Carnauba is the hardest natural wax available for using. Carnauba wax is also known as Brazil wax and palm wax. It is a wax produced from the leaves of the palm. It normally comes in the form of hard yellow-brown flakes. It is produced from the leaves of the carnauba palm by collecting the best leaves, processing them to loosen the wax, then refining the wax. Prepare the car Before starting the waxing process, wash your car thoroughly. It is really necessary to wash completely to take off the dirt and dusts. Otherwise hard dust particles may scratch the paint surface which will lead to hairline scratches. Dry the car completely before waxing. Avoid washing and waxing your car on a direct sun as it leads to premature drying of wax before wax is getting into the top layer. If it is a sunny day and you don't have a choice, make sure you park your car in the shade for waxing. How to apply the wax? To apply wax, I always prefer a wax application sponge pad. This is really a good investment if you want to do waxing by D.I.Y. It will reduce the workload and time required to apply. So to avoid too much of wiping off the excess wax, apply the right amount of wax. Now please don't ask me what is the right amount of wax. You will know that practically when you are waxing. Apart from that what I can tell you is, once you have seen that there is a coat of wax already on the surface, don't apply again. How to wipe off the wax? Please allow some time for the wax to get dried. There are specially made wiping clothes and mitts to take the wax off. If not, a terry cloth towel will be good to work. I don't recommend micro fibers but I used the micro fiber cloth several times and it was working excellent to wipe off the wax I have used. It may not be working for you but it did for me. How to choose a best carnauba wax? Please choose a car wax which is really good and acceptably long lasting. Normally I don't expect the wax to last long more than 2 months. If the car usage is light then it actually lasts me for little more than two months. It may not be true that all expensive waxes will be worth the money. Whatsoever the brand please choose nonabrasive waxes, if you intend to do only waxing.
