A SECOND CHANCE IN THE RING While it’s Rachael Mogielski’s first ever Pinto World Championship® show here in Tulsa, OK, traveling here was certainly not always her original plan. It all began when one of her horses threw her off during a ride which caused her to break two vertebrae, suffer a bad concussion and fear the possibility of never walking again. “It was really scary,” Mogielski said. “The doctors came into my room every hour to make sure I still had feeling below the waist.” This accident caused Mogielski to be bed ridden and go through months of learning to live a normal life, During this time nothing could compare to the therapy of Mogielski’s mini, LITTLE DAISY BANDIT, also known as “Bella.” “Bella could tell I was hurting,” said Mogielski. “She went from being feisty, slightly difficult and a little pushy to being extremely gentle when we were around each other.” Mogielski said she always wanted to show Bella in Pinto shows and while she was bed-ridden she would watch videos of people driving their minis. It was at this time she decided the pair was destined to travel to the PWC. “My mind was set to compete in Tulsa,” said Mogielski. “It was a chance to ease back into showing and take Bella somewhere with more competition.” According to Mogielski, she couldn’t move in bed without assistance from her parents,
so getting back into the barn was her ultimate goal. For her first world show, Mogilski has come in with a “go getting” attitude, entering all of the classes she is eligible for. This so called “difficult” horse has given her a second chance to get back into the ring, after her own difficult times. We wish Rachael and Bella the best of luck throughout the rest of her time here at the PWC.
