EBACE 2023 LONG RANGE JETS HIGHLIGHTS
The G500 is part of a new GulfstreamGVII family offering launched in 2014. This new familyintroduces a newly designed wide cabin, coupled with a G650 derivative high-speed supercriticalwing allowingfor Mach 0.925 maximumspeed. The G500 is powered by the latest generation PW800engines from Pratt & Whitney Canada.
The shorter fuselage G500 first flew on May 8, 2015, prior to entering service in September 2018.
The G500 wide cabin benefits from the highly optimized four circulararcs cross-sectionfuselage design complemented with fourteen Gulfstreamsignature large panoramicoval windows.
The three living zones allow for great configuration flexibility, with the option of a forward or an aft galley and an aft fully enclosed stateroom.
The G500 offers the mostadvanced flight deck of any business or commercialaircraft. The SymmetryFlight Deck™ features active controlsidesticks that provide visual and tactile feedback. An industryfirst on this cockpit is the three overhead touchscreen panels replacing traditionalbulky switch panels.
Launched in 2017 as a successor of the abandoned Snecma Silvercrest-powered Falcon 5X, the Falcon 6X retains the 5X wide cross-sectionfuselage and replaces the delayed engines with proven Pratt & Whitney Canada new generation PW800 familyengines.
The Falcon 6X introduces a new generation of ultraefficient wings capable of both Mach 0.90 high-speed cruising and enhanced low-speed performance allowing for London City’s steep approach and a large number of short-fieldairport operations.
The three-zone Falcon 6X cabin features the largest cross-sectionin the industry marketed by Dassault Aviation as the first ultra-widebodypurpose-built business jet.
The 6X cabin is 20 inches longer than the original5X allowing for greater configurationflexibility, especially in the forward galley and the aft lounge areas. Featuring 30 extra large windows, the 6X cabin’s most noticeable feature is the addition of the unique skylight, a ceiling-mounted window in the entrance area allowing the cabin to be flooded with natural light
The 6X recently completed its certificationflight test program after accumulating 1,480 hours in the air over 580 flights. The companyanticipates certificationin the comingweeks, with the entry into service to follow.
During EBACE 2023, Dassault Aviation will be exhibiting the third Falcon 6X flight test aircraft, equipped with a fully fitted cabin interior. Before its arrivalin Geneva, the aircraftendured a gauntlet of extreme hot and cold temperature soaks and flooded runway trials as well as high-altitude, high-speed testing.
