HISTORY OF COMPANY The Nablus Company are truly pioneers in the soap industry. Soap masters have passed this specialized knowledge down through generations of the Tbeleh family, leading to over 400 hundred years of artisanal soap making experience and the current renowned master, Mojtaba Tbeleh. Nablus soap, a Castille, is produced exclusively in Nablus, Palestine. Although the finished product has almost no scent, the ivory colored soap’s main ingredient is virgin olive oil harvested from the purest olive trees in the world.
Traditionally, women made it for household use, but in the 13th century, soap grew into a significant industry. By the 14th century, the soap-making industry in Nablus had become so strong it was even prized by Queen Elizabeth I of England and exported throughout Europe and the Middle East. In the 19th century, soap production was at its peak. Nearly 30 factories were producing approximately 5,000 tons of Nablusi Soap in the Fertile Crescent, with over 50% of the product coming directly from Palestine.
