Corrigendum regarding the causes of the Czajka Wastewater Treatment Plant sewer collector failure

Dear Sir/Madam, We would like to correct the false information circulating the media, according to which the sewer collector failure of the Czajka Wastewater Treatment Plant in Warsaw was caused by damage to HDPE (Polyethylene) pipes. This investment project did not involve the installation of any HDPE pipes. The pipelines laid under the Vistula River were made of CC-GRP glass-fiber reinforced plastics. Publishing such a misleading statement regarding the causes of that failure is unfair and highly damaging to the reputation of all manufacturers of HDPE products. Additionally, we would like to inform the public that Uponor Infra took part in the construction of the temporary HDPE sewage pipeline laid on the floating bridge. It connects the left bank of the Vistula River with the Czajka Wastewater Treatment Plant, which is located on the right bank, in order to put an end to uncontrolled discharge of sewage into the river. The construction of the collector was accomplished in record time. The delivery of pipes and welding of the DN1000 pipeline with a total length of 2200 m took only 6.5 days. Once again, Uponor Infra stood up to the challenge and proved its capacity to complete extremely difficult tasks requiring tailor-made solutions. Ewa Krzemińska
