PHI KAPPA THETA/SETON HALL NEWS BITS By Nick Scalera ’63
The first annual Phi Kappa Theta Day at Walsh Gym will be held on Sunday, January 22nd at the Seton Hall v. Syracuse women’s basketball game at 2 p.m.
It’s a great way to show support for the team and Head Coach Anne Donovan.
Ticket Sales Director Richard C. Bello has reserved 25 seats for Phi Kappa Theta brothers/guests in Section 15 at the reduced rate of $5/ticket (usually $10). Contact the SHU Ticket Office at richard.bello@shu.edu or (973) 275-2327 or and mention the code “PKT” so he knows you’re with our group. The tickets will be mailed to you.
The Lady Pirates, with a 5-4 record, finished second in the “Island” division of the Paradise Jam Tournament in the US Virgin Islands. Senior guard Jasmine Crew of Camden was named to the All-Tournament Team and selected as ECAC Player of the Week and BIG EAST Player of the Week – the first to earn this honor since Noteisha Womack in December 2007. She is averaging 20.2% from the field, with 33 assists, 12 steals and 4.4 rebounds/game.
PKT alumni/friends can also join Annie’s Angels, a booster club started by brother Chuck Guariglia ’64 to increase home-game attendance. Members receive The Donovan File, a monthly newsletter; team progress reports; restaurant/ticket discounts; and an invitation to a post-season team party. For more information, contact Chuck at guarigliac@yahoo.com. SAVE THE DATE: The next Phi Kappa Theta Day at The Rock will be held at the SHU v. PITT game at noon on Sunday, February 12, 2012.
