Green Education for staff, students and parents - It’s not just about polar bears it’s about us and our children - Inspire children and get their parents on board. Set up a Green BC Parents Association. No half-hearted attempts - full throttle! Council-wide policies which extend and inspire local businesses to do the same. A cycle of improvement until the council has reached carbon neutral status and perhaps beyond? Baby steps to giant steps. Work with other environmental organisations and make that evident within the council. Replanting of trees - There are companies that plant trees on your behalf. Encouraging Green living at home. Find out what policies the BC has at the moment and whether Greece has adopted them. Calculate the BCs Carbon Footprint, inform staff and use this as a measurement for change. Get an energy audit. Do not just limit recycling to paper but extend to plastic, glass - advertise this. Change to Green lighting. Eco Friendly Cleaning Products Biodegradable / Compostable bags Options for Carbon Offsetting and Travel Eliminate the presence of water dispensers within the council. What about filtered water systems? Replace the water system with a solar heating. How about a BC Green rooftop... an enjoyable place for coffee at break time? Winter’s coming what about insulation? Is Green energy an option in Greece? Change taps Buy and sell days - Recycle - reuse... don’t destroy!
