Captain’s Notes

THE CAPTAIN JOSH FALKINGHAM

Looking back on Saturday against Bolton, although we were on the wrong end of the result, the performance in the first half especially was outstanding. We went there to compete against a real in form team and we completely outplayed them for 45 minutes, that can be a real positive to take going forward. However, mistakes were the difference in the second half and it does feel like we’re repeating ourselves at the moment. It’s become a recurring theme and something we need to iron out because we want to keep picking up the points and finish the season on a high. We’ve got the chance to get back to winning ways this evening against Leyton Orient, a side who we’ve played a fair few times in recent seasons but not yet had the right result against. They’re a good side that have been on a really good run recently and have some good players, especially up top. They’ve always had really good threats in the attacking third so we’ve got to make sure we get on top of them and nullify those threats. That comes along with doing the basics right and putting in a really competitive performance. When we do that, we get something out of games, so that’s what we’ll be aiming to do to get back to winning ways this evening. I hope you’re all keeping safe and hope all those that are watching on our live stream enjoy the game today.
