Dear Steve,
Dear Sian,
Good to see that a political party is taking an interest in the local community addressing key issues like potential hospital closures, of which I am very concerned about and, as a teacher, youth unemployment.
Thank you, plaid’s leaflet aims to inform residents in Llantrisant of what I want to achieve, what we standards for and how policy decisions at the local council level, in Cardiff and Westminster impact the community.
Moreover, I am impressed with how you are highlighting local businesses in Llantrisant, the farmers market is for food.
I want to help local businesses and community events, so if you have any please send them to us to promote! (plaidcf72@gmail.com)
A great leaflet, keep up the good work! Regards, Sian, Llantrisant
Also, we meet once a month in Pontyclun, so please feel free to attend. Regards, Steven John Harry

FOOD BANKS An Increasing Necessity In February I visited the foodbank in Pontyclun at Bethal Baptist church, run by the Trussell Trust. Last year, nearly 30,000 used the trust’s services in Wales during December, almost 3 times as many as last year. With people having less and less money in their pockets, after paying rising heating, electric, gas, water and petrol, many are now having ask for emergency support to provide food for their family.

What ever RFC want to put 200 words (without picture.
The rising numbers of individuals, unwaged and in employment, using food banks are indictment of Governments in Cardiff and Westminster. With Welsh household incomes falling by around £80 per month, the economy and jobs are Plaid Cymru's top priority. Plaid has secured £20m for 10,000 apprentices, demanded business rate relief, more local procurement and a ‘green deal’ to strengthen the economy. www.pontyclunfoodbank.org.uk
Steven Harry PlaidCF72@gmail.com During the recent bad weather a lot of snow was delivered to Llantrisant giving us not only spectacular views but blocked roads and icy pavements. Therefore, I donned warm clothes to help local residents to get to work and school by shoveling snow and grit the ice. I would like to thank council workers who have worked hard to clear and grit the roads in freezing weather!

RCT Council Labour has gone back on its election pledge this month by voting to change bin collections to fortnightly. Less than one year ago Labour in Rhondda Cynon Taff pledged to protect weekly bin collections “no matter how harsh the cuts from the CONDEM government.” Over 40 people attended the successful cross-party meeting in Tonyrefail to discuss the South Wales hospitals reconfiguration plans last December. Ioan Bellin, who chaired the meeting from Plaid Cymru said: "The Welsh NHS belongs to us all. We held a cross party open meeting in Tonyrefail to listen to the views of local people. "It want to thank everyone who came to the meeting particularly Llantrisant's local champion Steve Harry, James Radcliffe, from the Bridgend Health Campaign and Dr Chris Jones, Chair of Cwm Taf Health Board." Recent figures from the Welsh Ambulance Service have highlighted the importance of keeping Accident and Emergency services at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital and elsewhere in South Wales. The latest reports show that just under half of the most urgent 999 calls weren’t responded to within eight minutes in RCT, the lowest in Wales. The ambulance service is at breaking point. For the seventh consecutive month, the service has not met its targets. This is one reason why the Welsh Government’s plans to remove accident and emergency departments from some hospitals in the Valleys is so dangerous and the Party of Wales opposes it. The health boards in South Wales, which run the Royal Glamorgan hospital, will start their consultation in the spring.
Along with this U-turn Labour’s RCT council will be increasing our council tax by nearly 4% this year. This is on top of Labour police commissioner’s proposal to increase the police part of the council tax by 7%! But there is good news for some, thanks to Plaid Cymru’s pressure in the Welsh Assembly, the Labour Welsh government has done a U-turn on Council Tax benefit. Labour had previously refused to make up the loss of funds that councils use to help the most disadvantaged members of our community. This would have led some, including pensioners and the disabled, to pay council tax for the first time, even with squeezed personal budgets. Due to Labour’s incompetence in dealing with this matter councils have wasted money, sending out letters which were out of date nearly immediately, causing needless worry for some of the most vulnerable people in RCT.
