KOKULO BEACH CLUB is a beachfront Restaurant and Bar surrounded with pines, reefs and canal with its local community, in Khaolak, Phangnga, Thailand. With the panoramic view of the beachfront as a starting point, this project was aimed to create a place that both visitors who come to dine, drink, think or chill at this place, and people who staying in the hotel rooms in the back can both enjoy themselves with this view.

ain dining area was design M to feel like having a meal in your vacation home with an eclectic look represent through a long kitchen counter station while the dining space is set to be comfortably loose, opened and flexible for various activities.
8
_
The bar which located closer to the beach is designed to reflect the natural aesthetic. The glittering ocean surface and the horizon can be seen in the mirror wall which make the bar itself blending in with the surrounding as well. To prevent this beach club from obstructing the view from the hotel resident, we try to erase the back of the building by using the lawn on the ground continuously as a roof which make the wall seems “DISAPPEAR”. On the other side of the roof becomes space that fits in with program that link the activities and nature into the building. The shape and the space of this beach club becomes “APPEARS” to the sea. Each area under this green roof has different characters to suit its activity.
9
10
_
The triangular lap pool top is flatten as much as possible to be the same level as the beach which creates the seamless boundary to the ocean while swimming. With all design approaches mentioned earlier, this KOKULO BEACH CLUB tends to give the relaxing and blending-in experience for people who come to visit.

With the owner’s love of gardens and trees, IT’S SARA café as a place where people could experience the permeation between the indoor and the outdoor space. The intertwining of layers of each element is how the boundary between outside and inside was blurred and became almost invisible.
Year 2013-2015
Components such as lawn, plants, trees and tiles are randomly placed on smooth steps continuously from surroundings into the area under the roof.
Location Nongkhae, Saraburi, Thailand Architect IF (Integrated Field co.,ltd.)
These components also define room for the outdoor space. Meanwhile components such as roof and wall are just floating over the garden with little connections through the intentionally un-aligned slim steel columns.
Landscape Architect IF (Integrated Field co.,ltd.) Client Pimpaka Wongmanasuk Area 460 sq.m.
Translucent panels, assembled on the waffle steel structure roof, allow the natural light to interpenetrate into the covering area. Clear glass walls define the clear vision between air-conditioned volume and outside.
Role Preliminary Design, Design Development, Construction Drawing, Presentation, 3D Modelling, Site Inspection
The property and relationship of all these layers generate the space where the artificial boundary between landscape, architecture and interior is eliminated and create a simple definition of having coffee in a garden.

Hearing sound is obviously different from listening music. When various sounds are composed and state of audience is set, then the circumstance shall become a performance.
Physically, the site has a unique topographical anatomy. We place the public facilities along the ridge, cascaded and shuffled down the contour. As the ridge line is located almost in the center of the site, it helps enhancing ease of access for the guest from accommodation area. Guests will walk down through the gap between buildings, facing eastward and northward to the ocean, experiencing a momentous journey through different scenes.
As an architect, we seek to find the profile angle of approaching the nature; To create the architecture as the instrument. To invite the nature to be the musician. To define the whole place as the cosmic theatre. By witnessing the nature performance, body would be healed and the soul would be purged. And it is obviously different from merely observing the pure nature.
As a composer, the whispering sound from the site cannot be disregarded. We need to understand the orientation and topography to be able to create the memorable shows.

Act 1 : The Welcome Light
Act 2 : The Dancing Wind
Act 3 : The Healing Water
Act 4 : The Fiery Rock
Act 5 : The Permeating Ground
As the top part of the land, one can have experience the morning light from the east and evening light from the west without obstruction. The entering is committed to offer guest the personalized experience during the different daytime. When the sun starts choiring the hall, which located in perfect east-west condition on the highest part of the ridge, the light will create different atmosphere through the day.
A beach front hill is expected an immense amount of wind and the lobby pavilion is located there to visualize them. With its lightness, the ceiling element is able to generates the tangible flow of the wind that blows through the void on the pavilion roof.
The swale is a concrete evidence which reveal the trace of water that run through the site. The stone weirs are piled up to create the waterfall effect in rainy season and let the local vegetations grow during dry season. The wellness spa will witness this natural perpetually change.
Down to the sea, the rock-scape along the coastline become the signature dining scene at the very signature geological site’s element. Edge and angle as well as calm and strength, all these properties will be highlighted by the movement of the flame.
The villa that challenge the usual way of resort living. Introduce a guest an ambiguous sense between interior and exterior, bring back the true sense of tropical living space. The rooms are set apart in different angle as fit in variant landform. Increase the flexibility of building allocation in different site condition.
