Our handmade lampshades are pure craftsmanship

Light & Living, originally a lampshade company

In our atelier in Noordwijk we develop and produce - as one of the few companies in the Netherlands - handmade lampshades. Twice a year, we make a seasonal change. We look at which fabrics fit on our lamp bases. We make sure to be on top of the latest trends by frequently checking new fabrics at our suppliers and developing our own designs. New trends are mostly based on material, print or colour.

An advanced cutting table cuts all sorts of different materials and sizes. This makes up for a produce of 900 shades a day. Many variations possible

Introducing our shades into the themes of our collection, we select our colours and designs carefully to create perfect combinations. It is important to us to always test a fabric with and without lighting so we can make sure both look amazing. We produce about 3,500 lampshades a week. Annually we produce 180,000 lampshades by hand in our studio in Noordwijk. This makes us immensely proud!

To ensure extra firmness, smaller lampshades are sown together. Larger lampshades are glued together with a machine.
