore, honorable mention goes out to: Charisma Carpenter who played the loveable but flaky Cordelia Chase, and later followed David Boreanaz to the spin off show of Angel; Seth Green who played Willow’s wolfy first love – Oz; Emma Caulfield who played Xander’s quirky, ex demon girlfriend, Anya; Marc Blucas who played Buffy’s demon fighting special ops love interest in Season 4; and Michelle Trachtenberg, who played as Buffy’s monk made, fake sister, who actually turned out to be the key to the hell mouth. . .

“
Imagine being blind, and deaf at age seven.” That is how Milena (Mila) Markovna Kunis described her first years in the USA. Having been born in Chernivtsi, Ukraine (USSR) Mila Kunis immigrated with her family to the USA when she was very young. However she was old enough to remember the challenges her family had to overcome. Mila was in the second grade when she moved with her family to Los Angeles. Although Mila’s family did quite well in the Ukraine – Her mother, Elvira, was a physics teacher and her father, Mark Kunis, was a mechanical engineer, Mila’s family ultimately decided to move to the states because her parents did not see any future for Mila or her brother Michael in the Ukraine. Whether it was for a lack of opportunity, or the great deal of anti-Semitism Mila’s family faced in the former Soviet Union for being of the Jewish faith, it was apparent that the Kunis family felt compelled to leave their home and head for LA. They reportedly had only $250 US dollars in their pocket when they came to the states because that was all they were allowed to bring. Mila and Michael were enrolled in school 2 days later.
I didn’t understand the people. I didn’t understand the language.” Mila had only known one culture her whole life and had now been thrown into a new place that she didn’t know or understand. However, despite the language and culture barriers, Milena (I love her real name) worked as hard as she could to overcome those barriers and become one of the most sought out actresses in the media today.
Mila started acting only 2 years after she arrived in the states, at the age of 9, when her father decided to enroll her into an acting class at the Beverly Hills studio. It was here that she met her agent and started working on some films. When Mila was 10 years old, after appearing in a few commercials and on the soap opera, Days of our lives, she auditioned for the role of a Russian Jewish girl who moves to America in the film Make a Wish, Molly. She unfortunately did not get the chance to Arriving here from the Ukraine was not an play her own story on the big screen, but easy transition for Mila. In fact she has said she was cast in that movie as the Mexican in interviews that she had a very hard time girl, Melinda. in elementary school. “I blocked out second grade completely. I have no recollecMila continued to work on her craft by tion of it. I always talk to my mom and my appearing in television series as supportgrandma about it. It was because I cried ing characters. She appeared in a few every day. I didn’t understand the culture. Baywatch episodes, and she played the
role of Ashley on Seventh Heaven, as well as supporting roles in Santa with Muscles, Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves, and Gia, as the young Gia Carangi. In 1998, Mila Kunis’ career skyrocketed when she accepted the role as Jackie Burkhart on That 70’s Show. She worked on That 70’s Show alongside Ashton Kutcher and Topher Grace for 8 consecutive seasons. It was during this time that Mila was discovered by Seth MacFarlane and started lending her voice to the character of Meg Griffin on Family Guy. Mila played the voice of Meg Griffin for hundreds of family guy episodes and specials, as well as the family guy video game. Mila appeared in several movies between 2001 and 2008. She starred alongside Kirsten Dunst in Get Over It in 2001; she acted in American Psycho 2 in 2002 next to William Shatner. However, we can be…. happy... she didn’t…. pick up any…. bad… habits from….William Shatner. Even Mila herself has expressed embarrassment over that film. She also acted in Tina & Tony’s wedding, Moving McAllister, After Sex, and Boot Camp, None of which received great reviews. However, her bad luck was about to change.

In 2008 Mila starred in the romantic Comedy Forgetting Sarah Marshall where she played the adorable Rachel Jensen. The movie received fantastic reviews and Mila was nominated for a teen choice award for her performance. Later she acted in Max Payne next to Mark Wahlberg. However it was clear that Mila thrived more in a comedic or romantic role rather than that of a hardened crime boss. Nevertheless her resume continued to grow rapidly. Since 2009 Mila has acted in several blockbusters. Mila was nominated for several awards and won best supporting actress for her performance in Black Swan; she brought sexy back with Justin Timberlake in Friends with benefits; and she was reunited with former co-star Mark Wahlberg and family guy creator Seth MacFarlane in the movie Ted. Mila’s newest movie to date is Oz, The Great and Powerful. In this movie Mila plays Theodora, the youngest of the witch sisters. Theodora is the first person to meet the wizard when he lands in Oz, and being the naïve, innocent, and inexperienced young woman she is, Theodora falls madly in love with him. When the wizard breaks Theodora’s heart she is so destroyed by
this kind of emotional pain that she takes a potion that promises to help her rid herself of all feeling, transforming her into the wicked witch of the west. Mila’s perception and performance of the wicked witch is fresh, transformative, and very human. She allows the audience to empathize with a villain that we’ve classically only known as evil, which teaches us a lesson on judging others. Mila Kunis is not only beautiful and talented, she is also focused, driven, and creative, and she brings vibrancy and passion to every character she plays. She is by far one of my favorite Actresses. Mila Kunis is set to appear in movies like Blood Ties, The Angriest Man in Brooklyn, Third Person, and Jupiter Ascending. I, for one, can’t wait.

eep an eye out this summer for a new crime fighting comedy starring Sandra Bullock, who joins forces with an unlikely ally in order to catch a notorious bad guy. But don’t get overly excited Sandra Bullock fans! Before you start having flashbacks of extreme makeovers, Miss America pageants, and bra’s stuffed with doughnuts, we won’t be seeing a Miss Congeniality 3 any time soon. Sorry. This summer, director Paul Feig brings The Heat. Sarah Ashburn (played by Bullock) is a ‘by the book’ FBI special agent. She reluctantly teams up with Shannon Mullins (played by McCarthy); a rough around the edges, hard as nails detective with a rather hilarious sense of fashion. The two women are forced to work together in an effort to take down a dangerous drug lord. Unfortunately, neither one of them has ever had to work with a partner before... So this could get tricky. Obvious hilarity, hijinks, and shenanigans will be sure to follow as these miss-matched crime fighters learn to work together... despite each other’s quirks. Along with this all-star comedy tag team, audiences can expect to see big names like Taran Killam and Michael MacDonald from Saturday Night Live as well as new kid on the Block, Joey McIntyre. The Heat is set to be released on July 31, 2013 and is guaranteed to be a great time. So if you’re looking for a reason to get out of the house this summer, are craving the awesomeness that is theater popcorn, or just need a good laugh, go check out The Heat at a theater near. That’s where I’ll be. PinkBlitz Magazine / Issue 002 / June 1, 2013

re you shy? Well, maybe not necessarily shy but not comfortable stepping outside your everyday routine? Changing up certain aspects of your lifestyle can be a scary endeavor, but the rewards of stepping out of your comfort zone will have you feeling refreshed in no time. To start, try going out with your more outgoing friends.
Find something that inspires you.
Everybody has friends that are more outgoing then others. In my social group I am the “fun adventurous” one and have been known to drag my shyer friends out of their comfort zone. Let your outgoing friend take you out or plan an evening for you. Putting your fate into someone else’s hands may be scary, but as long as they plan well you will find yourself having a good time. You may have one thing to watch out for when submitting to your friend’s will. Make sure your friend is trustworthy; I would never ditch a friend at a club, bar or other event, but unfortunately this does happen. You do not want a bad experience to deter you from stepping out in the future. If you are going to rely on a friend to get you out of your comfort zone, make sure they are reliable.
If you are secretly passionate about something, step up and pursue it. If you nurse a secret passion for photography, take a photography class. If you love children, volunteer to tutor or mentor a student. Volunteer at homeless shelters, become a crisis counselor or just get more involved in your community. When you get out of your comfort zone, you not only benefit yourself, but the people around you as well. Experimenting with new restaurant is a fantastic and easy way to step put of your comfort zone. Try something exotic like Indian food or sushi and order something unique off the menu. And hey, if you don’t like it then you never have to go back there again.
Stepping away from what you know can be hard. It’s called the “comfort zone” for a reason. Routines help us feel safe, but if you feel like you are missing some things from life try and break away from that zone and expand your horizons.
Experimenting with new restaurant is a fantastic and easy way to step put of your comfort zone.
Make a new friend. Obviously you don’t want to contact some stranger in the street, but maybe a friendly co-worker. ot many people can relate to, or understand what it is like to live with a disability. Many of us take our good health and able bodies for granted. We could never fully know what kind of challenges and barriers that disabled individuals deal with on a daily basis. This is why I would like you all to meet Kourtney Stevenson.
C a n’ t Ho l d Us Dow n : Ko u r t n ey Steve nso n Kourtney is a 23 years old and lives with a condition known as Cerebral Palsy. Cerebral Palsy is a non-progressive condition that affects a person’s physical development. It is usually caused by damage to the motor control centers of the developing brain and can occur during pregnancy, or childbirth. However, Cerebral palsy is often undiagnosed until later on. Here is Kourtney’s story: AM: When were you born and what happened? KS: I was born on July 19, 1990. I was a twin and my sister and I were born premature. We’re not really sure what happened, or what caused the CP. We can’t be sure whether it happened in the womb, or during delivery. All we know is that I have CP. AM: When were you diagnosed? KS: I can’t remember the exact year that they discovered I had CP, but they started doing tests when I was around 6- 8 months old. My sister was developing normally. She was able to hold her head up, sit up, and roll over, but I wasn’t doing those things, so my mom started to worry and went to the doctor to see what could be done.
AM: So what has it been like growing up with a disability?
AM: If you could send a message out to the world, what would you way?
KS: Honestly, I’ve never seen myself as any different from anyone else. My mom always pushed me to do normal things with normal kids, so I never had the opportunity to feel different. I’ll admit that sometime I would see my brother and sister doing things that I couldn’t and I would get frustrated, but looking back, I wouldn’t consider myself any different from anyone else. I’m just sitting down all the time.
KS: Your dreams are your dreams, and if you don’t go after them you’ll never be satisfied. So go after your dreams and never give up. Don’t let anything hold you back.
AM: What challenges have you had to face? KS: I think the most challenging thing about being disabled is having people treat me differently because I’m in a chair. It’s been especially hard to find work because people don’t see ME they just see my chair. There are also a lot of places in Moncton that are still not wheelchair accessible (including my apartment. So getting around can be difficult at times. But that will change once I get my lift chair.

* Kourtney is one of the strongest girls I know. he first time I tried to set up my wireless printer was, in one word, a riot. It was my first year in University and I was excitedly setting up my room to reflect my bubbly and happy personality. Well, when I was setting up that printer I was far from bubbly and happy.
Volcanic and explosive pretty much sums up my mood when I was dealing with that devil of a printer. Of course I did not watch the tutorial on how to configure the wireless setting on my printer. I ignored the very simple instructions and just jumped right in. And of course after an hour of hard labor my neighbors came in and asked me why I
I ignored the very simple instructions and just jumped right in. was swearing so profusely. I wanted that printer to die, and I eventually gave up on my quest to set up my fancy wireless and just settled for plugging my computer into the printer whenever I needed to print something off. I still have that printer, it still is not wireless and I still get angry almost every time I look at it.
on the couch and watching America’s Next Top Model after a long day of school or work. But…have you ever had that life-altering moment when you flick on the TV and all you see is a fuzzy screen and hear a terrible screech coming from what should be an image of Tyra Banks and a bunch of overly dramatic models? I have. When this happened to me for the third time (well I think I should have bought a new TV) I decided to put my ignorance of TV’s to rest. Check the following things when your TV isn’t working:
How many gigabytes (GB) do you have left on your hard drive? If you have too mch information (pictures, videos, documents etc…) this can cause an overload on your computer which makes it shut down sporatically. Check to see how many GB you have left, try and keep it to over 100 available. If you have less then 100 then start clearing out those pictures and documents you don’t need anymore and your computer should be working better.
Input: You could be experiencing a fuzzy screen because you have to wrong input setting. Your remote will generally have a “TV Input” or just “Input button”. Press it and scroll through the different options to see if you find a setting with TV.
I have one thing to say: go to Tim Hortons or Starbucks. Coffee Makers are too complicated these days. Or invest in a Keurig because those thins are amazing.
Is your cable plugged in? If your TV but not your cable is plugged in/turned on you will get no image. SO check those plugs, ladies.
Always read the manual. It will save you so much trouble. Trust me, I know.
I think its needless to say that I am not an electronics person, but there are a few essential electronic items that a woman just Computers. has to know how fix when the time comes. If your computer keeps shutting down on TV’s. you there are several things that could be happening. There is nothing better then sprawling out
Coffee Makers.
Other tips
Unplug electronics when you aren’t using them. Not only will it save you money on your power bill, but also it’s environmentally friendly.

*A Marisa tip* Before you do any workouts, drink a cup of coffee or tea. Wait around fifteen minutes for the caffeine to kick in, and you’ll have the perfect amount of energy for a quick and lazy workout in the morning.

lright ladies, bikini season is coming up and we all want to look our best when we are relax at the beach. I know that I certainly want to look fit and gorgeous in my brand new Victoria’s Secret bikini.
There is only one problem with my dream. I have no desire or motivation to work out. The gym is filled with too many people, running outside is too time consuming and, frankly, annoying and personal trainers yell at you. Now if these things bother you like they bother me, it can be quite the deterrent from working out. Luckily, I have perfected the laziest yet effective workout routine around. The common theme? I can do almost all of them at home.
Exercise Videos. Okay, so these aren’t so lazy. And yet, they are a great and ‘easy’ way to keep fit. Honestly, I usually last only half the time of the routine in the video before calling it quits. But the video still serves its purpose. You don’t have to go outside or to the gym, and unless you have people over no one is going to see how much you sweat and struggle in the beginning. They do make a difference in your fitness and are fairly cheap. Plus, its fun to hate the gorgeous super athletic women who “motivate” you to work harder. Curse at them all you want! They can’t hear you!
At home ab-circuits.
You don’t have to buy a gym membership to stay fit and work out. There are plenty of easy workouts you can do at home that don’t require a lot of time or energy…aka, nice lazy activities to keep you in shape.
These are good if you are looking to get that tummy nice and tight. They are super easy to do in the morning (not that I do them then, the only thing I do before eight is drink coffee) and can range from fifteen minute to an hour. Guess the amount of time I do my circuits for. You can print out different circuit plans from the Internet that can improve pretty much any target area you pick. Also, most tablets and smart phones have ab circuit apps that you can use where you track your progress.
Walk the stairs don’t take the elevator. I never take the elevator anymore. As much as it can suck to walk up all those stairs to your office or appointment, stairs are amazing for toning your calves and butt. Stairs are easy to integrate into your lifestyle since they are everywhere. If you can walk at least part way to work then that is also a great easy exercise to do. Not to mention that walking is environmentally friendly. Oh, and props if you are doing the stairs in high heels.
