When a common of space has the power to catch the public attention, it then becomes the heart of the building To create such space, the main concept starts with craving out an elongated void that runs from the ground front to the upper end of the building The void appears from outside like a cave filled with trees, or a funnel that can inhale While slowly ascending towards the end on third floor, the cave-like space gradually opens up itself and turns into a valley The landscaped valley is imagined as the spine of the building It is served as entrance, atrium, circulation, and meeting place

Urban Extension Landscape

A sustainable architecture shall not isolate itself like a free standing object on ground It shall be conceived as a part of a larger urban context that merges seamlessly with the public space The front landscape served as multi-purpose public plaza generates closer relationship among people, the city and itself

The landscaped path can function as an alternative circulation linking from Ground to 3rd floor Dining space can be extended from indoor to outdoor Pockets of social corner with crafted vegetation are also scattered along the path

Facade Structure

One of the sustainable strategies is to reduce the usage of airconditioner by making all common area and corridor naturally ventilated The facade running along the corridor is a double skins system where inner layer is glass louver, outer layer is self-support corrugated metal mesh

Bubbledeck is a flooring IBS structure system Apart from being a good thermal insulated material and fast to install, more importantly it is highly flexible in spatial planning The wall of valley is entirely made of reinforced concrete as load bearing wall Hence, by reducing number of column, it increases the efficiency of internal space, and achieves better structural integrity
