Cleaning your car is an act that should be done almost weekly if you really want to make your vehicle shine and stay looking good for a long time. Since cleaning your car takes a long time doing it by hand, here is a quick and easy way to at least be able to clean off most of the dirt and gunk without having to spend hours toiling away. 1.First, rinse down your car. This is simple enough and involves using your hose to make sure that every part of the car is wet. And when I say every part, I mean it. Get into those crevices and wheel wells because those are the places where dirt and salt can accumulate if left alone. Spray down the wheels and, if you can, try to reach under the car and spray that down as well. 2.Get two buckets. Fill one with car washing approved soap and the other with clean water. Because cleaning off your car will involve getting particulates onto the wash mitt, you will want to clean the mitt off in the clean water before putting it into the soap again. This way, you won't get microscopic scratches in your paint and your car will look better for many years to come. 3.After wiping down the entire car, let the soap soak in a bit. If you want to, you can even go over the car again with a new bucket of soap and water, but this is optional. After the soap has soaked in, but not to the point of drying, rinse the entire car off again. Another optional thing to do at this point is to wash your BMW wheels with an approved wheel cleaner and rinsing them off as well. 4.Drying is next. One of the easiest ways to dry your car is to get a squeegee and go over the whole car one time. When the preliminary water has been wiped off, get some terry cloths and go over the entire vehicle one more time. This will keep the water from spotting and ruining your paint. Once this is done, you can then allow the rest of the car to air dry, if you keep it in a driveway, or you can put it back into the garage. I would recommend allowing the car to fully dry off for about an hour or so because otherwise leftover water can end up splashing up on your car and getting it dirty again.
Be sure to pay attention to your BMW wheels, as they can collect brake dust very easily and if you leave that on, it becomes very hard to get off.
