Do not fall for this scam

Jobs are scarce and crimininals seems to be adamant to scam you out of the little money you still have. Northam Platinum urgently contacted the newspaper this week because these scamsters are advertising Everest Platinum Mine positions on social media and elsewhere on the internet. Everest Platinum Mine is the old name of of a mine previously belonging to Aquarius Platinum. It is now part of Notham Platinum’s Booysendal operation. The name Everest is no longer used and according to Northam the Booysendal operation has reached steady state and has no more mass job opportunities. The company urges the public to be vigilant of fraudulent Facebook advertisements and emails as they do not originate from Everest or neither Booysendal. Job seekers should also not make any payment to secure interviews, learnership programmes or any other employment opportunities, but rather report suspicious activities to the Police. See the Northam release in this regard on page 6.

Gazette Is your GTM account a mess? A number of ratepayers in the Greater Tubatse Municipality have complained to the newspaper that they are feeling quite dejected about the state of their municipal accounts, because nothing seems to be right. Either the money they pay is not reflecting, or the amount on their accounts is wrong. They need not feel alone as the whole system seems to be not working, but there is hope according to Municipal Spokesperson, Mr Thabiso Mokoena told the newspaper: “There is a problem. The cash drawer system and PC ‘s are old and not efficient and effective hence new PC’s has been ordered and the service provider promised to deliver. Payments cannot be captured into the system, some customers pay their accounts directly into the bank account and others make payments at the cashiers office of which they receive manual receipts and all this cannot be uploaded into the system . As a result the customers’ accounts are not updated. I hope the matter will be rectified very soon and we are pleading with the customers to be patient. The matter is receiving attention at all levels and accounts will be updated as soon as the new PC’s are installed. In the meantime customers can contact Mapotsane DE, Phasha LC, Mphokane M and R van Wyk in connection with their accounts. Due to the situation in hand we understand that there is a problem and the services will not be tampered with”.

Burgersfort, Steelpoort, Ohrigstad

Service delivery (or lack of it), job losses, less spending by industries, winter approaching and the looming election on the horizon (depending on the Concourt’s actions), still makes for a volataile situation on the ground. This group of marchers was seen on Wednesday afternoon at the Lion Smelter cross next to the R555 near Steelpoort. As far as could be determined, their grievances included employment opportunities (or lack thereof).

John 8:7-11 (NIV) 7 When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” 8 Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground. 9 At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. 10 Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” 11 “No one, sir,” she said. “Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.”

R60 000 at stake Mr Senyane Kodi the chairman of FC Kodi White Doves has put down R60 000 a stake for 32 teams from three local municipalities to compete in a tournament. Teams from Makhuduthamaga, GTM (with the newly incorporated Fetakgomo Municipality included) and Elias Motswaledi will compete from 15-31 December 2016 in eight groups. and Jomo Cosmos (PSL). The teams will compete for a R27 000 first prize which sets a record in the Sekhukhune district and other regions in Limpopo province. “We need to spot talent and shape it to achieve greatness so that the soccer history books should be rewritten.
