Technical Information Materials – Main Nut: PA, Clamp Arms: Glass Reinforced Polypropylene, Pressurised Body: Polypropylene PPB, Grip Ring: Polyacetal, Seal: EPDM, Cutter: DZR Brass Operating Temperatures – The Plassaddle is not to be used with hot water, although the saddle will withstand the same temperature as the polyethylene pipe. For applications with operating temperatures above 20°C refer to the pressure derating factors on the PLASSON website. A Plassaddle will withstand sub-zero temperatures. Chemical Resistance – The Plassaddle is supplied with EPDM seals and O Rings as standard. EPDM has a higher chemical resistance than NBR which is commonly used in PLASSON seals and O rings. The grip ring is made of acetal (POM). For demanding chemical applications contact PLASSON on 1300 752 776. Operating Pressures and Quality Certificates – The Plassaddle is tested and approved according to AS/NZS 4129 PN16 and carries WaterMark & ISO Type 5 certifications. Threads - All threads conform to ISO 7. Female threads are parallel, designated ‘Rp’. Male threads are tapered, designated ‘R’. Note: The use of PTFE tape is strongly recommended in threaded connections.
