Consumption is approximately 1 kg/m² with a layer thickness of 1 mm. Standard cartridge contains 310 ml of material weighing approximately 390 g.
COLOR & PACKAGING
Prime Bitumun comes in black and is available in 310 ml cartridges. Other sizes of packaging are available upon request.
APPLICATION INFORMATION
SUBSTRATE PRETREATMENT: The substrate must be dry, firm and free of dust and grease. Before application, remove any cement slurry, mold release agents or impregnations. In renovation projects, old sealant, remains of paint and loose material must be fully removed.
JOINT DIMENSIONS: In bonding applications (such as roofing membranes), an overlap of at least 10 cm must be provided. If used in layers with more than 4 mm thickness, product has to be applied in more than one layer—drying time between two layers is at least one day.
APPLICATION: Apply Prime Bitumun with a suitable manual, battery-powered or pneumatic gun to the substrate. Spread with spatula if necessary. Apply second substrate/workpiece to be bonded and establish close contact with slight pressure.
Prime Bitumun must be protected from leaching, e.g. by condensed moisture or rainwater, until a solid skin has formed. Clean tools immediately after use with a suitable solvent. Cured product must be removed mechanically.
Prime Bitumun cures by means of desiccation. Low temperature and layer thickness above 4 mm can delay skin formation and curing significantly. At least one of the substrates to be bonded should be (partly) permeable to allow solvent to evaporate. If used indoors, good ventilation has to be provided. Don’t smoke, eat or drink during application. Keep away open flames.
The function of the product can only be guaranteed if correctly applied in accordance with the technical recommendations given in this data sheet and in related standards. Sealant application in situations with strongly fluctuating temperatures (potentially resulting in premature stressing of the sealant) should be avoided.
Read all instructions, warnings and limited liability information on product labels and Technical Data Sheets before using Prime Bitumun.

Rate of curing depends on temperature and substrate absorbency. The data given refer to tests at standard conditions (23°C / 50% relative humidity). Low temperature and layer thickness above 4 mm will retard skin formation and curing significantly.
Data given were determined shortly after production and may slightly vary with increasing age of product. They are not meant for specifications purposes.
CAUTIONS: Keep out of reach of children. May cause skin or eye irritation. May be harmful if swallowed. Do not induce vomiting. Use only in well ventilated areas. Contact a physician immediately and always seek a physician’s advice regarding first aid. Use only in commercial or industrial applications. Use only on intended surfaces.
FOR SAFETY DATA, SEE SAFETY DATA SHEET. Take all preventive measures specified in the Safety Data Sheet and in the hazard markings to prevent accidents and protect health. Information provided in this data sheet is based on the current state of knowledge. This does not exempt purchasers from carrying out their own careful inspections of incoming goods in individual cases. We reserve the right to make changes to the product data in the course of technical progress or due to operationally-related further development.
