WELCOME TO THE ARMOR ALL FAN GUIDE Ten years - where have they gone? By the end of this year, ARMOR ALLÂŽ will have provided almost $1 million in prize money through the ARMOR ALL Pole Awards in V8 Supercars, the Dunlop Development Series and the V8 Utes. Hopefully we have helped provide the fans with plenty of entertainment. It has been a terrific journey so far and we have enjoyed building many great relationships along the way with drivers, crews, officials, volunteers, administrators, fellow sponsors, staff, customers, retail partners, media and of course, the fans.
Paul Blair with Scott McLaughlin
We have some unique things planned for our 10th anniversary year, but we thought we would start with a simple and useful gift. One of the things that makes motorsport great is the diversity and the passion of the fans it attracts from grassroots club karting through to Formula 1. Fans are the lifeblood of any sport and ARMOR ALL is proud of the relationship we have built with motorsport followers around the world, but in particular in Australia and New Zealand. As a small thank you to the fans, we have decided to celebrate our 10th year of the ARMOR ALL Pole Award by producing our inaugural ARMOR ALL Motorsport Fan Guide, powered by our good friends at Speedcafe.com. This guide will be a valuable edition to any pocket, briefcase, school bag, desk or toolbox as a quick reference guide on your favourite driver, track or series. Along with this printed version of the guide, we have also produced an online version available at www. armorall.com.au and this will be updated continually throughout 2015. We hope you enjoy the 2015 ARMOR ALL Motorsport Fan Guide and thank-you for your on-going support of ARMOR ALL and all forms of motorsport. Thank you. WELCOME FROM JAMIE WHINCUP It is hard to believe that we are about to enter the 10th season of V8 Supercars where ARMOR ALL is the naming rights sponsor of the category’s Pole Award. They tell me that Paul Blair and his ARMOR ALL team will have provided almost $1 million in prize money for Pole Awards in V8 Supercars, the Dunlop Development Series and the V8 Utes by the end of the 2015 season. We have wonderful sponsors at Red Bull Racing Australia, but it is important contributions like these that create extra interest and help keep the sport ticking. I don’t need any extra incentive to be as fast as I can in qualifying, but it is nice to be able to contribute the ARMOR ALL cheques to the team Christmas fund when we do get it right. There are also plenty of bragging rights on the line to be the most consistent pole winner of the year and pick up the trophy and bonus $10,000 in December. Of the nine previous ARMOR ALL Pole awards, I have been fortunate enough to pick up six of them and I can assure you that a seventh would be as sweet as any of the others. Last year, I was pushed to the line by Scott McLaughlin and I am sure there will be a few more contenders this season. It was a nice gesture of ARMOR ALL to match the winner’s cheque for second place last season. I hope to see Arnie (the ARMOR ALL mascot), Paul Blair and other ARMOR ALL representatives in pit lane at a few cheque presentations this year and with a bit of luck we can be in the running at the end of the year to collect overall trophy number seven. We hope you enjoy ARMOR ALL’s 10th anniversary Fan Guide powered by Speedcafe.com. Let’s go! Jamie Whincup

THE HISTORY OF THE ARMOR ALL POLE AWARD
Mark Skaife claimed the inaugural ARMOR ALL Pole Position in 2006 during the Adelaide Clipsal 500 Qualifying Shootout.
The ARMOR ALL Pole Award has become one of the most recognised and respected incentives in Australian motorsports. By the end of this 10th season of involvement in V8 Supercars, the Dunlop Development Series and the V8 Utes Series, ARMOR ALL will have provided approximately $1 million in pole position prize money. Mark Skaife won the first V8 Supercar ARMOR ALL Pole Award on the streets of Adelaide in 2006. Skaife, a five-time national champion, finished third in qualifying behind Jason Richards and Jamie Whincup, but got the job done in the top 10 Shootout. Skaife went to win the ARMOR ALL Pole Award season prize with four poles for the year, but only managed to finish 16th in the championship. Mark Winterbottom stepped up year two by clinching four poles, one more than Garth Tander and Todd Kelly. In 2008 Whincup began what has been quite a remarkable seven-year performance in the battle for ARMOR ALL Pole Award supremacy. Since 1960 there have 55 different drivers who have claimed a pole and at the start of the 2015 season Whincup leads the way on 61 from Peter Brock (57), Skaife (41), Allan Moffat (39), Craig Lowndes (37), Winterbottom (30), Tander (29), Dick Johnson (28), John Bowe (25) and Marcos Ambrose (18).

In the last seven years Whincup has clinched the annual ARMOR ALL Pole Award six times and the $10,000 bonus cheque, with Will Davison upsetting his streak in 2012. Last year produced one of the most thrilling finishes in the annual award with Scott McLaughlin clinching his ninth pole of the season in the last race of the year at Homebush in Sydney. ARMOR ALL provided the extra incentive for McLaughlin, promising to match the $10,000 annual prize purse if the youngster could clinch Sydney and finish on the same number of poles as Whincup. He got the job done, but Whincup was awarded his sixth annual title on a count back due to a higher number of second-place qualifying results for the year. Since its inauguration in 2006, V8 Supercar ARMOR ALL Pole Position winners have included Mark Skaife, Garth Tander, Jason Bright, Todd Kelly, James Courtney, Mark Winterbottom, Rick Kelly, Jamie Whincup, Steven Richards, Craig Lowndes, Steve Johnson, Jason Richards, Will Davison, Jason Bargwanna, Lee Holdsworth, Alex Davison, Paul Dumbrell, Greg Murphy, David Reynolds, Shane van Gisbergen, Tim Slade, Fabian Coulthard and McLaughlin. The Dunlop Development Series was introduced in 2000 with Ryan McLeod clinching the first two poles of that series at Eastern Creek and Phillip Island. Steve Owen won his first Development Series pole at Wakefield Park in 2008 and currently leads the alltime list with 17 from Paul Dumbrell, Andrew Thompson and Dean Canto who each have nine. David Sieders has collected the most amount of poles in the V8 Ute Series since its inception in 2001 with 17. Sieders, who won the first ARMOR-ALL Utes pole in 2010, clinched four of his poles from the seven events in 2014 on his way to second place in the championship standings behind Kris Walton. CASTROL GOLD COAST 600 Circuit Overview Location: Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast Length: 2.96 kilometres Direction: Anti-Clockwise Maximum speed: 265km/h Fastest Point: Front Straight Average Speed: 146km/h Corners: 15 (11 Left 4 Right) Most Race Wins: Garth Tander (7) Most Pole Positions: Jamie Whincup (5) Qualifying Lap Record: 1m10.0480s (David Reynolds Ford Falcon FG 2013) Race Lap Record: 1m10.0851s (Will Davison Ford Falcon FG 2011) Defending Winner/s: Shane van Gisbergen/Jonathon Webb and Jamie Whincup/Paul Dumbrell Circuit Description The Gold Coast Street Circuit is a high speed, concrete-lined, thrill ride that was shortened for the new look event in 2010 by around 1.5 kilometres. The temporary street track has proven to create carnage in the past, particularly when drivers don’t show the patience required for victory, so the co-drivers at this event will have to tread carefully. 2014 Highlight: Shane van Gisbergen and Jonathon Webb produced a flawless drive to secure a victory just two weeks after being cruelly denied a shot at victory at Bathurst. 2015 Event Information: Friday: 4 x 30 minute Practice, 1 x 40 minute Qualifying Saturday: 1 x 20 minute Qualifying, Top 10 Shootout, 1 x 300km Race Sunday: 1 x 20 minute Qualifying, 1 x 300km Race Tyre Format: 16 hard compound and 8 soft tyres will be supplied to each entry. ITM 500 AUCKLAND Circuit Overview Location: Pukekohe, New Zealand Length: 2.90 kilometres Direction: Clockwise Maximum speed: 265km/h Fastest Point: Pit straight and back straight Slowest Point: Turn 8 hairpin Corners: 11 (4 Left 7 Right) Most Race Wins: Greg Murphy (9) Most Pole Positions: Greg Murphy, Mark Skaife, Jamie Whincup (2) Qualifying Lap Record: 1m02.5597s (Jamie Whincup Holden Commodore VF 2013) Race Lap Record: 1m03.7239s (Scott McLaughlin Volvo S60 2014) Defending Winner/s: Mark Winterbottom (2), Jason Bright and Shane Van Gisbergen Circuit Description A $6.6 million upgrade saw a new-look Pukekohe Park Raceway return to the V8 Supercars Championship in 2013. A range of works have been undertaken, including the addition of a chicane towards the end of the back straight which extends the circuit marginally from 2.83km to 2.91km. The change does not alter the fast and flowing nature of the circuit, which previously hosted the championship in 2007 prior to a five-year street racing experiment in nearby Hamilton. 2014 Highlight: New Zealand celebrated a home town race winner as Shane van Gisbergen won after a thrilling dice with fellow Kiwi, Scott McLaughlin. 2015 Event Information: Friday: 2 x 60 minute Practice Sessions Saturday: 2 x 15 minute Qualifying, 2 x 60km Races Sunday: 1x 20 minute Qualifying, 1 x 200km Race Tyre Format: 16 hard compound and 4 soft compound tyres will be supplied to each entry. The circuit hosted V8 Supercars’ 500km pre-Bathurst endurance race between 2008 and 2011, before moving to a new format in 2012. The circuit was resurfaced before last year’s visit. 2014 Highlight: Jamie Whincup made V8 Supercars history as he effectively wrapped up a record sixth drivers title. 2015 Event Information: Friday: 2 x 60 minute Practice Sessions Saturday: 2 x 15 minute Qualifying, 2 x 60km Races Sunday: 1 x 20 minute Qualifying, 1 x 200km Race Tyre Format: 16 hard compound tyres will be supplied to each entry. The track’s designers, including five-time series champion Mark Skaife, have focussed on creating a real challenge for the drivers, with a variety of bumps, camber changes and fast and slow corners making it difficult to complete the perfect lap. 2014 Highlight: Torrential rain played havoc in Sunday’s finale which saw Shane van Gisbergen capitalise on a mistake from long time leader Garth Tander. 2015 Event Information: Friday: 3 x 30 minute Practice Sessions Saturday: 1 x 30 minute Practice, 2 x 15 minute Qualifying, 2 x 60km Races Sunday: 1 x 20 minute Qualifying, 1 x Top 10 Shootout, 1 x 250km Race Tyre Format: 20 hard compound tyres will be supplied to each entry.
