NCS CHANGEMAKERS BRING EASTER JOY
Over the Easter period, our NCS Changemakers have been busy putting smiles on people’s faces with their ‘Action Day’ project.
After identifying a cause they were passionate about the group decided to contribute to New Beginnings Easter project. New Beginnings are a local charity within the Harrogate area that supports families following domestic abuse. After getting in contact with the charity, the young people were made aware that they required 35 Easter Eggs for them to donate, however, they needed them as soon as possible as the time for them to be delivered was fast approaching. The imminent deadline could’ve deterred the group and put them off but this was not the case and it in fact did the opposite. The young people became even more inspired and motivated to ensure that they received these donations. Within 48 hours, the group had collected 35 Easter eggs from families and friends as well as neighbours to make sure no one missed out at New Beginnings. After the eggs were collected the young people didn’t stop there, they wanted to help the charity even further and were able to go and support the charity by contributing to the development of the care packages. Furthermore, they were also able to fill up the van ready to go out for delivery that evening. The group has received some amazing feedback from the charity and those that have benefitted. The young people are continuing to look to help New Beginnings as they continue to leave a lasting impact within their local communities.
