Limpopo Government explores Green Energy for the future The Premier of Limpopo, Mr Cassel Mathale met with the delegation of the Chili Capital Management Corporation led by its Director, Mr Stephen Lu to engage in exploratory discussions about Green Energy. Chili Capital Management Corporation is a Chinese Company that deals with, among others, large renewable energy power plant development services. The meeting explored possible ways of enhancing the energy mix of the province to ensure, among others, optimal utilisation of energy resources as espoused by the Limpopo Employment Growth and Development Plan (LEGDP). During the meeting, Premier Cassel Mathale was joined by the MEC for the Department of Economic Development, Environment and Tourism, Mr Pitsi Moloto, the Director General of the Limpopo provincial government, Ms Madikolo Rachel Molepo-Modipa, the Strategic Grid Planning Manager of Eskom, Mr Ronald Marais and some senior government officials. The Director of Chili Capital Management Corporation was accompanied by the Chief Executive
Local Gaza Strip aid fundraiser a big success A number of Burgersfort and Lydenburg residents participated in a fundraising march in Lydenburg last week Sunday to assist with humanitarian aid to the besieged Gaza Strip. A convoy in this regard leaves South Africa later this year and will move overland to reach the Gaza Strip (north of Egypt, southwest of Israel, it is part of the Palestinian State) in the first week of Ramadhan. Sunday’s march started at Lydenburg Primary school and ended at Rooikat park where stalls and games were the order of the day. A cake with the Palestinin flag as theme was auctioned and bought by two Burgersfort businessmen for R5000. More than R50 000 was raised for this cause on Sunday.
Officer, Mr Morgan Liao and Mr Angus Jia. The meeting explored how Limpopo can contribute to the national goal of improving the long-term reliability of electric supply through meeting adequate criteria over and above keeping pace with economic growth and development. The national government has an Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) which indicates that our country is planning to commit 16% renewable energy as part of its future energy mix. As result, this week’s exploratory discussions were aimed at taking a step towards ensuring that the government achieve universal access and transform the energy sector, said Premier Mathale. He said, “As a province, we support other national energy efficiency initiatives such as the Solar Water-Heating Programme that was launched by President Jacob Zuma in April 2010. We are confident that the programme will offset the rising electric costs for residential households through savings on water heating and contribute to the reduction of our country’s carbon footprint.”

Increased our capital expenditure on infrastructure to 98% of budget.
Peter Burce, editor of Business Day, says: “As most ANC-run cities broadly subside and most DA-run ones broadly prosper, the political effect becomes a little like compound interest. You don’t notice it at first but after a while it really begins to matter. A lot. It’s about doing your job - everyone doing their jobs - properly”. Baie. Dit gaan daaroor dat jy jou werk doen - elkeen sy werk doen - behoorlik” “Our community deserves better than dry taps, no electricity, no refuse removal, a lack of roads and many of the other problems they are currently faced with when it comes to service delivery. They deserve the DA ESTABLISHED SERVICES DA-run municipalities have. Vote DA for a better life.” - Roelof Lourens

Hy werk in verskillende mediums.

Does political campaigns influence you? On Wednesday next week voters across the country will be going to voting stations to cast their ballots in the local government elections. Ahead of the big day political parties are intensifying their campaigns highlighting their good and strong points while putting a spotlight on their opposition’s errors and weaknesses. We asked readers how much do they allow these political campaigns to influence them and whether they are happy that their vote will make a difference? If they are satisfied that the party they choose will be able to deliver the goods?
Ms Martha Mogale said: “I’m not going to vote because I have no confidence in the ANC I’ve been voting for. They lie and don’t deliver and waste the tax payers’ money buying luxury cars. I’m a card carrying ANC member and my problem is not with the party, but with those in charge of it”.
Mr Doctor Masinga said: “I’m listening to everyone, but I’m not influenced. We want them to deliver. I don’t know if my vote will make a difference. It depends on whether we can vote for someone staying in our area. They must live in Praktiseer among us. In reality the politicians don’t deliver”. Mnr.
Mr Phillip Mushaikwa said: “I am not bothering to listen to them. I’m from Zimbabwe so I won’t be going to vote. I have not yet decided which party I would like to have in charge”.
Ms Pontsho Morena said: “I’m not listeing to anything. They just want to be elected. They are marketing themselves. I don’t know if my vote will help, but I am satisfied with my choice”.
Mnr. Charl Heyneke en mnr. Chris Langenhoven sê: “Natuurlik maak elke stem ‘n verskil. ‘n Ou weet maar vir wie jy wil stem so ons steur ons nie aan almal se praatjies nie”.
Ms Eunice Ndlovu said: “I’m not interested to vote so I’m not listening to the campaigns. They don’t give us good services and are only good to us when they want to be elected”.
Ms Nicolene Lehaiwa said: “I’m not bothering to listen to them. They don’t have the interest of the people at heart. No, I’m not happy that my vote will make a difference. I vote each and every election but there is no difference in our lives. I don’t think it will make a difference this time”.
Ms Sweetness Manyane and Ms Gladys Utla said: “We are not going to vote at all. We have decided and are not listening to all the campaigning”. Sweetness said: “I am sleeping in a tin house. We want RDP Houses. Gladys said: “I’m from Mampuru - we don’t have any street lights, have gravel roads and don’t have water”.
Ms RF Molatudi said: “I am listening to them, but I am not going to vote. I am staying in Praktiseer and there is no service delivery. Since ‘94 we have not had water in Praktiseer Dark City, we are still using pit toilets. Why vote? Our kids have to push wheelbarrows to fetch water”.
Mr Winners Makofane said: “No, I don’t listen to the mud slinging. I don’t think my vote will make any change. I am not sure that we will ever get really capable and trustworthy people”.
Ms RF Mojapelo said: “Ja, I think it is better to vote. If you don’t the party that is ruling won’t change. Ja, I am paying attention to all the campaigns”.

Good luck to them for the remainder of the league”. Van der Merwe also said: “I would like to encourage our team not to give up. This is our first year as a rugby club, it takes time, commitment and heart to establish depth in a club. We must use our defeats as encouragements, to learn from and to improve from. Keep your heads high, we have achieved a lot within one year! Thank you for Samancor Eastern Chrome Mine for the maintenance of the field, thank you to the club management for the clean change houses and area and then thank you to Marula for their ambulance and medic.
