Beauty in Motion

Impeccably balanced automotive and aeronautics-inspired lines and curves clothed the T680 Fenice, a superyacht developed by Team For Design in partnership with Tankoa Yachts

No one born and raised in Venice can avoid being influenced by the city’s peerless heritage of art, beauty and maritime history. Enrico Gobbi is no exception. He fell in love with yachts whilst doing his thesis for an architecture degree in his home city. After a five-year stint at the Nuvolari-Lenard studio, he founded Team for Design in nearby Mestre in 2005. “Above all, the yacht should be beautiful. Then as you get closer the refined, complex details emerge. To me, design is all about harmonious proportions,” he says. Gobbi’s first project for Tankoa is the aptly-named Fenice, a 68m superyacht built on new naval platform with exterior styling that is elegant, streamlined, bold and dynamic at once. Clothed in automotive and aeronautics-inspired lines and curves, Fenice epitomises beauty in motion. “From the very first moment I started sharing my ideas with Tankoa, I knew I was in the right place with the right people,” Gobbi continues. The clever circulation flow aboard the T680 Fenice makes the transition between interior and exterior utterly natural for the ultimate in guest relaxation and conviviality. The astounding centrepiece, however, is a glorious 100 sqm multi-level beach club spanning an infinity pool, gym, spa and lounge. A glass-covered portion of the pool integrated into the centre of the deck leads guests directly to a sheltered terrace, and then onto the beach club proper. Folding balconies on both sides increase interior space and foster a bond with the sea, while twin staircases link the main deck and stern platform. The perfect playroom and chill-out zone in other words.

Conversely, the main salon is a haven of sedate comfort and style, effortlessly flowing out to the terrace. Floor-to-ceiling glass windows afford sweeping sea views too. Further forward lie two VIP suites and four en suite guest cabins, all with huge full-height windows.

The open-aft section of the upper deck morphs into a circular dining area, which can be enclosed by full-height sliding glass doors or left semi-open to the sun and sea breeze. The master stateroom is an exquisite 90 sqm retreat with 270-degree panoramic views, a huge walk-wardrobe and palatial marble bathroom. It enjoys direct access to a private foredeck with sun loungers and a glass-fronted Jacuzzi that doubles as a touch-and-go helipad for grand entrances or dramatic exits.

The lower deck is dedicated to the crew quarters and services, including a prospec galley, hospital room and side-loading tender garage. teamfordesign.com

Expansive spaces, full-height windows, a luxe finish and special effects: that’s the T680 Fenice, an inviting 68m with a soul-soothing vibe. The astounding centrepiece, however, is a glorious 100 sqm multi-level beach club spanning an infinity pool, gym, spa and lounge
