ToyRun funds well spent Funds raised during the 2016 ToyRun made a huge difference as local bikers delivered a 580lt chest feezer to Laersdrift Combined School near Roossenekal earlier this month. The school hosts a number of children from the Burgersfort and Steelpoort area. They were in dire need of more freezing space to assist in keeping their food supplies fresh for the boarding school. The bikers delivered the donation to the school on their fun day on 9 September. Various clubs joined the

group for the day’s fun. They included Dream Chasers MC, CMA, Aces Wild MCC and a number of independent riders. The children were treated to bike wheelies, burnouts and even a spinning demonstration - things most of them had never seen up close. The ToyRun’s funds and toys that are collected really makes a huge difference in communities. Keep your eyes open for the date of this year’s event and you can be part of the difference.

ECM revamp traditional authority offices at Ga Riba As part of the ongoing Mandela Day initiatives that takes place on an annual basis, Samancor Eastern Chrome Mines extended its helping hand to the needy Bakoni-Phuti Traditional Authority Offices under Kgošigadi Hunadi Riba by upgrading their old office building. The building was built in the 1960’s and is a true landmark in the area. In one of the mine’s consultative meetings in the presence of the Kgoshigadi Riba, she raised a concern about the safety of the building indicating that she cannot even work from the office where she is required to the run traditional affairs of the community. Samancor Eastern Chrome Mines cares for the safety of its employees and stakeholders and therefore decided to repair the cracked walls, falling ceiling and roof leaks. “The building will be

beneficial to the community as it is where they gather for meetings and can resolve community conflicts with dignity. We hope and believe that this initiative by ECM will bear the fruits and contribute to a safe and healthy environment” said ECM management.
