SPRING 2025

SPRING

pinnacle presbyterian church pinnaclepres.org

An Invitation from your Pastors This Spring we invite you to take some time to think of a way to get connected with some new people in our church community. This will mean different things to different people. For you, it might be introducing yourself to one new person over a cup of coffee. Or it might mean signing up to help with Sunday morning hospitality or preparing lunch after worship or maybe becoming an usher or “Ask Me” volunteer. And for some, it means joining a Bible study group or book discussion group or a choir. You might be looking for a way to volunteer with others in our community by preparing and serving meals to the unhoused at Andre House or with children at Noah Webster Schools. Lots of options! Why does this matter? It matters because part of our nurture and growth as Christians is forming relationships with one another and with God. We want to help you do that! Rev. Erik Khoobyarian, Senior Pastor Rev. Dr. Mike Hegeman & Rev. Leah Quarles, Associate Pastors

Paul's letters

ADULT FAITH FORMATION with Dr. Mike Hegeman Sundays | Jan. 12 – May 11 | 9 am | Chapel Library If you want to say hello to a friend today, you would probably text, email, call, or message them on social media. Fifty years ago you could only call or write a letter, and 150 years ago you had to put ink to paper to create correspondence. It might have even taken a month to be delivered! In the New Testament, there are 13 letters attributed to a man named Paul, and once you know his story, you’ll know what drove him to write so many letters. As the Holy Spirit guided Paul so long ago, Paul’s letters today will guide us through the urgency that the earliest Christian felt 2000 years ago to proclaim the gospel in such bold ways. Join us to learn about the apostle, messenger, and bondservant of Christ, Paul. 17

Accidental Saints – Finding God in All the Wrong People by Nadia Bolz-Weber Thursdays | Apr. 24 – May 22 | 8 am Chapel Library & Online In Accidental Saints, New York Times best-selling author Nadia Bolz-Weber invites readers into a surprising encounter with what she calls “a religious but not-so-spiritual life.” Tattooed, angry and profane, this former standup comic turned pastor stubbornly, sometimes hilariously, resists the God she feels called to serve. Erik Khoobyarian and others to discuss this provocative and engaging book. Books will be available in the Church Office and throughout the church campus for $15 starting on April 1. 24
