Gazette
I’ve been living in Burgersfort for over 28 years and I would like to thank Greater Tubatse Municipality for the infrastructure upgrades. Thank you for the roads that you are fixing, the pavements and for all the street lights that you fixed to light the way making it a bit safer at night. I’m excited to see what is next and hope that you keep up the good work, it is much appreciated. For the first time in years I am delighted to live in Burgersfort. Regards. Michelle

Name your municipality You can participate in renaming the Fetakgomo Greater Tubatse Local Municipality. The redetermination of the Municipal boundaries by the Municipal demarcations board has resulted in the two Municipalities - Fetakgomo and Greater Tubatse amalgamating to form the new Municipality currently called LIM 476. The Municipal Council has appointed an Adhoc committee to drive the process of the naming of the new Municipality. The Adhoc committee has developed a programme of stakeholder participation to ensure that the majority of the people participate in the identification of the new name.
The process includes conducting public participation meetings with Magoshi, Business, Churches and communities to afford them an opportunity to select the name of the new Municipality. Wards are clustered together and people are being bussed to the different meeting venues. Catering is provided at the venues. The process of the community consultation started on 23 May 2017 and is due to conclude today, 26 May 2017. “It is our intension to start using the new name of the Municipality by 1st July 2017” said Mr T.A. Mokwena, from the municipality’s communications unit.
Some of the municipal signage is long overdue for replacement. The next board will carry a new name.

Take care Today is 26 May 2016, the day after most people in the area received their salaries on 25 May. It is significant as it means that the local towns and roads will be exceptionally busy, with even trucks not keeping to the rules and vying for space and position. Today is the local monthly road hog day. Please be careful.

When?
The Ohrigstad Sport Stadium that has cost in excess of R15 million and more than 3 years to get to the point it is today, is still standing incomplete. Last year in July before the elections the Greater Tubatse Municipality scheduled the handover of the sports complex with the newspaper, but abruptly cancelled it
again. Since then the project had not seen much work being done and local teams have to make use of other facilities. The contractor also cancelled previous meetings scheduled with the newspaper through the local stakeholder committee. Now the question remains, when will it be finished?
