Following the construction of the new Coatbridge school campus by joint venture partnership Balfour Beatty and BAM Nuttall, Plan Bee Ltd was asked to provide a Legacy project that would engage both mainstream pupils and those with additional learning support needs. The ongoing programme involved classroom discussions based on the Curriculum of Excellence framework; and practical tutorials, with small groups of children dressed in standard beekeeping suits and becoming more directly involved in the management of the hives.
