Become a SAINT

S ponsor A n IN dustrial Engineering Team

The Pitt IE SAINT Program – Sponsor An Industrial Engineering Team – engages senior student teams in hands-on learning to develop solutions to real-life engineering and business problems of sponsor organizations. Past SAINT Program projects have been featured in local media and presented at national engineering conferences.

Benefits to Sponsors

Previous SAINT projects have resulted in significant benefits for participating organizations. Sponsors report cost savings, enhanced productivity, improved inventory management, smoother operations, quality improvements, increased throughputs, and improved on-time delivery of products.

Additional Benefits

• Additional analysis capacity to complete a project that would otherwise sit idle. Each student works 10 hours per week during the 15-week semester – more than 500 hours per student team.

• Bring new skills and experiences. Half of Pitt IE students are engaged in cooperative education with companies across the nation where they spend multiple semesters gaining industry experience. They bring their co-op skills and experiences to find solutions.

• Find new talent. The Pitt IE senior design project is an opportunity to work with students who are ready for a career. You will watch them work, apply their knowledge, and develop the skills needed in your industry.

• Develop a collaborative relationship with a highly regarded industrial engineering department. Pitt IE is one of the oldest IE programs in the world and consistently ranks among the top 20 public IE programs in the country (USNWR). Our faculty are dedicated to a holistic experience that builds student knowledge, skills, and career-ready expertise.
