SUNDIAL GROUP CASE STUDY
SUNDIAL GROUP CASE STUDY
PROJECT Installed and manage nine beehives across the multi-award winning Sundial Group’s three prestigious hotel and conference venues.
SERVICES The hospitality sector is an extremely competitive one, with customers seeking excellence in both service and products. Customers now expect providers to be both ethical and sustainable.
Tim Chudley,
Sundial Group Managing Director
Worked with Sundial Group’s executive leadership team and hotel managers to identify the best location for the hives within the idyllic gardens of each country house venue, at Barnett Hill, Highgate House and Woodside.
BENEFITS The hives support the strong sustainability ethos of this prestigious hotel brand, extending their existing support for dwindling bee populations. Hives provide a talking point for guests and attending conference delegates, giving the group a unique selling point over and above their competitors. The venues’ award winning chefs use the quality local honey in their recipes and it features strongly within the menu. This maximises the traceability and locality of their produce and again provides diners with a unique talking point. Plan Bee’s award-winning marketing team worked with the Sundial Group to deliver a successful PR and social media campaign, with the story featuring in numerous hospitality and hotel trade magazines and in local press.
