If you are serious about home security then you will at least need an Outdoor CCTV Camera. CCTV is something we have all seen everywhere we go and it's for good reason. It's a sad case that the CCTV camera is popping up all over the World in the fight against crime. However, these are much different to the cameras you will choose for your home and business, for example, they will be much smaller and of course, cheaper. Just like anything else, don't just get the cheapest money can buy, it's the cheapest for a reason. Make sure it has panoramic capabilities if you are recording a wide area, does it revolve? Is it any good at night or any other low light situations, it's no good going for a cheap outdoor CCTV camera if it's not going to fulfill your needs. Of course, everyone's needs are different and that is why there is so much choice on the market today. CCTV is an essential tool for monitoring buildings, stock, staff and other personnel. You can be alerted instantly about potential trouble, and recorded events can provide valuable evidence and with many of them these days you can view images via broadband, wireless LAN and even the enabled mobile phone networks. There are a wide selection to chose from and you can't simply pick any old outdoor CCTV camera, you will have to get the right one that is right for your needs as they are available for all types of premises and locations, such as offices and shops, private homes, public buildings, schools, sports grounds and wide open spaces. You have to also consider colour or black and white as a lot of cameras are sharper in black and white as opposed to colour, but then it can depend on cost too. Some are only good during daylight hours while others are suitable for both day and night recording and are of very good quality, usually they record in colour during the day and black and white at night of course. Try to get an outdoor CCTV camera that is rated up to a minimum of IP65, meaning Ingress protection 65, this basically means that they are both dust tight and sealed to prevent water getting in that would cause harmful effects. With one of these you can easily leave it exposed to the elements and they will continue to

perform at their very best. Even the cheapest models are very good these days for night vision with up to 15M, sharp pictures and great infra red capability and with instant day and night monitoring with colour during the day and black and white at night using infra red. These cameras can change into infra red night vision mode when they detect that the light levels are dropping below a certain level, this allows for a seamless transition between the day and night recordings.
